Chapter 300: Lucy Versus Demon part 2
BOOM
The Demon shot forward fast, gritting his teeth and pulling both hands back for the attack. He wanted to end her now in one slash.
Lucy got ready as well. She rolled her spear and then charged ahead at full speed. She pulled her arm back and went in for a thrust.
BANG!
BANG!
They collided, and each time the air was ripped apart, the ground cracked, and everything trembled.
From outside, it looked like no one was winning. There was a stalemate, but to Lucy and the Demon, she was dominating, and it was only a matter of time before that showed.
She saw an opening and very quickly went for it, slashing with her spear. It ripped through the demon’s gut, blood gushed out like a fountain, and the demon staggered backwards while blood poured out.
"Urghh, just get out of the way already!" he roared in anger. His demonic energy erupted like a geyser as he charged ahead, ignoring the massive wound that he had on his body.
He charged at her, going for a wide swing. She dodged the attack, but it travelled and cleared the ground behind her, leaving an over twenty foot long gash in the ground.
She tried to counter when she saw an opening, but he turned around very fast and went for another attack. She was forced to block the attack. The blade collided with the spear, and a shockwave ripped through the air. She was pushed a few feet back.
She looked stunned at the sudden increase in speed and strength of the demon, but there was not enough time to analyze. The demon pulled back and swung with both hands down, cleaving through the air. Before the blade got to her, the force of the attack was already pressing against her.
"Tch, back away!" she thundered, and her dragon vine energy erupted out in a reddish form, slamming into the demon and throwing him back through the air.
Before the demon could hit the ground, she pulled her arm back and hurled the spear at him. It penetrated right into the heart of the demon, but she knew that was not the end. She rushed at the demon and grabbed the spear, pulling it out and proceeding to stab it through the head and into the ground.
"Whoa, talk about brutal," Aiden muttered as he watched. Her cold execution, the way she moved, everything about her was precise and powerful.
"It’s not over yet," Aren said, looking at the demon on the ground. A black liquid immediately spilled from its mouth. A little tried to get to Lucy, and she immediately backed away.
The black liquid dissolved the body, and from it a laugh could be heard.
"Hahahahahahahahahahahaha"
It was a wild laugh, the laugh of someone that had won the battle.
The liquid formed back into a humanoid demon form, and then finally the demon showed. His skin was blood red, toned and packed with muscles. He stood at seven feet tall, with demonic wings from his back and two curved horns on his head.
"Hahahahaha, thank you. I never thought it would work, but it turns out it did. You activated my demonic art. On death, I gain a temporary portal into this world and allow me to use my real strength."
He summoned his swords again and then locked eyes with Lucy. A smile formed on his face. "Now let’s go again and see, me or you, angel or fallen demon, who will come out victorious," the demon declared, seemingly confident in the strength that he had now.
The moment the demon moved, the air screamed under the pressure of his speed. Lucy reacted instantly, twisting her body and bringing her spear up just in time to meet his blades.
BANG!
The clash sent a violent shockwave tearing through the battlefield, dust and debris spiraling outward as both of them were forced back only a step before rushing in again.
The demon pressed forward relentlessly, his strikes coming faster and heavier, each swing carrying a monstrous weight that made Lucy’s arms tremble slightly with every block. She deflected, parried, sidestepped. Her movements were still precise, but the force behind his attacks was beginning to pile up.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Each collision rang out like thunder, sparks bursting into the air as steel met steel again and again. Lucy tried to create space, sliding back and thrusting her spear forward in a sharp counter, but the demon twisted his body unnaturally and knocked it aside. His follow up slash grazed her shoulder and tore through her armor.
"Tch!"
She clicked her tongue and spun away, narrowly avoiding another sweeping strike that carved a deep trench into the ground. The demon did not pause. His wings flared as he surged forward again, closing the distance instantly.
Lucy braced and blocked, but this time the impact drove her back several feet, her boots dragging across the cracked earth.
"Is that all?" the demon sneered, his grin widening as his attacks became even more aggressive.
She did not respond. Instead, her eyes sharpened, her grip tightening as she stepped back in, meeting his next strike head on.
BOOM!
The ground beneath them shattered further, fragments lifting into the air from the sheer force of their clash. Lucy twisted her spear, redirecting his blade and attempting a quick stab toward his chest, but he caught it mid motion and forced it off course.
Another strike came immediately after.
She blocked.
Another.
She blocked again.
But each time, she was pushed just a little further back.
Her breathing remained steady, but her footing was slowly being stolen, inch by inch, as the demon’s overwhelming strength began to dictate the flow of the fight.
Still, she did not fall.
And neither did he.
The battle raged on, neither side yielding, but for the first time, the balance had begun to tilt. Yet even then, her eyes held steady resolve, waiting for the single moment that would decide everything between them once more.
