Chapter 215: Who is this idiot?

The large hall where the night banquet was held was lavishly decorated. Tables were stocked with different kinds of cuisines, wines, and alcohol from all four races, to the brim. But at this moment, none of the youths were paying attention to any of that.

And that was because in this large hall where hundreds of youths from all races were in attendance, each a talent in their own right, a select few still stood out.

Those few were just so out of this world that the rest couldn’t even compare to them, not only in appearance, but also in their aura and bearing.

Even with everyone literally being handsome and beautiful, a divide still existed. Amongst the ladies, Mayura Silvermoon, the princess of the Elven empire, Nymeria Stormborne, the princess Oceana, Rose Darkfell, the princess of the Darkfell empire, A bewitching demoness who also looked like she was royalty, and last but not least, Anastasia Necron, the princess of the Necron empire.

These four stood out the most among all the ladies present in the night banquet. As for the young men, amongst them, Alistair von Drake, the young master of House Drake, Ivis Silvermoon, the prince of the Elven Empire, Namor Stromborne, the prince of Oceana, and Fabian Ashton, the prince of the Ashton empire, this four stood out the most among the young men.

Currently, in the banquet hall, none of the youths of the four races bothered to approach one another to chat or anything.

Amongst the elves however, "Where is he?" Ivis whispered to himself, his eyes scanning through the ranks of the demons. He couldn’t find anyone that fit the bearing of Kaal Von Sanguine amongst the demons present.

"Is he not attending this banquet?" Ivis muttered once more. After a while, his patience ran out, but just as he was about to walk towards the demons, his sister, Mayura, caught his arm.

"Don’t do anything rash, brother." Mayura said.

"Relax, sister, I’m not one to cause trouble, I’m just going to ask those demons where their so called genius is?" He said before removing her hand and then began walking towards the demons.

Ivis’s looks naturally drew attention, and his feet echoed loudly throughout the already silent hall as he continued to walk towards the demons under the bewildered gazes of the other races and even his own race.

"What does that guy think he is doing?" Someone asked.

"He’s going towards the demons, of course, what does it look like he’s doing?" His friend beside him rolled his eyes.

"Is he looking for trouble?" Aric muttered.

"No, I don’t think he looks stupid enough to do that." Levi replied.

By this time, Ivis had reached the demon youths.

He began with a smile.

"I’m Ivis Silvermoon, the fourth prince of the Elven Empire." He introduced facing the bewitching demoness. "Might I know who you are?"

The demoness looked at him silent for a while, before she replied in kind.

"I’m Isolde Von Sanguine, a princess of the demon Empire." Isolde replied. "But I must ask , why did you approach us of all people here?" she asked perplexed as to why the elf prince approached them.

"I wanted to ask something." he smiled. "I’m merely curious as to why I couldn’t see the so called genius of the demon race, Kaal Von Sanguine. I wonder as to where he might be?"

Before Isolde could even open her mouth to speak, Ivis, Mayura, Anastasia, Namor, Nymeria, Alistair, and Isolde herself suddenly turned their heads towards a certain direction.

And in that direction, was the entrance/exit of the banquet hall. ’Something is coming.’ They simultaneously thought.

And soon enough, the doors swung open, and in walked a young handsome demon with blood red eyes, his regal clothing swaying with his every step, giving him an imposing bearing.

But that wasn’t what the others were concerned about. What the top dogs noticed was the palpable aura rolling off the young demon.

’He’s strong.’ Anastasia frowned for the first time regarding the strength of anyone who belonged to the same generation.

’Strong.’ Namor thought with a subtle frown, before the frown suddenly transformed into a wide grin.

’This guy...’ Ivis thought, but didn’t let anything show on his face.

"Who might you be?" Kaal asked in a composed tone, as he stared right into Ivis eyes.

Ivis clenched the hand by his side at the blatant dismissal from the arrogant demon. Who the hell didn’t know who, he, Ivis Silvermoon was?

Still, he would be no less barbaric than the prideful demon if he let his mask slip. "I’m Ivis Silvermoon, the fourth prince of the Elven empire." He replied. He decided to play along with Kaal.

"So?" Kaal asked without a shred of acknowledgement, making Isolde, the rest of the demons and the other races chuckled at Ivis’s expense, all except for the elves.

Ivis’s expression turned icy. "We’ll meet in the competition." He said, and without a word more, walked back to the elves.

"I did tell you not to go, brother." Mayura frowned.

"Forget it." Ivis sighed. "I’ll make him regret it." he muttered solemnly. It might have looked like Ivis wasn’t that bothered, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Ivis was raging inwardly, but unlike those barbaric demons, he couldn’t act right here. He’d meet Kaal on the battlefield, and settle this grudge.

Meanwhile, back with the demons, Isolde looked at Kaal with a smile.

"Did you really have to go that far, uncle?" She asked. Yes, you heard right, Kaal was Isolde’s uncle. Isolde was the daughter of the first prince of the demon Empire, who was Kaal’s older brother, so she was in essence, also a princess.

In reality, Kaal and Isolde were both the same age, but by blood, he was her uncle.

"He isn’t worth my attention." He replied coldly.

Isolde frowned.

"He doesn’t seem weak though." She said.

"I wasn’t talking about strength." Kaal replied.

"Princes and princesses, ladies and gentlemen, the dance is about to begin." At that time, the host entertaining the youths for the banquet stepped into the center of the hall.

"If it wouldn’t be much trouble, please take a partner and move to the dance floor." The host, a stunning demoness said with a smile. "Preferably, a partner from another race." She added. At her words, most snorted. A partner from another race? as if.

The banquet meant to make them mingle and bridge the gap between them, was failing miserably. Still, some began moving to the dance floor with their partners.

Some bold few tried to pick partners from other races (men obviously), but were outright rejected to the amusement of the rest.

"Let’s go " Alistair and Elsa went together to the dance floor. Most humans behind them also did the same with their partners.

At that time however, a young human who would probably be at most a little handsome according to Nahaar’s standards, began walking towards the main cast.

He walked confidently stopped before them. "May I have this dance, your highness?" He extended his hand to Rose.

"..."

Every single human at the vicinity froze at the words that came out of the young man’s mouth.

The princess in question however threw a look at the young man, one that would most probably be translated as; "Do you intend to die?"

"Who is this idiot?" Delilah asked Anastasia in a whisper.

"How am I supposed to know?" Anastasia asked back.

"Somebody who is that guy?!" Someone asked.

"He has a lot of guts I’ll give him that."

"Is this guy sound in the head?!"

"I know him, we go to the same academy!" a young man muttered from behind.

Mayura only spared the scene a glance, before looking away, though, her brother seemed rather interested in the drama. Such was the case for Kaal and Isolde, who weren’t the least bit bothered about the drama.

Nymeria and the others however, were fully invested in the drama.

"No." Rose replied coldly after the young man refused to move away even with her stern look.

"No problem." The young man smiled, then moved a step to the side, standing before Anastasia.

"Don’t you dare." Anastasia said in a low tone.

But the young man didn’t care about her subtle threat.

"May I have this dance?"

"...."

"...."

Anastasia became genuinely baffled. Who was this guy, and what the hell was wrong with him? She almost chuckled despite herself.

Rose though, was barely stopping herself from cutting the young man apart, thanks to Delilah holding her back.

"No thanks, I’m not in the mood to dance." Anastasia replied after a while.

"A shame then." The young man smiled stepping back, before walking away at a brusque pace, heading for the exit of the hall under the Snickers from the four races alike.

It was only after the young man had reached the doors, that Anastasia felt something ... familiar?

Without hesitation, she escused herself, and quickly walked towards the doors, but by the time she reached the doors, the young man had seemingly disappeared into thin air.

"Sia, what happened?"

Anastasia turned to see, Delilah and Rose behind her.

"It’s nothing." She shook he head. ’I must have gotten it wrong.’ she shook her head.
