Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy

Chapter 272: Kael’s Request (II)

"If you don’t want a big celebration, then so be it! As long as you’re willing to marry me, then nothing else matters!" Kael said as he carefully sat her down on the chair next to his, then stood up.

"Where are you going?" Sisi asked.

"Preparing for our wedding ceremony, of course!" Kael replied while wearing his cloak. "But the wedding ceremony for beastmen isn’t as complicated as humans’. All we need is to tell everyone that we are officially together now, and then we can finally consummate. But of course, since our wedding ceremony will also coronate you as the Queen, the Queen’s Festival will be held, and everyone is allowed to celebrate it in the capital square. It’s similar to the spring festival we had not long ago."

Sisi nodded. She had no more to say because Kael was the one who got excited over it.

"Preparing everything shouldn’t be difficult. But the wedding dress will be difficult to make quickly. We’ll have to get all the seamstresses to work together," Kael muttered.

"Don’t worry about that one," Sisi replied. "I can make my own dress... with my power, of course. It’d be more beautiful than any dress made by seamstresses."

Kael turned his head towards Sisi and melted on the spot when Sisi smiled at him. He leaned closer and kissed Sisi’s lips gently. "Then I’ll handle the rest. We have to do it as soon as possible."

"Mm... as soon as possible," Sisi confirmed.

She watched as he left and sighed deeply. "Why am I willingly making the wrong choice? Am I that weak to the point that I can’t say no to him?"

Sisi turned her head towards the sleeping Jojo and muttered, "I am sorry, Jojo. It cannot be helped."

Kael’s smile vanished once he left the main chamber. He knew that it was impossible for the faeries to just let Sisi go after they healed Jojo’s blindness and caused him to awaken his Dawn Star power earlier.

The faeries must’ve wanted their Darling back.

Kael had suspected that Sisi wouldn’t be able to stay with him for long, especially after he said "as soon as possible" and Sisi replied with the same sentence.

It basically confirmed that she didn’t have much time here, and had to leave sooner rather than later.

Thus, Kael decided to rush everything. He wanted to officiate their bond, making her the Queen of the Beast Kingdom, and also mate with her.

By mating with her, their bond would be connected even after death did them apart. He would be able to locate her anywhere even without the promise flower ring.

This was the only method he could think of to stop Sisi from leaving, because forcing her and making her sad was not the way he’d do things—well, he didn’t give a damn if it was someone else. But Sisi was too precious for him to force.

He wanted Sisi to stay by her own choice, and this marriage would be the only way to do so.

Kael reached the throne room and met with Vestor, who was able to do his work again but couldn’t join the war as his body was still too weak after suffering heavy injuries a month ago.

"Good evening, My King," Vestor bowed carefully in front of Kael. He thought the Beast King would’ve spent the night with Mistress Sisi, since they had just had a war and every man wanted to celebrate by spending the night with their mates.

However, Kael looked grim, and Vestor became nervous instantly. "Is... is there something on your mind, My King?" he asked.

"Vestor, tell the other officials to start preparing the grains and salted meat to be shared with the civilians tomorrow morning," Kael ordered.

"Is it a compensation for those who have lost their family members during the war, My King?"

"This is different. I want to hold a Queen’s Festival as soon as possible to officiate my marriage with Sisi and crown her as the Queen."

Vestor’s eyes widened. "My King, we need a lot of preparation for that! Maybe we can hold a grand celebration in the next two months?"

"We don’t have that much time, Vestor. Don’t worry, even Sisi doesn’t want it to be too grand. She told me she wants it as soon as possible, and so do I," Kael said. "Besides, even in beastman culture, we don’t hold celebrations that often since everything is about survival."

"I know it’s not common to hold a grand wedding in tribes. But we’re already a kingdom, My King. Besides, isn’t it an insult for Mistress Sisi to have a simple celebration for her coronation?"

What Vestor said was right. If they had more time, Kael would’ve wanted a grand celebration instead of this.

However, he didn’t know when Sisi would leave, so it was better to do it as soon as possible.

"Just do as I said. I—we don’t have much time, Vestor."

The last sentence felt ominous for Vestor. But since the King had urged him, he had no reason to argue.

He nodded and said, "If we rush things, we should be able to hold a small festival in the capital square. After all, the essence of marriage in beastmen tribes is about introducing your mate to the fellow tribesmen."

"Good. Let’s get to work now. I’ll search the treasury for some jewelry, in case Sisi wants to wear it," Kael said as he got up from the throne and rushed to the treasury without looking back.

Vestor didn’t know what to say. They had just had a war, and though it was a landslide victory, everyone must be exhausted.

But the Beast King must have a reason to rush it.

**

"Mistress, are you sure that you don’t need our help with the wedding dress? All the maids can work hand in hand on it," Diane asked anxiously, seeing that the Beast King was about to arrive, and Sisi was still wearing her inner garment.

The news of the Queen’s Festival was abrupt. It happened only three days after the war ended, and now everyone in the Queen’s courtyard was panicking because Mistress Sisi had said absolutely nothing about it!
