Chapter 347-I Am A Killer
Lara:
"See, I told you. I did all of it," I said to the monster, trying to look for her in the water.
The voice was coming from a distance, and although I was very curious to see her, I was not dumb enough to get into the water to look at her. The last time I had looked at her, I had realized that beauty could also be very dangerous.
"That is true. I went upstairs after their mother passed out," I began, recalling the moment.
"I filled the tub with cold water and placed both the children in it." A faint smile touched my lips.
"I stayed there and watched them die. I did not even blink because I did not want to miss their misery." My gaze remained distant as the memory settled in.
"Then I went ahead and finished my dinner."
As I spoke, the entire incident replayed in my mind. A gentle smile lingered on my lips as I remembered how well I had done it, and how easy it had been.
I mean, I got rid of two fucking children, but I could not get rid of Iris. I could not even get a sick day out. Why has life become so harsh for me? And when did that happen?
"What happened to the mother? Did you kill her too?" the monster asked, more curious now.
And I realized that she was engaging with me, which was a good sign. She was probably realizing that I was the one who could really do her dirty job, so she might be willing to give me power."No, I did not kill her. Killing her would have been a mercy for her," I replied, shrugging with a prideful smirk on my lips.
"I left her alive," I added under my breath.
"You know, the pain of losing a child is worse."
"So I wanted her to live as long as she could and remember the children who were killed so brutally, yet she could not do anything for them."
Once I finished, I let out a soft laugh, almost forgetting what I had been through myself.
"Wow, I never thought you would be this powerful enough to make decisions like that. Such a timid one like you," the voice said, and my shoulders perked up.
After being rejected, kicked out, slapped, and going through a medical condition that left me unable to conceive, this kind of praise meant a lot to me. I smiled and held my hands behind my back obediently.
"So what can you do for me? What is your aim? Or should I ask, who is your target?" she questioned, her voice full of confidence, yet a little familiar.
The way she pronounced every word made me think, I have heard this voice before. I have heard this style before.
"I want Iris and her children dead," I said loudly. "And I want Kash’s family dead too."
"And you don’t want Kash dead?" she asked me, as I mentioned everyone else dying but not Kash.
I grunted, clutching my fingers tightly behind my back.
"Why, do you want Kash for yourself?"
There was a slight hint of jealousy in her tone, and I remembered that last time, she had seemed to be taking me away from Kash instead of really drowning him. I wondered what was going on. Why was she so fascinated with Kash?
I mean, I was. That was because I had tasted him. And I could never forget that taste.
"You sound like you know him too," I whispered softly.
She remained silent for a while, then chuckled.
"I like him. I want him too."
I was shocked when she openly confessed to liking and wanting him.
"We can decide who can get him later on," I uttered, slipping that information in.
However, deep down, once I got the power, the first thing I would do was kill this woman.
"And what else do you want to do?" she asked.
As she asked me that, I began to realize that maybe she had been too impressed and wanted to help me with everything.
"Uh...there, I have....." I paused, closing my eyes and clenching my jaw.
"I have given birth to two children before," I uttered.
"If you want, I can sacrifice them for the power too," I added, taking deep, heavy breaths and realizing that my father would be very angry when he heard this.
"Are you sure?" she asked in a taunting tone.
And I began to second-guess myself.
"You don’t seem very confident anymore," the voice said.
And I straightened my posture even more.
"It is just that—-I have lost the ability to ever be pregnant again after I–took medicines to kill the baby inside me," I uttered, dropping to my knees again.
The monster seemed more understanding than anyone else in my life. It was proven by the fact that I was able to speak with her more than with anyone around me.
And for some reason, she was giving me comfort. So I was just pouring my heart out to her.
"Why did you kill your children?" she asked.
And I looked up at the sky.
My lips curled downward as tears began to gather in my eyes, "because the father was just a mere warrior, and I had lied to the Alpha King Kash that the baby was his."
I sighed as I finished, nodding to myself.
"But now that I can never conceive a baby, I don’t know if the two children that I have neglected for so long–should die," I uttered in confusion.
Tears started to spill down my cheeks as I hugged myself.
"You seem to have committed a lot of crimes," she questioned, and it sounded more like a statement.
So I nodded.
"I did. I did it all for one person. I even blackmailed his brother-in-law to accuse his Luna of rape. All that, and now I am lonely."
I sighed, burying my face in my hands and crying.
"I just don’t understand. How did I end up with nothing, even when I tried so much?" I cried, burying my face in my hands and sniffling hard.
"Maybe that is because Kash did not want you," she said in a tone that felt like she was taunting me.
I gulped as I looked around, then forced my tone to remain calm.
"You’re right," I added, only because I did not want to anger her.
"How pathetic is it that you had such a chance and ruined it all," she continued, making me clench my fists.
"Or maybe I was right when I said there is nothing you can do when Kash doesn’t even want you. You only ruined yourself by going after him so much." her words pained so much.
"Anyway, I hope you have learned your lesson. But not until you are punished for your sins and crimes."
Her words made my back stiffen.
I took a deep breath and steadied myself, staring into the water where the voice was coming from, or perhaps from somewhere farther away.
"What do you mean by that? Who will punish me? Do you know something? Can you see the future?" I questioned, running my hand through my hair and fixing my posture.
I guess I had been crying for no reason.
I did not make a mistake. It was not my fucking fault.
The only mistake I made was that I could not win against Iris. That was it.
"Yes, I can see your future very well," she replied, and her tone began to grow clearer, no longer echoing.
And suddenly, my body stiffened.
"You can?" I asked in shock.
"I can," she replied confidently.
"Well, then tell me. What do you see?" I asked her curiously.
I mean, she had already told me what she was seeing, but I did not believe it.
"Tell me," I insisted again, and she finally started to grunt, almost like she was laughing at me.
It was eerie and creepy, but I had to get information out of her, so I did not respond too rudely to her.
Also, I was in her territory. I did not want to piss her off.
"I am seeing you in a prison, bitch," she commented, and my jaw hung low.
"Who will put me behind bars?" I asked her, ignoring her words.
"And how do you know I will be in prison?" I pressed again, not wanting to believe she was a seer.
She had not said this before.
If she knew, how did Kash even steal a pearl from her?
"Because I will be the one to put you behind the bars where you truly belong, you bitch."
The voice turned completely clear, and I gasped, stepping away from the water.
Then I saw Iris appear from the side, holding a remote in her hand. She pointed it toward the far end and switched it off.
My jaw met the floor as it began to make sense.
