Chapter 214: Elves and Night banquet

‎After they left, the others noticed Alistair looking out of it. ‎"Hey, Alistair, what’s wrong?" Aric asked.

‎"It’s that Namor guy." Alistair muttered gravely.

‎"What happened with him?" Fabian talked for the first time since they encountered the Merfolk.

‎"He’s strong, extremely so." Alistair muttered.

‎The rest of their expressions also turned grave. For Alistair to admit that someone was extremely strong, it meant that that person was ridiculously strong.

‎"But you can beat him right?" Elsa asked.

‎Alistair contemplated for a moment before nodding. "I do not know." he said after a while.

‎"Why all the gloomy faces?" Anastasia suddenly spoke. "I’m still here aren’t I?" She smiled with the kind of confidence only someone who was absolutely confident in their strength could do.

After the Merfolk separated from the humans, Nymeria noticed something, but didn’t deign to ask until she was sure they were far away from the humans.

‎"What was that, Namor? Earlier, I felt your emotions fluctuating wildly." Nymeria said. "Why is that?" she asked.

‎"So you felt it." Namor’s earlier cold stone expression bled into a grin. "It’s Sia, and that golden haired boy, they’re incredibly strong, I can’t wait to cross blades with them."

‎"Tsk, what would you expect from this battle maniac?" Nyssa clicked her tongue.

‎"Incredibly strong you say, how incredibly, exactly? My senses have never been my strong point." Vael asked.

‎"If we were to face Sia, I wouldn’t know who would win." Namor’s grin widened.

‎"What?! Sia has grown that strong?" Nyssa exclaimed.

‎"What if it was the other guy?" Veal asked.

‎"If it was the other guy, I’d still win, albeit with high to extreme difficulty."

‎"Whoa! I didn’t think humans would be that strong." Vael exclaimed. "I thought the last time they won the convergence was around four thousand years ago something."

‎"Four hundred years Vael, not four thousand." Nymeria was quick to correct him. "And also do not underestimate the humans. The only reason they haven’t gone extinct is their strength. If not, with the their quirks and actions, they would have long doomed themselves."

‎The humans had so aptly named themselves the strongest race in Nahaar for a reason after all. Though the humans saw the loss of the last three consecutive convergence of races as a blow to their pride, they still believed they were the most powerful.

‎In fact, people like Amon, Sevas, and even most of the current royals, nobles, and geniuses above age twenty believed that if the convergence had happened during their time, they would have most certainly won it.

‎"Okay fine, I won’t underestimate the humans, nor of the other races." Vael raised his arms in surrender. "Though, that golden haired boy is the one said to have an Omega ranked physique isn’t he? I don’t see anything special about him."

‎"Of course you won’t see it Vael, your senses are dulled." Nymeria scoffed.

‎"Just to be clear, we’re not holding back on Sia just because she is dead to us are we?" Nyssa asked.

‎"Of course not, We will hold nothing back." Nymeria smiled. "Sia would be fighting for the human race, and we are fighting for the Merfolk." she paused. "If you want, you can completely forget who she is for the duration of the convergence."

‎"As you wish, your highness." Vael raised his hand in mock salute, and Nymeria couldn’t resist rolling her eyes in amusement.

‎-----------

‎In the residence assigned to the youths from the Elven race, a young man with absurdly pointed ears, long platinum gold hair, and refined elegant facial features pushed open the door to a luxurious room.

‎Inside the room sat a young woman with the same elegant grace, pointed ears and features as the young man, only that her face was extremely beautiful.

‎"Wby are you closed off in your room, I wonder, dear Mayura?" The young elf asked the young woman whose name was Mayura.

‎"Where do you suppose I go then, Ivis?" Mayura muttered in distaste. "I dislike the gaze of those prideful demons, and the fishy smell of those greedy fish people, not to mention that I abhor the sight those vile humans."

‎"I understand your sentiments." Ivis nodded in agreement. He also detested other races. "However, I see no reason why you should let that get to you." Ivis said.

‎"I know that, brother, but I can’t help it." Mayura muttered, cleaning her hand with a white towel as if disgusted by the sheer fact that she had thought of those... barbaric creatures.

‎Nor wanting to continue thinking about that, she changed the topic.

‎"Have you encountered anyone of note or anyone worth paying attention to, Ivis?"

‎Ivis smiled. "Indeed I have."

‎"How do you rate them? What about that human who went viral for possessing an Omega ranked physique?"

‎"That human certainly is strong and maybe a little special, but I saw another human who might perhaps be stronger."

‎"Who might that be?" Mayura asked.

‎"I do not know her name." I vis shook his head. "As for the fish men, there certainly is one man whose aura was exceptionally sharp."

‎"I see." The elf princess muttered. "What about the demons?"

‎"I’ve seen many notable ones, but I’ve yet to see the one I wanted to see the most, Kaal Von Sanguine. He was nowhere to be found."

‎"Hmph, that demon must be hiding." Mayura snorted.

‎"Be it as it may, we are surely going to meet in the banquet two days before the start of the competition." Ivis smiled. "I’ll see for myself, then who the so called genius of the demon race is."

‎There was a banquet organized two days before the day of the competition, and everyone would most likely than not attend, especially the royal family of the Demon Empire.

‎-----------

‎Normally, the setting of the competition should be decided upon by the demon race since it was happening in their territory.

‎But alas, the setting of the competition was a very delicate thing. None of the other races would ever agree to leave it in the hands of the demon race alone.

‎The mentality of the other races in that was that, what if the demon race made the setting of the competition in benefit to their youths? The youths of the other races would then be in a disadvantage if that happened.

‎In the begining, when the Convergence was first held. The demons denied doing that, stating they weren’t as unscrupulous as humans. Though, none of the races believed them.

‎So, it was made that the setting of the competition be discussed and decided upon in a meeting by the alpha rankers of all the races together, towards a competition that favoured no race.

‎That was the reason why the Alpha rankers all disappeared on the day they arrived in the demon capital. They were discussing and planning the setting of the competition.

‎After over three days while days of arguing and taunting each other, the meeting of the alpha rankers finally came to an end, and the setting of the competition was finalized.

‎The alpha rankers then personally crafted the pocket realm where the trail would take place themselves.

‎"Ah, the children will be in for it." Sevas grinned as he wove his power into the realm under creation. His power was part of the first trial the youths would undergo.

‎With the powers and wills of the Alpha rankers to fuel the absurd sorcery framework, the pocket realm was finally completed in less than an hour.

If those mad sorcerers heard that an entire pocket realm was finished in less than one hour, they’d probably go mad for real. A pocket realm usually took months to create, and that was when the sorcerers creating it were of the Delta rank and above.

‎Anyway, the alpha rankers just so happened to finish on the day of the banquet, even though they weren’t going to be attending the banquet themselves.

‎The youths meanwhile were already preparing for the night banquet.

‎"Wow, Rose, you dress to impress." Delilah marveled at Rose’s dress. Rose’s dress for the night was midnight black, matching her hair color, and complementing her pale skin. She also wore a silver grey necklace, complementing her eyes. In short, Rose looked absolutely stunning, especially with her hair parted at the sides.

‎"Thank you, you also look pretty." Rose smiled at the complement.

‎Delilah wore a long white dress, and blue jewelry that complemented her her hair. They both looked very beautiful.

‎As for Anastasia, she had just finished changing and walked into the room.

‎Anastasia wore a blood red dress, and a black set piece of jewelry. She looked so absolutely stunning as that both Rose and Delilah were left speechless for a moment. It if she hadn’t just chosen that clothes on the fly, just yesterday. According to Delilah, anything Sia wore would look good on her.

‎"I have no words to describe you." Delilah admitted staring at the beautiful scene before her eyes.

‎Anastasia let out a melodious chuckle. "Lets go, shall we?"
