Chapter 294: Fountain of Eden [ 3 ]
Those thoughts kept popping up in my mind, but I avoided actually looking deep into them. Honestly? It wouldn’t be hard to take over this whole Fountain of Eden place.
It was just that, what exactly was the point? I was just doing this because I was petty, wasn’t I?
I let out a sigh and just rested for a bit, waiting for the Giant to eventually arrive at the city and enter his home. But before he did, I jumped off, climbing onto his large roof and then observing a bit of the city from up here.
Yeah... it was as big as I thought.
Plus, in the very center of the city, there was the Fountain of Eden itself. It was just an ordinary fountain, but it did have a nice little rose atop it, which made it important to everyone here.
As for the humans, the only reason they even knew this place existed was because some Giant dropped a scroll with the fountain’s picture on it.
This probably wasn’t even called the Fountain of Eden, but rather some bullshit that the humans or demons had come up with.
Whatever the case may be, I believed in whatever Adam said, since while he might be stupid, he wasn’t a complete idiot. If he needed some materials, then I’d get them.
If anything, I felt like the only thing that would work out of all the materials that he told me to get was the Titan’s heart.
But where do I go to do that...? I can’t see any Titans here, and from the looks of things, this realm was much larger than it first appeared. If anything, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was as large as my old Earth, or even my current world.
Yet right as I thought I would need to search around for a long time for something interesting, I suddenly spotted a very familiar bird in the sky, flying together in a flock. It was a pigeon.
And since the only pigeons that were left in this world were angels, I was immediately alerted. No one really knew the location of where these Angels lived, but many theorized that they had found some secret realm to escape to.
No one looked into it apart from that. That was also probably why they managed to survive for this long.
They continued to fly past, and once they were out of my field of view, I just stared into the sky, wondering what else this realm could be hiding.
Its own pair of unique demons? An ancient human civilization? A technique or two? There really were close to endless possibilities.
And since I wanted to find all of them out, I decided to get the simple stuff out of the way first.
I took a deep breath and descended toward the Fountain of Eden. There were several dozen Giants there, but since I was so little, no one really managed to spot me, as just the grass alone was enough to hide my figure.
And so when I hopped onto the fountain and dove inside it, no one even bat an eye. If anything, these Giants probably thought I was some sort of fish.
The fountain water was very clear, and I couldn’t really tell what was so special about this fountain, so I decided to take a sip. The moment I did that, I felt a burning sensation travel down my throat, almost like I had swallowed some acid.
I flailed around slightly, panicking at the sudden turn of events. But all that managed to do was cause some waves to form in the fountain, giving me no choice but to swim down even deeper so the Giants couldn’t see me.
The burning sensation didn’t pass away, though. It made me think why I even did that in the first place. Well... I was never known for my very high intellect. Though I did rely on my passive Special Abilities and Telekinesis to filter anything bad.
But maybe it wasn’t bad? Aside from burning my throat, it wasn’t doing that much. Maybe it was helpful to me?
Before I knew it, I began to accept this warmth, allowing it to flow freely within my body. And as expected, when I didn’t refuse its presence, it actually didn’t feel that bad. If anything, all of that warmth went straight into my Mind Realm.
I decided to check it out, and what I found was a bit puzzling. The sky, which was overwhelmed by the amount of Divine Energy I had, now turned all that purple into a bright ocean blue color. It didn’t feel off in the slightest.
And upon closer look, I was left in disbelief.
"It’s... dye?"
There really wasn’t anything else to it. It literally just dyed my energy a different color. Did it affect all the Divine Energy I had?
I decided to make sure, entering the realm where all my Divine Energy was stored. Surprisingly enough, that really was the case. All my energy was dyed, and with no negative side effects.
What was the point of this? Why did Adam need it to begin with?
"..."
Welp.
It’s not my place to ask questions.
With that in mind, I decided to leave the Mind Realm, and once again return to the fountain. Without hesitation, I began collecting the water into a couple flasks I had brought, not forgetting to take some extra for personal use.
And once I was done, I flew out of the fountain and carefully made my way down, making sure not to be detected by any of the Giants. I was already planning on how I’d get the next ingredient.
However, the moment I felt like I was free and had gone undetected, I saw a foot descend in front of me, nearly crushing me. I thought it was just a coincidence at first, but when it happened again and again... I had a rough idea that I had somehow been spotted.
And when I looked out from within the grass, I saw tens of eyes locked straight on me.
"..."
Uh oh.
