Chapter 218: Evolved Chimera II
Battle 3
An Energy Chimera, formed from a combination of a Serpent, Owl, and Dragon, stood against three Dragonkind: Veynaris, Ysellia, and Zhyragos.
The Chimera began attacking them with energy rings released from its wings. It was incredibly fast, forcing Veynaris to use his psychic powers to create a shield. The energy rings struck the shield one after another, exploding upon impact.
Taking advantage of the smoke, Zhyragos leaped toward the Chimera, intending to punch it down. However, the Chimera simply maintained its distance, hovering at an incredible speed. Its movements were so fast that they almost looked like teleportation, though the three weren't entirely sure.
As Zhyragos continued chasing it, the Chimera repeatedly fired energy rings at him. He dodged some and punched others away, but the attacks were still taking their toll. After receiving several hits, even the hard scales covering his fists had become slightly burned.
Yet Zhyragos simply smiled.
Ysellia called out to him, asking him to remain calm and suggesting that they fight together as a group.
He smiled and replied, "Okay… I take the charge. You two support me."
And just like that, they had to go along with Zhyragos's plan.
Ysellia began using her water element to keep Zhyragos from burning himself too much, while Veynaris used his psychic powers to block some of the incoming energy rings. Meanwhile, Zhyragos continued charging toward the Chimera.
At one point, however, the Chimera suddenly changed its movements.
In an instant, it appeared behind Ysellia and blasted her away with an energy orb at point-blank range.
The sudden attack shocked the other two. Before either could react, the Chimera appeared behind Zhyragos and blasted him away as well.
Zhyragos tried to block the attack, but he was too late.
The Chimera then moved toward Veynaris. However, the moment it appeared behind him, it was the one that got blasted away, thanks to Veynaris's psychic defence.
Although Zhyragos had taken a hit, he was still standing. Seeing an opportunity, he quickly flew toward the Chimera while it was being pushed back and punched it straight into the ground.
Ysellia got back up as well and immediately activated "Blue Fang Torrent."
Water streams wrapped around her double-edged sword as she unleashed a rapid, continuous combination of sword strikes.
Then, the Chimera began to glow.
Its light grew brighter and brighter, making it seem as though it was about to blast itself apart.
Veynaris immediately called both of them back and used his powers to protect them.
The Chimera released a massive burst of energy, blasting everything in the surrounding area.
As the smoke gradually cleared, the Chimera was once again hovering in front of them, completely unharmed.
It looked as though nothing had happened, as if the battle had only just begun for it.
The third battle was underway as well.

Battle 4
The fourth battle featured an Ice Chimera with the characteristics of a Polar Bear, Snow Leopard, and Owl. It was a silent, sleek, and powerful predator.
Standing against it were Carrick and Vera from Iron Squad, Rook from Wave Crew, and Lance from The Horizon.
Carrick was the leader of Iron Squad. He had a lean body and a small amount of facial hair. He wore armor and wielded a shield as his weapon, using the fire element.
He was brave and served as both a tank and a vanguard. However, he was also a lethal attacker when the situation called for it.
Vera was Carrick's childhood friend and the co-leader of Iron Squad. She wore armor as well and also used the fire element, but her weapon of choice was a sword. She was incredibly quick on her feet, and her eyes were filled with fearlessness.
Alongside them stood Lance and Rook.
Rook had an outgoing personality. He enjoyed every moment and cherished the present rather than dwelling on the past or worrying about the future.
He wielded heavy chains as his weapon and used the lightning element. His fighting style was playful and almost unpredictable, making it difficult for his opponents to anticipate his movements.
Lastly, there was Lance.
He wore a long coat, with a muffler covering his mouth and a monkey cap on his head. His expression was almost completely blank, and he held a sword in his hand. He was capable of using the ice element.
As Lance looked at the Ice Chimera, he began thinking to himself.
There are already two fire element users here against an ice element opponent. I probably won't have to do much.
He had already decided to take it easy, believing that he wouldn't need to contribute much to the fight.
The Ice Chimera roared and charged toward them, surrounded by an icy aura that froze the ground as it moved.
As the group prepared to face it, Carrick and Vera took the front line. Rook patiently stood a little farther away, ready to attack from a distance.
Lance, meanwhile, simply stood where he was.
And so, the fourth battle began as well.
