Chap 157: Gojo

"Hey Geto-kun, tell me about your curse technique." Gojo asked with pleading puppy eyes, not that Geto can see them. It was hidden behind the glasses of her.

"You know it when I let you know."

"Awwww....no fair, you already know mine."

"That's because everyone knows the Gojo clan family technique." Leiri added, the empty white stick of a lollipop rolled around in her mouth. "Not to mention the prodigy that has both the six eyes and limitless at the same time."

Geto has to consider if her classmate was secretly an addict, given the way Hoko keeps something in his mouth.

"Why don't you pester Hoko if you're so interested in curse technique?"

"Oh, you know, I'm not that good with the gentlemen." Spouting bullshit straight out of the gate. Gojo just laughed. It was loud, and a bit obnoxious at that, but it was genuine.

Geto saw how the boys from other classes reacted to her. She was posing for them, doing all sorts of lewd hand suggestions in BROAD DAYLIGHT!

If she hadn't yanked Gojo and Hoko away, they might have faced detention on the first day of school. Or maybe worse, Geto doesn't know what the treatment of Jujutsu towards delinquents is, and she doesn't plan on finding that out.

Geto knew Gojo didn't know what reverse curse technique was and she was too shy to admit it, so she had to play it cool.

Because Geto also didn't understand what that was. Hell, Hoko himself didn't know what it was, but he said it let him heal people so she had it to go off. And no way she is going to explain it to the smug white hair teen, she can use that info to tease her all day.

The school provides its students with all sorts of places, swimming pools, cafeteria, hell, there's even a small cinema that was rumored to be built in some hidden, closed-off zone.

The trio is at the training ground, just them, in uniform, the school lets their uniform be freely customized as long as it fits the regulations.

Suguru had opted out of the usual long skirt she had been forced to wear throughout her schooling in favor of loose pants that were cuffed at the ankle. She felt it was much more comfortable to wear, and it allowed her more mobility in combat.

Gojo was wearing a short skirt uniform. Hers was more form-fitting, and black thigh-high socks emphasized her height and her slender frame, but still untraditional for a girl. Her white, messy hair framed her face, it was probably too annoying for her to tie it back in a ponytail, so the teen just let it flow freely, unlike the way Suguru’s was tied neatly together.

Hoko was the most normal between them, wearing a traditional shirt and pants for boys. Nothing special is going on, maybe for the small pocket inside his shirt that Hoko so fondly uses to store an endless amount of candies inside.

"Yo, you three are early?" Takumi said, appearing behind them like a ghost.

Except for Hoko who got a good jump, Geto and Gojo didn't react. Outwardly, that is. In truth, the two girls didn't know how the hell he got so close without noticing him.

"When I said, I'll be evaluating you three, you do know what that means, yes?"

"Ye, ye, ye, basically, you're going to fight us, right, I'm ready as I always be."

"She meant she'll be grading us on how well we use our curse energy."

"Same thing, all the sorceresses do every day is fight curse spirits anyway."

"No." Takumi cuts them, serious and stern. "That is not what all jujutsu is all about. You are more than that, what you do every day is to help people, and the way you help them does not end with how powerful your attack is or how many curses you can kill."

His words made them go quiet; even the loud-mouthed Gojo didn't have a sarcastic joke to fire back.

"Sorcerer in general and you in particular should learn to be more than that, more than just a weapon."

There was a long pause between them, Takumi let those words settle into their mind before continuing. Follow current novels on n͟o͟v͟e͟l͟f͟i͟r͟e͟.net

"Now that we've got those heavy feelings out of the way, here's how this is going to happen. The order in which you three will be coming up is: Gojo, Geto, and Hoko."

"Wait, why do I have to do it? I'm not proficient in fighting."

"As I said, jujutsu is more than fighting, and for you to be able to keep up with these two monsters, you should learn to do more than just standing in one place doing nothing."

“Alright.” Satori said she stretches her shoulders first, then her arms and legs, making silly theatrical moves. "Don't think just because you're a man that I'll go easy on ya, teach. I'm ready for anything you throw at me."

"Stand here."

Gojo didn't hesitate, she stepped into a circle drawn by Takumi.

"Defend yourself only in this zone, if you move or fall out of it, you fail."

"Pfff, that's it?" Satori teases, beckoning him with her fingers, unable to resist bullying him a little, “I’ll even let you attack me first-“

*Bam!*

Takumi surges forward, he snaps his left arm out, driving his knuckles into the side of Satori’s face.

The blow is sharp and precise, hard enough to throw him off balance without flooring him. Satori reels back a step, almost stumbling out of the small circle. Surprise flashes behind her dark lenses as the sunglasses slip askew, teetering on the bridge of her nose.

"Wait!" She had both arms raised up, and blood was coming out from one side of her nose. *Cough* "I wasn't ready."

*whistle* "You go, girl, show him what you're made of!" Cheering from the side, Geto was smiling brightly and pumping her fist into the air.

"See that Gojo, you have a fan hyping you up, better not fail them." Takumi said, arm winding up for another punch.

Gojo, still dazed from the first punch, funnels more curse energy into her six eyes. Pushing her shade up with her index finger, the girl didn't let him escape her field of view.

How long has someone landed a hit on her ?

Gojo is not as easy to land a blow when she is actually focused, but her teacher is surprisingly good at hand-to-hand combat.

Try as she might, there was simply no window for Gojo to make a counterattack. The punches came too fast, and mid-combat, he would throw random knives from nowhere to make her spend more curse energy to defend. Using both the limitless and six eyes is draining her fast, Gojo try to think, but that's when the slip-up happen, where she was open for another shot to the face, or to her kidney.

The biggest problem is somehow this guy was able to bypass her limitless. Till this day, she can't figure out how he can just bring his fist through what is essentially a wall of infinite space.

Straining her Six eyes, all Gojo could tell that it was curse energy but warpped in a way she couldn't tell what it is exactly.

Yet, in the face of an imminent attack, Gojo's expression didn't change. If anything, she only feels more excited to fight someone so strong.

She smirked and craned her neck away from a knife whisking by her hair. Her body was in an uncomfortable position to dodge again, so she buckled her hips and braced for Takumi's next punch.

*Bam!* It hit her in the gut.

The guy really didn't pull any punches, she can feel her intestines being rearranged.

"Best....first day, ever-" was all she said before the shadow of a fist, coming at Gojo's face, knocking her out.
