The place where Layton was mining wasn’t far from where they had set up their tent, so they arrived quickly.

Layton asked what he wanted to see and told him about it, "You should have mentioned it a while ago, then we could have postponed coming here so that those machines could have dug more areas without removing the energy crystals yet.

How about we return here tomorrow? I’ll let those machines continue digging some areas so that you can see more."

"No need, seeing this is enough. I was just curious about how they looked while still being mined."

"No, some people have entered this area. They’re still 5 kilometers away from this area. Do you want to take a look?"

"Yes, let’s go and see who those people were as they’re actually venturing into this frozen land," Ryzel immediately said.

"Okay, let’s go. I still have to go and check, and I don’t want to leave you here," Layton said and then called Storm, who was still at the pit supervising the gathering of those energy crystals.

"You guys really have good senses," Ryzel said enviously. Those people were still 5 kilometers away, but Layton actually managed to detect them without even needing Storm at all.

Layton chuckled and said, "Yes, with my level I can even sense farther. However, we often don’t set our senses free for that far because the noise that we can hear is also very taxing to our mental sea as we would be receiving a lot of information.

That’s why when Storm is around, I would only open my senses for 500 meters to avoid information overload as well as to avoid getting more pollution from our surroundings.

As for the other sentinels, most of the time they wouldn’t want to open their senses even for 500 meters, so most of the time they were only opening their senses for around 20 meters.

Of course, if we sentinels are in the battlefield, we have to open our senses farther to react properly as well as command others immediately, even without relying on Storm and other mechas as their reaction time wouldn’t be as good as when sentinels are fully controlling them. "But most of the sentinels are wearing sensory blockers, right? Can they still detect a lot even with those blockers?" Ryzel asked.

Ryzel could only voice out his praise again, as Layton was indeed very amazing. He has very strong mental fortitude and perseverance to continue enduring the chaotic pollutants in his mental sea and still use his senses to the fullest so that they could continue surviving while fighting a lot of zergs.

He had praised Layton before, and he has no problem in praising him many more times because he was indeed amazing.

Even if he hadn’t been Layton’s partner, he could still praise him as he deserved such praise for fighting for the peaceful lives of a lot of people.

After hearing him praise him, Layton just chuckled and said, "Storm is here, let’s go."

They quickly entered Storm’s cockpit and turned on Storm’s camouflage state again so that they could observe those people who had entered the frozen land quietly.

Since the distance is only 5 kilometers, Storm quickly arrived at the place where he detected the temperature of people.

According to the temperature image that Storm was showing, there were 24 people that entered the frozen land.
