"What are you thinking about? You didn’t even respond when I called you and said that it’s already time to eat."

"It’s nothing, I was just thinking that you are really handsome!" Ryzel immediately said with a smile.

"Really?"

"Yes," Ryzel said with a nod. Well, he always thought that Layton was handsome, so it’s not really a lie at all.

"You also look very beautiful," Layton said and gave him a quick kiss.

"Of course, I am!" Ryzel said with confidence.

Layton chuckled and just gave him another kiss. Then he carried him while saying, "Since you want to start researching early, then let’s go and eat already."

After eating, he started his research again while Layton was still at his side, watching over him.

When he finished handling the dangerous liquid and was focused on analyzing the results, Layton said that he was going out and he should quickly call him if something happened or if he was going to deal with those poisonous substances again.

Ryzel was already focused on what he was doing, so he only gave Layton a brief nod and continued his research.

For a week, Ryzel continued studying the substance while Layton was also going outside to check the energy crystals as well as doing the preliminary steps to successfully convert those crystals into energy that they could use.

After a week, he finally had a good understanding of the poisonous substance that they got.

The element in the substance that causes the particular poisoning of the things around it could not be activated when it was in the presence of water; that’s why when it was in water, it wouldn’t cause any poisoning around it and it would just scatter and dissipate afterwards.

Its activation period is also not long after leaving the body of the sea creatures, which is why it wouldn’t cause any poisoning when it’s in water.

However, when it was on land, it acted differently, as it could easily activate and could easily affect plants and other living things in its area.

So, Ryzel studied them for a bit and improved them by changing some of their concentrations to be more effective as a barrier against the poisonous substance.

The substance wasn’t in the records that he had in the Federation, so he already knew that there might be nothing that could effectively remove or neutralize it yet.

So, afterwards, he focused on studying plants and other things that could effectively neutralize the poison.

Since it came from the planet that they were on, he first focused on studying the effects of plants on the planet that they were on.

After two weeks of staying in the same area, they finally managed to get the energy crystals that were for them and planned to look for more, so Ryzel had to pause what he was studying even though he hadn’t found something that would be effective yet.

They slowly traveled around the frozen land and after roaming around for almost a day, the detector finally reacted, which means it had successfully detected energy sources again.

Layton went to check it out first to see if the detector really detected enough energy crystals for them to mine, and when they were finally sure that there were indeed enough, they stopped in the area and Layton had to clean a place to set their tent up again.

The place where they had detected the energy source again was also in a mountain range just like before, so Layton had to flatten an area out to set up their tent properly.

Afterwards, Layton started working with the energy crystals that they got while the tools that they have continued mining.

Ryzel also continued studying the plants and continued studying their data and simulating them to see if they could remove the poisonous substance if it had already entered the body.
