Chapter 299: Lucy Versus Demon part 1
Lucy chased after the demon for a few minutes, she began catching up. The demon wasn’t in its true form and so could not harness the true power that it had, and that made it extremely difficult to fly faster.
When she was close enough she slammed into the demon at full speed and immediately sent both of them plummeting down, the demon fought back, eager to get free, but Lucy held firm and then she pulled her spear while they were mid struggle, and before the demon could react she plunged it into its chest, so deep that it burst out the other side, causing blood to rain down.
The demon groaned in pain as he tried to pull the spear from his chest while he fell, but Lucy wasn’t letting him, she flapped her wings even harder and shot down, grabbing onto the spear and yanking it out by force.
The demon hit the ground hard, dust rose as they fell in a barren land.
Lucy locked onto the demon again and immediately hurled the spear at the demon, it ripped through the air extremely fast, a kill shot.
The demon looked up, and then covered itself with its wings, a red pulse went through the wings and they got reinforced, the spear stabbed through, but wasn’t able to get to the demon.
After blocking the attack, the demon rose to his feet, pulled the spear out and tossed it to the side.
Lucy landed on the ground in a superhero pose, she looked up with her eyes burning with anger.
"I’ll kill you, demon," she growled.
"Tch, what even is your issue with me, you are a fallen angel, that means the angels forsook you, they didn’t want anything to do with you, you could continue your life without caring about what I do." The demon said, angry at the fact that she was attacking him.
"The angels are no good, I’ll say that, using human life and other lives as nothing but tools for the gods, but they are still far, far better than you.
All you demons want to do is unravel everything and dump the world in chaos,
you’ll kill every living thing," Lucy said.
The group finally landed with their wyverns, standing a good distance behind Lucy to observe what was happening.
The demon stared at Lucy for a few seconds, then he smiled, his lips curving upward in a very unnatural way, his eyes shining at the moment.
"Of course, because all life comes from chaos, so everything must fall into chaos, it is the natural order that exists and we are the enforcers of that structure," he declared, speaking as though his plan was some grand purpose that would reshape the world entirely.
He pointed at Lucy, "there is no point chasing me, I have waited years for the opportunity that I have now gained, so I’ll never allow someone like you to snatch that away from me, I must bring the coming of demons."
"I’m sorry, but I’ll have to stop you," he said and stretched her hand, the spear levitated off the ground and returned to her hand instantly. She grabbed it and immediately shifted into a full battle stance.
"Tch, angels are a pain," the demon muttered and then clutched at the air with both hands, only for two curved black sabers with skulls on their hilts to form in his hands.
"Pseudo demonic weapons," Lucy muttered.
"Ah, you really know your stuff," the demon said, he moved into a dual sword stance and got ready to battle. "It’s sad that I was unable to bring true demonic weapons due to the weakness of this human soul."
The air was tense for a moment, and then they both launched at the same time, ripping through the air like rockets, shockwaves exploded from their motions alone and caused winds to rush outwards, Arej and the group stood as the wind rushed over them, their eyes locked on what was happening.
"Arghhhhhh!" The demon yelled as he slashed from above with both swords, while she thrust her spear forward, full concentration.
CLANG!
The collision shook the air, a terrifying sound that travelled for kilometers, the ground beneath them cracked and a massive crater formed under their feet.
The two of them stood in a stalemate as the winds kept rushing, their power surging rapidly.
They both pushed back, landing a few meters away from each other.
Lucy charged first, her spear to her side, she flung it around and spun it before hurling it at him so fast it turned invisible.
The demon stepped back, and then cross slashed with his swords at the same time, the tip of the blades meeting with the tip of the spear.
CLANG
BOOM!
The ground cracked even more, the spear was deflected into the air, the demon looked up at the spear, he expected her to call back the spear and attack again, but the spear kept spinning and wasn’t called back.
That was when he realized she had a plan, and in that moment she appeared right behind him, her eyes burning red and a black energy pulsing from her hands.
The demon felt it and immediately panicked, he turned around to try and block the attack, he attacked with two massive slashes, but she dodged them easily and immediately two massive cuts were left in the ground.
She closed the distance before he could recover and delivered a punch right into the chest that hurled the demon through the air.
He slammed into the ground and kept rolling for a long while before finally stopping.
Lucy picked her spear up and started walking towards the demon who was struggling to get back to his feet. A frown was plastered on his face, this was not the way that it was meant to go, the plan was to do this without hindrance, but a goddamned angel just had to be here at this time, and now he had to deal with her somehow inside this weak vessel.
