Absolute Beast Dominion

Chapter 754: Faith Points?

Chapter 754: Faith Points?

Ding!

>Divine energy of Sun-Flame Dragon God, Heliovar, detected.

>Type: Astra (Independent Energy), evoked through Incantation

>Class: Medium (Pseudo 5-star), Area-Destruction

>Effect: Unleashes an overwhelming torrent of divine sun-flames that engulfs everything within a 5-kilometre radius, subjecting the entire area to temperatures rivalling the surface of the sun and reducing everything caught within the inferno to ashes.

>Condition for usage: High Spiritual Energy and Physical Prowess of User, Adequate Mana Supply (From User/Environment)

>Cost of Usage: 10,000 HeFP (Heliovar Faith Points).

"Huh?"

Leo was baffled.

How had he managed to do anything that required a God’s power to be used against him?

And leaving that aside—

"Is this fucker really using a Divine weapon just to win a fucking competition?!" he exclaimed as he stacked multiple [Mountain Aura Dome] around himself.

Leo didn’t know what this Heliovar, Astra, or Divine energy was; he simply knew it was a power originating from a God, which Azrakar might have obtained somehow, considering he was a beast and the concept of God-Beasts had been known for a long time.

At that moment, the flames descended.

Almost immediately, the whole region flared up in bright flames that began incinerating everything that could burn.

The leaves, the grass, the wood, the trees, and even the air itself caught fire.

And naturally, the dragons and the students of Aurelius Beast Academy were caught in it.

Leo never got the time to reach them and put up barriers, which he didn’t even know would work, because the aura domes didn’t even last a millisecond before they shattered one after the other, ultimately engulfing him in flames.

His skin immediately started to burn as if someone was shooting a death ray from the sky.

And it was when Niri’s [Tough Body] trait was deactivated, or the damage would have been greater and faster.

But that wasn’t true for Niri herself. Since she couldn’t deactivate her traits of will, her body started to burn immediately.

Leo immediately expanded the effective range of [Spiritual Sense] to the maximum he could manage, which was currently only 500 metres.

Unfortunately, Niri wasn’t in range yet—meaning he couldn’t unsummon her.

Thankfully, Nyxa came to the rescue and tried to deploy her own aura reinforcement while tucking Niri under her fur to protect her, at least to a degree.

Leo had no choice but to run through the searing flames. Somehow, miraculously, his [Sunblood Infernal Physique] was still working; he was fine except for some blisters.

A small query with the system revealed that the flames might have been ineffective against him if not for the divine property they had from a God.

The moment he came within range, he immediately unsummoned all his beasts.

And since he could even unsummon Pryde—Lily’s hydra—through the connection Lily had established, he unsummoned him too.

Unfortunately, Drycha and Lunaria couldn’t be unsummoned, as their spirit bodies cracked and, after being defeated, their essence travelled into Lily’s body high up in the sky.

Lily herself was terribly burned all over while she tried her best to counter the flames with her skills. Solvyr was in a better position as he tried to move toward Lily to shield her.

And naturally, the Aurelius students and their beasts had already been defeated and teleported away.

Even Sylrael.

Though Leo failed to notice it, Kaelion was the very first person to be teleported away.

Louis knew Kaelion would be defeated in the flames, so he didn’t wait for him to get injured. Because, unlike the others, he couldn’t be healed.

As the flames continued to descend, even the dragons weren’t spared. All the 3-star dragons were defeated and transported away, while the Pseudo 4-star ones managed to counter the flames to a great degree before they were also transported away.

Among the Low 4-star dragons, the only one defeated was the one Kaelion was fighting, and he had already injured it. The rest of the dragons survived because of their heat and physical resistance.

Even Vulcarion and Vorthak—in their injured state—survived the extreme heat because of their tolerance.

Though no one knew how long they could manage against this continuous stream of death rays that had even melted the ground into a molten form.

Then he realised something.

The danger wasn’t that great.

After reading the system’s notification again, he noticed something.

Class: Medium (Pseudo 5-star), Area Destruction

System! What does that mean? Leo asked quickly.

>A medium-class, area-destruction Astra can affect up to 10 kilometres, guaranteeing the elimination of any being of the 4-star realm that comes into contact with the flames unless they have a special defensive tool.

Hearing that, Leo’s worry vanished.

Then why does it say Pseudo 5-star when it can’t kill a Pseudo 5-star, and it even seems that beings in the 4-star realm aren’t guaranteed to be killed? Leo asked.

>Because it can cause area destruction at a Pseudo 5-star being’s level. A medium-class Pseudo 5-star single-target Astra guarantees the elimination of any Pseudo 5-star being unless they have an equal-category defensive tool.

Leo finally understood. It seemed that the energy required to kill a Pseudo 5-star being was being spread over an area of 10 kilometres.

So if all the sun-flames had been concentrated in one place, they might have eliminated a Pseudo 5-star being and could have actually injured him gravely.

But even then, it wouldn’t have eliminated Leo, as he was stronger; in other words, he was safe even now.

After the continuous rays lasted for 10s of seconds, the flames finally started to subside, slowly revealing a lush land turned barren.

Every tree and plant in the area had vanished after being completely burned; the ground was like molten lava throughout the 5-kilometre radius, making it seem like a lava pool.

The half region of Oreback Behemoth that was caught in the range was like molten rock and metal flowing down the slope and accumulating downwards.

The dragons?

They were literally half-submerged in the molten ground as they struggled to regain their senses.

Leo was flying mid-air and was fine.

Even Lily managed to survive it all, while Solvyr kept her from falling when her wind manipulation failed in such extreme heat. She was currently in extreme pain while overworking herself to spam the healing skill and patch her body up.

As for the main player high up in the sky?

Azrakar was blanked out.

The toll on his body from using the Astra in an already half-dead state had been extreme. He couldn’t move a single muscle, and his exhausted spiritual energy immediately put him to sleep as he fell through the sky.

Leo saw no immediate danger and flew up to Lily. By then, she had healed her body to a great degree and could barely stand while still struggling to collect herself after her senses were disoriented.

If the ray had lasted a few more seconds, she would have surely been eliminated.

Seeing that she was fine now, Leo had a thought.

If it wasn’t enough to eliminate us, then what was that extremely dangerous aura that I felt?

He thought about the time he had felt the need to flee the attack’s range. But if the attack wasn’t enough to eliminate him and Lily, why did he feel that way?

>Divinity. The host’s body is being damaged—even when it shouldn’t have—by such a minuscule—almost non-existent amount of Dragon God Heliovar’s Divinity, which will ultimately mark the host’s soul in the God’s senses since the host doesn’t have counter-divinity to offset the effect.

>The soul’s danger signals were simply meant to ensure its safety by warning the Host to be wary of the divinity.

Huh? What? I am marked by what?
