Chapter 342-I Am Just So Wicked
Lara:
Both of us looked defeated as we walked upstairs. It was a huge thing.
It made my father realize that his crown had been taken from him, and in return, his daughter was about to be divorced.
We were being treated with great injustice.
"Yeah, let you get some rest," my father said, his voice low.
I felt bad for him.
All of this was happening because of Iris, and I had not even told my father yet that the child was not Kash’s.
I just did not know how to say it.
Then I wondered if that was it.
Would he wait for the DNA test, or would he come to collect me and throw me in prison?
They had thrown Markus in prison, but my father would never let that happen, I convinced myself.
I held my father’s hand and walked upstairs.
Once inside my bedroom, I started to cry again.
My father sat beside me on the bed, probably wondering how to comfort me, but there was no comforting me anymore.
The only comfort I wanted was Iris, Kash’s arms, and I had lost that.
"Calm down. Everything will be okay. We will speak with him. Once the baby is born, he will not be able to stay away from him. Do not worry," my father said gently, holding my hand between his.
Little did he know his daughter was in a huge mess, but I would not tell him for now. He must have been tired of cleaning up after me.
"Father," I whispered, shifting in my seat.
"Do you know that the Crown was not the only thing Kash wanted?"
I spoke softly, making my father frown at me.
"What do you mean? What else did he want?" my father asked.
Concern took over his face, as it seemed his own daughter had been hiding so much from him.
"Lara, tell me, what else did he take from me?" my father insisted, the urgency in his voice making me feel bad.
"He wanted access to the Blue River water, and he got it. He obtained a pearl, twice. One for his son, and one for Iris."
As I said those words, I watched my father’s jaw clench.
"And you knew about it?" I knew my father would ask me that. He looked so betrayed.
"Do you have any idea, Lara, what you two have done? What if the monster got angry? What if she attacked us?" my father yelled, running both hands through his hair as if he might pull it out.
"I’m so sorry, but look, everything is fine now. The monster... we survived her," I said, starting to panic as I tried to explain it to my father.
"So he fucking betrayed me?" he grunted.
Before I noticed, he started to calm down.
"We can use it against him," my father said, smiling.
That made me look at him with hope.
"How? How can we bring him down?" I asked.
I was not going to let Iris enjoy him. If he was not mine, he should not be hers either.
"The Blue River water has been secured for a reason. The council, the entire territory, the whole world is afraid of the monster that lives there. If Kash has taken the pearl from it, then he has unleashed its anger." my father’s words made me smile.
It was another broken smile because I was trying to convince myself that everything was fine, that we could take revenge on Kashand Iris by not letting them enjoy each other’s company.
"I can use that against him," my father said, nodding to himself as if convincing himself it would bring us peace.
"As for now, you rest. Nothing will happen to you. Do you hear me?" my father assured.
That was the difference between Markus and me. Markus had no one. My father was a former Alpha King, and I knew he would be able to save me.
I lay down on the bed and pretended to sleep because I knew my father would not leave until he was sure I had fallen asleep. Once he was convinced, he quietly left the room.
I got up and went to the bathroom, standing in front of the mirror and staring at myself.
"I cannot let Kash find out or prove to the council that I cheated on him, that I lied about the father of my baby," I muttered, gently touching my belly.
The child was not going to stay for long anyway. So I had to do what I had to do.
I mean, I did not want a child with anyone else.
Ever since I arrived, not once had I thought about my other children.
It was even a shame that I had to call them my children.
So getting rid of this one was not a big deal for me.
I was not emotionally attached to it. I was going to discard this one as well.
This time, because I had learned from my previous lesson, I was not going to tell my father and make him cautious about what I was going to do.
Previously, there had also been an issue.
They told me that if I aborted my child, I might never get pregnant again.
So I let it slide, but this time I did not speak about it with anyone, and no one told me there would be an issue.
Instead of letting someone fool me again, I was just going to go through with it.
I walked outside and called for my trusted man, asking him to bring me a very special medicine.
As I waited for him, I paced anxiously around the room.
"Do not worry. I will have a child soon. Just not this one," I murmured.
I was still young and healthy. Even if I lost this child, I would have many chances to have others. This one was simply not it.
At night, when everyone else had gone to bed, I stood in the bathroom, staring at my reflection in the mirror as I took the medicine with tears in my eyes. All of this had happened because of Iris.
One day, I will punish her for it. She will cry tears of blood just like I had to.
After taking the medicine, I went back to my bedroom and lay down on the bed.
However, halfway through the night, I began to feel the pain I had expected. But the pain quickly grew unbearable.
"Father, Father," I started to scream when I could no longer tolerate it silently.
It felt as if someone had poked a needle from the inside out, and then began tearing open my insides.
"Dad!" I screamed even louder this time.
I heard footsteps rushing upstairs and then reaching my room.
My father slammed the door open, and I watched his eyes widen when he noticed the trail of blood I had left on the bedsheet as I tried to crawl out and fell to the ground.
"What is going on?" my father yelled, approaching me in worry.
I started to shake my head and pointed at him to save me, but at the same time, I did not know why the pain was so intense.
"Daddy, look, something is wrong. I don’t know why I’m bleeding," I began to cry, and tears started to fall from my eyes. My body was shaking badly.
There was a strange sadness on my father’s face. As he approached me, I watched him drop to his knees and start to cry before he held my arms and helped me up.
He then carried me in his arms and led me downstairs.
"Get the car ready. We are taking her to the hospital."
There was no urgency in his voice, almost as if he already knew whatever damage was supposed to happen to me had happened.
When we were in the car, my father kept my head in his lap. He started to sing lullabies, the ones he used to sing whenever I was upset.
I did not understand how my condition could get so bad. I thought the miscarriage would happen in silence, or maybe this was just a part of it.
Maybe after this, I would be fine. Miscarrying this late was not something small.
He started to run his hands through my hair. I felt his tears drop on my forehead and my cheek.
"I hope, my daughter, you are not regretting marrying Kash, because that is a lot of regret in the same night," he uttered, crying loudly.
"I wish I had protected you better. I wish I had stopped you from marrying Kash. He ruined you."
He stopped as he leaned back in the seat, resting his head and crying hysterically.
Did he know that this pain brought upon me was my own doing, that I had caused it?
I closed my eyes so I would not see his face, because honestly, he was right.
There was a lot of regret in me that night, one being that my father was so clueless about how cruel and wicked his daughter could be.
I mean, he knew what I was.
