After Breaking Up, I Married the General

Ryzel had continued studying the plants on the planet, trying to find some that could neutralize the poison, for another week, but he still had no progress regarding it.

He had only managed to continuously update his plant database according to the findings of the effects of all the plants that he had studied.

He had just finished studying all the plants that he had, together with the few that Layton had just picked up for him again.

He had also tried different combinations according to the effects of the plants that he had studied, but there’s still no result for the time being.

Aside from studying the plants that he had, he had also been studying the effect of water on the poisonous substance.

Unfortunately, the water could indeed neutralize the poison when it encounters the water, but when the poison had already entered the system of plants and animals, water wouldn’t be effective any longer.

He had been trying to find why it wasn’t effective anymore, but he still hasn’t found out why.

The equipment he has for researching other things was really lacking, as most of the things that he has were only those that were more useful on plants, as he was indeed focused on making potions using plants.

So, his analyzers for other things were slower and weren’t detailed enough compared to when they were analyzing plants.

If he wanted to continue studying the water components and other things, it would certainly take a long time.

But since Layton was still busy mining for their energy crystals, and he doesn’t have any more plants for research, he would just continue studying about it and also continue studying the plants he has for a more in-depth research while they were still staying in the frozen land.

He’ll just try to study them again just in case he missed something and also try a different approach in handling them again.

"You’re already done?" Layton said when he saw him getting out of his lab, even though it isn’t even lunch time yet.

"Yes, I haven’t made any progress yet even after I finished studying all the plants that I have, so I’ll be taking a break for the rest of the day and tomorrow."

"Take your time, you can definitely make more progress later," Layton said while preparing some of the things that he needed for cooking as he was preparing something again.

"I know, that’s why I’ll continue studying them again later, trying another approach to see if I could find something else that I haven’t managed to find while studying them for the past weeks."

Researching something will always take some time, and Ryzel was already used to it.

When researching something new, he could certainly immediately find something for the first few days or weeks, and then afterwards the research pace would slow down again until he finds a new breakthrough.

It was also the same with other researchers, so Ryzel was already used to it as nothing is instantaneous. But of course, if it wasn’t a difficult matter, then he could probably finish it all in a few days.

Unfortunately, he was researching something entirely new that he wasn’t even familiar with, so it would probably still take more time.

"That’s good. Now that you’re taking a break, do you want to do something else?"

"Yeah, I haven’t visited inside the places where you guys were mining. Can I also enter it to look at those energy crystals closely?"

"You’ve already seen those energy crystals. If you want to see more, just bring out some more from our storage."

"Yes, I’ve already seen them, but I still wanted to see how they look while they’re still underground."

"Ok, then we can visit, but only for a few minutes. The environment underground isn’t good and certainly isn’t for those with your physique."

"I know, I’m just a bit curious, so I’ll only go there for a while."

When Layton had first dug up the energy crystals, he only saw the pit that was dug and then the purple crystals that they dug up.

However, this time, Layton had detected that those energy crystals were deeper underground.

They had already been digging for the past week, and Layton said that aside from the pit, they had already dug a tunnel below to facilitate their mining.

So, Ryzel just wanted to go there and see how those energy crystals look underground.

"Good, then we will go after lunch."

Since he doesn’t have anything further to do, he just sat on the sofa while watching Layton cook again.

It seemed that lately he was enjoying watching Layton move around the kitchen more than before.

Well, he really doesn’t have anything to do other than watch Layton, as he couldn’t access any news or forums yet, so he doesn’t have much to pass the time while he wasn’t busy with his research.

Layton cooked a few dishes and put them aside, then put some meat and other things in the pot and went to sit beside him, and then pulled him onto his lap.

"You’re not going to continue watching it?"

"No, it will take an hour or more before it’s ready," Layton said while his hands were already inside his shirt and lazily caressing his waist up to his chest.

Both of them obviously had nothing more to do, so they were easily provoked by each other.

Ryzel had already stopped thinking about his research, as he had already planned to rest until tomorrow, so he was even more easily provoked by Layton’s caresses.

So, he just let Layton’s hands wander around and even practically turned around to have a passionate kiss with Layton.

In the end, they ended up having a very late lunch as they didn’t rush anything and enjoyed themselves slowly.

After resting for a bit, Ryzel put on his thick protective suit and protective cover before Layton carried him towards the mining area.
