Chapter 219: Evolved Chimera III
Battle 5
An Earth Chimera, formed from a combination of a Gorilla, Rhinoceros, and Armadillo, stood before its opponents: Darek, Carter, and Mordren, the leader of Deadwatch.
Mordren was a half-elf and half-human. He wore light armor, wielded a scythe, and could use the nature element.
The battle began as the Chimera charged toward them.
Carter immediately told the others to get aside. The patterns across his armor began to glow as he charged forward and tackled the Chimera with tremendous force.
The two were now locked in a deadlock, each trying to overpower the other.
Darek attempted to launch a sneak attack, but the Chimera responded by using its earth element to launch heavy projectiles toward both Darek and Mordren, keeping them occupied.
Neither Darek nor Mordren had much difficulty dealing with the projectiles individually. However, the continuous attacks left them with no opportunity to assist Carter, who was gradually being overwhelmed by the Chimera.
Carter tried to activate another skill of his armor, but the Chimera recognized that he was preparing something.
It stopped launching projectiles and instead used its earth element to make a huge chunk of the ground rise upward, sending Carter flying.
With Carter out of the way, the Chimera turned its attention toward the remaining two and decided to charge at Darek.
Darek stood ready and activated "Terratory."
A massive wave of earth pulsed through the area, creating uneven terrain. However, this was exactly what Darek wanted.
He jumped from one spot to another, using the terrain he had created to his advantage as he attacked the Chimera. Even when the beast charged directly at him, the terrain would suddenly launch rocks toward it from unexpected directions, damaging it.
Frustrated, the Chimera began punching the ground in an attempt to destroy the uneven terrain.
But no matter how many times it struck, the terrain kept regenerating, returning to the form Darek intended.
Meanwhile, Carter and Mordren waited for their opportunity to join the fight.
And so, the fifth battle was underway as well.

Battle 6
The Chimera in this battle was a fusion of an Eagle, Wolf, and Manta Ray. It was a Wind Chimera.
Facing it were Iris and Damon from Deadwatch, Iria from The Coil, Orion, the leader of The Horizon, and Eris from Wild Slayers.
Iris was a calm and composed mage who wore a purple cloak. She could use both the shadow element and illusion magic, making her suited for a support role.
Damon was also a mage, but his fighting style was quite different from Iris's. He was a sword mage who used his energy element to create swords and fight with them.
He wore light blue armor and maintained a serious expression. He would take the frontline role alongside Orion.
Then there was Iria, another mage who could use the earth element. She was a cheerful person who enjoyed the moment, and her face showed both eagerness to fight and nervousness about letting everyone down.
Next was Orion, a swordsman who wielded the energy element.
He had a habit of laughing all the time, even at the lamest jokes. In fact, when he saw Damon, he immediately laughed and said, "You use a sword made of energy, and I channel energy into my sword… What a coincidence!"
He continued laughing while Damon simply stared at him, unable to understand why he found that funny. It wasn't even a joke.
Nevertheless, Damon put the matter aside, as the two of them were going to fight together on the frontline.
Finally, there was Eris, who would act as their long-range support.
She was a water-element bow user and a shy person who had difficulty interacting with others. Now, she had to fight alongside people she had never even spoken to before.
She was anxious, but she also wanted to take this opportunity to prove herself. Although she stood some distance away from the others, she was determined to contribute to the battle.
With everyone in position, the sixth battle was about to begin as well.

Battle 7
A combination of a Crocodile, Shark, and Anglerfish had fused to create this Water Chimera.
Facing it were Pierre, Cherry, and Alisha.
All three were captains of Golden Paradox, and they shared excellent chemistry, especially Pierre and Alisha.
This was obviously not going to be an easy fight, but all three had confidence in themselves and trusted one another's abilities.
The Chimera used its water element to create a small region filled with water, allowing it to swim swiftly through the area. It seemed prepared to do so from the very beginning, as it didn't take long for it to create the watery battlefield.
For the first few minutes, the Chimera remained underwater, occasionally leaping out to attack.
It would attempt to bite one of them while in the air, then shoot water bullets toward the other two.
The three managed to dodge every bite attack, but they still took damage from the water bullets.
This continued for a minute.
Then, all three exchanged smiles at the same time, as though something had suddenly clicked in their minds.
Even though they were at a disadvantage, none of them seemed particularly troubled by the situation.
It appeared that things were about to get interesting in this battle soon enough.
