Chapter 271: Kael’s Request (I)
But of course, Sisi knew that they were fated, and they’d have to mate sooner or later.
According to Ruela, a male wolf who had finally found his fated mate would have a constant urge to mark and mate with his beloved, so they became impatient and agitated most of the time, and would also obey their women’s words, just so they could stick their dick inside their women.
It was a physical and emotional urge that had been hammered into them ever since they were born. It was their main focus in life—to mate and produce offspring.
Usually, the female wolves would also have the same urge. But since Sisi had no beastman blood, it was only Kael who got the urge.
Sisi took a deep breath as she was preparing herself mentally, then asked, "Kael, do you... want to do that?"
She could feel Kael’s thick and hard shaft twitch immediately. It was obvious that he really wanted it, but he said nothing and buried his face in her nape, taking a deep whiff of Sisi’s mysterious scent and said, "We should hold our wedding first before doing that, Sisi. It is the custom."
"Wedding..."
Honestly, Sisi had no intention of holding a wedding ceremony, because she would have to leave in a month.
She preferred to mate with Kael at least once, so he wouldn’t be too heartbroken after she left, because he had tasted her body at least once.
But wedding was a completely different thing, because that’d officially recognize her as the Queen of the Beast Kingdom.
She glanced at the flower pot on the windowsill where Crush Tutu was sleeping inside one of the flowers, and knew that the faeries wouldn’t approve of her action if she decided to officiate her relationship with Kael.
However, her heart told her that it was just right to give this wedding a chance. As selfish as it sounded, having to live a blessed married life with Kael and Jojo was something straight out of a fairy tale for her—who had never had a family before meeting them.
Sisi hadn’t told Kael about her promise to leave after spring ended. They were too busy preparing for war that she didn’t want to distract Kael while the lives and deaths of many were at stake.
Now that the war was finally over, she had time to tell the truth.
"Kael, I... I have to—"
"We can start the wedding tomorrow," Kael interrupted her. "I can prepare a festive wedding to celebrate the arrival of the Beast Queen. However, preparing such a thing will take a long time, and I know that you don’t like excessive things."
"Especially since we just ended a war. Don’t you think it’s inappropriate to hold a celebration now?" Sisi swallowed her previous words and decided to stop Kael from holding the ceremony.
However, Kael was far more stubborn than usual, which surprised Sisi.
"This is the perfect time, actually. To celebrate the victory after a difficult war, we can celebrate by holding a festival called the Queen’s Feast. Starting from now, we will celebrate the Queen’s Feast every end of spring to remember the war we fought and also the coming of the Beast Queen, which would finally make the Beast Kingdom a proper monarchy."
Kael’s words were too convincing that at this point, it’d feel strange if Sisi kept on rejecting the idea.
On top of that, if she kept denying it, would Kael become suspicious about her situation?
Sisi wanted to say that she’d think about it, but Kael suddenly kissed her nape, making her shudder all over and whispered:
"This is the only reward I need after winning the war, Sisi. I just want you to become my wife, and I want it sooner than later."
In the end, he added a simple "please."
It might sound insignificant when others said please, but Kael was a king—a powerful one at that. He absolutely didn’t need to beg.
But he still did, and Sisi’s heart began to ache knowing that they were about to get separated in a month.
She looked down at the flower ring on her finger. It was so beautiful that Sisi took very good care of it, making sure to clean it every day so the promise that they held wouldn’t rust.
’Grandma... is it okay for me to be selfish?’ Sisi asked her Grandma Tree. Though, she got no answer, of course. The only way for her to contact her grandmother was through a dream.
’I’ve sacrificed my divinity to save Jojo and cleanse all the side effects he could get as the Dawn Star. I’ve also given up my life to stay in the faerie land without question in a month.’
’So, is it okay for me to indulge a bit with the man I am fated with? The man who is supposed to accompany me for the rest of my life?’
Sisi knew that the answer would probably be a big NO.
She had promised to return to the faerie land, as it desperately needed its Darling to rule over the faeries and maintain the balance of nature.
Faeries were mischievous and stubborn; even the old ones sometimes acted like children. So, a Darling was necessary to keep them in check.
Unfortunately, Sisi couldn’t split her body in two, ruling over both the Beast Kingdom and the faerie land.
She was pondering over her answer for a long time until Kael’s voice snapped her out of her daze, "Sisi? What do you think? Can we please get married soon?"
...
Sisi knew that she was making a mistake. She was falling into a trap that she set up herself.
But she couldn’t help it. Seeing Kael desperately trying to make them official and introduce her as his Queen was enough for her heart to waver, and in the end, she nodded,
"We... we can get married soon, Kael. Just don’t make it too festive. I don’t want other beastmen to think of the Queen as extravagant and wasteful."
