Chap 158: Geto
Geto stared at the sprawling body of Gojo, the match she saw wasn't fair at all from her perspective.
Takumi beat the shit out of Gojo while she remained helpless in a circle, unable to fight back.
"My turn then?" Geto half expected to see her teacher saying that he would need a few minutes to recouperate, but no.
"Come on, I don't have all day." Takumi looked nothing like tired; the whole fight was more like a warm-up.
That made Geto a little bit nervous; she was forming multiple battle plans in her mind. Geto know from Gojo's fight that she can't compete with Takumi in hand to hand fight, but if she can bring out her Shikigami then it would be different.
"Oh and no need to worry, we're not fighting." His words cut her thoughts.
"So what do you want me to do?" Suruge asked.
"Show them to me, your Shikigami."
"Like...all of them?"
"Yes, all of them."
Now she was really nervous, Geto hadn't actually tried to call them all out before. Not once in her life where Geto thought about trying to call them all out.
The idea sounded too outlandish for her to ever try. Before knowing about curse energy, she always feared what might happen if she did try to call them out. One or two is fine, maybe three at a time if she tries very hard. But all?
"I'll try, but just a heads up. I've never done this." Nervously, Geto put her fingers together.
Hoko had to take a step back, he had seen his share of curse spirits. Many of them can kill a sorcerer easily, and some of them are quite big.
Geto can summon curse spirit that is both big and deadly. Five, ten, thirty curse spirit was called to her side.
Ranging in all sorts of shapes and sizes, from big bulking beasts, semi-humanoid, ones you can only find in legend.
Hoko's teacher wasn't bluffing when he said that these girls are monsters.
"I can only do this much, are you satisfied, Sensei ?" She lied, of course, there's more, about a hundred of them she hadn't called out yet.
Over the years, Geto has swallowed so many of these curses, most are grade four, so not all of them are that useful in combat. But just to be sure, she won't be showing off all of her summons.
One thing she can ensure is that the ones she just summoned are among her strongest.
"Impressive." He nodded, but Geto suspects there's something more. "Assert them for me, which one you have is grade one ?"
"Hmmmm...." searching through the information she learned, "them." She pointed out three among her army.
At her gesture, the three steps forward, one curse looking like a kitsune.
A fox with white fur and nine tails moving independently. This thing can cast strong illusion that made Geto lost for days.
The next is an oni curse spirit, tall red skin, one eye, wielding a spike black mace. Pure strength when she needs.
The last one isn't even human shape, a karakasa, it's an umbrella with one eye and two hands sticking out of it. Geto uses this curse energy to blast at enemy at range.
"I heard you also have Shikigami under your control, sensei." Smiling, she asks him.
"Yeah, my ten shadows technique." Suddenly, Sugure can feel Takumi's curse energy spiked.
And as if to mirror Geto's own Shikigami, creatures rose out of Takumi's shadow. A bird, an elephant, and a deer.
"Is this the test? Mine Shikigami versus yours?" A single bead of sweat trails down Geto's forehead.
"Something like that, I wanna see how well the control you have over your technique is."
Seeing Takumi in action, Geto immediately set the stage, treating this match as she would a real battle.
Her fox set up walls of thick fog illusion, the person inside can't see more than an inch in front, while Geto has a perfect view of anywhere the fog was set. And the oni will be the front line while she snipes his Shikigami from afar.
"Nice, setting your control on the battlefield, now what?" Takumi causally strode into the fog, not bothered at all.
*Roar!*
Geto's oni charged through the fog, with its mace raised over its head, in a downward strike. Elephant trunk hit its oni face, knocking its mace back just enough so Takumi wouldn't be caught.
'So that's what that one does.' Geto speculates that the elephant might be the muscle of Takumi's group.
'And if so, then the deer must be his support, seeing that it only stands behind him.'
Geto's umbrella was aiming at Takumi's chest, from its tip, a yellow beam came out in a flash.
Takumi gave no reaction to the light closing in, and just as it was about to hit. The beam.... disappeared.
'He blocked my beam? No the beam got dispersed, but how? Is it because of the deer?" Cautiously glancing at it, the deer curse energy is fluctuating weirdly.
She ran to get a shot from a different location, to be interrupted by a big bird slamming into her side. Her eyes were in a disarray, one from being electrocuted and two, being flung into the sky.
Her body exited the fog unwillingly. Geto transported most of her curse energy to the umbrella and whacked the bird hard.
*Wham*
Nue was knocked away, and Geto found herself falling. Opening the umbrella, she was able to slow the fall. Still hit the ground a bit harshly, but she quickly got up.
'First thing I-' the fog was clearing up, which means her kitsune was captured or defeated.
Geto breathes out in ragged gasp, Takumi appears through the fog, holding her Shikigami in his grasp by the neck.
Her oni is lying on the ground not far behind, she would call it to fight, but the elephant stomping on its body had diminished that plan.
"You did well," Takumi praised her. All his Shikigami are intact and fine; hers was nearly killed.
In such a situation, accepting a loss is the logical conclusion, but when Geto glances at Gojo lying on the dirt, she can't help but want to be better than her.
'If she can last for a few minutes, then why can't I?' She rushed at him, firing shots from her umbrella as she ran.
To let her have a chance at fighting Takumi at close range. This is all betting on the chance that Takumi has wasted his stamina on her Shikigami beforehand.
*bang* *bang* *bang*
Three yellow beams all disappeared when they got near Takumi. She didn't care. Geto charged up her curse energy into her umbrella.
If she can't get him from a distance, she will get him in this final hit.
This is it, Geto had the swing lined up perfectly where he stood, and it would hit him in the head.
*Bam!* There was a huge gust of wind and the earth exploded.
Geto can't believe her own eyes, just an elbow block, simple as that, of course, she tore off any piece of fabric on his sleeve and shoulder.
His flesh and body were fully intact, not even showing a bit of damage.
"Hehe.... I.....surrender?" She sheepishly smiled, and Takumi returned the gesture, his smile is visibly darker, he then throw a clean punch that knocked her out.
