Chapter 317: Teasing
When she heard someone knocking on the door of the cubicle, Kate realized that they might be in trouble.
In the dormitories, there were quite a number of cubicles within the washroom. And at the moment, within the dormitories, apart from them, only two other girls were in.
So, why would someone decide to knock on this cubicle’s door? It was clear that the person on the other side already knew that they were in here, and came specifically for them.
Was it possible, just as Lina had said, that they should be careful, not to be caught? But even then, it had not been long since she made the call, and someone was already here? Wasn’t this too fast?
As she was thinking about this, she gazed towards Lina, only to see that Lina was quite calm. Despite the situation that they were facing, she did not seem panicked at all.
Despite wanting to ask her why she did not seem to be bothered about someone knocking on the door, she did not have the chance, as the person once again knocked on the cubicle’s door.
Kate placed the phone on Lina’s stretched hand. Lina did not say anything in response, as she quickly stashed the phone back into the compartment, before she closed it.
The moment that she did so, Kate realized that the wall had gone back to how it was before, as if there was no secret compartment there.
Despite her amazement, she was wondering how they were supposed to deal with this situation. That was especially if the person on the other side already knew about what she had done.
As she was still worried, Lina did not seem to be bothered, as she went ahead and opened the door of the cubicle.
When the door opened, Kate immediately looked over, realizing that the person outside the door was none other than the dorm matron. She was the one that was in charge of the ladies’ dormitory.
The moment that the door opened, the lady outside, seeming to be in her middle age, said, "I have received instructions, no recruit is allowed to stay in the dormitory. So, you can go around the training camp, but you are not allowed to come back into the dormitory, unless you are given the permission to."
"Okay, I understand." Lina responded as she nodded.
The dorm matron did not linger around, as she immediately turned around and left, after confirming that there was nobody else within the other cubicles.
It was only after she had left that Kate let out a deep breath of relief. She had thought that they had been caught.
In such a situation, there was a high probability that they would be dismissed from the training camp. And more than that, they could also be punished, and the type of punishment, she was unsure of.
Regardless, since this was a government organization, there was a high chance that she might have been sent to prison. And because she was here under the context of extra training from the police force, they might find some excuse to tell her family and others but knew about her, why she disappeared.
Of course, her main concern here was that, she might have lost the chance to get revenge. If she ended up in prison, how would she be able to take revenge?
Despite the relief that she felt, she gazed at Lina, before she asked in a low voice, "Hey, why do you seem unbothered? Were you not worried about being caught?"
"The moment that I heard her coming over, I realized that she was the dorm matron. You can tell by the sound and rhythm of her footsteps.
Even though I told you that you had to hurry, you still had at least 2 minutes, before the call can be detected. So, I wasn’t worried, and knew that she came here for another reason." Lina shrugged as she responded.
"Then why didn’t you tell me? At least, I would not have been so worried, my heart almost flew off." Kate asked in a resentful voice.
Lina seemed to be pleased to see Kate panicking, as she just smiled, teasingly saying, "How was I supposed to tell you, when she was already here? She would have heard me telling you."
Kate simply shook her head at that, deciding not to bother with it. But at least, for now, she had already informed Michael about what was going on here.
And with his assurance, she did not have much pressure. Previously, when she made the decision to proceed with the next segment, of course, there was a lot of pressure on her.
That was the possibility of death that they were talking about. So of course, as a person who was not willing to die, she would feel tremendous pressure.
"Was that your boyfriend that you were talking to just now? I thought that you were calling your mother or maybe grandfather. Unexpectedly, for your last moments of life, you would rather talk to your boyfriend?" Lina asked with an amused smile.
Kate blushed at Lina’s words, understanding that she was just teasing her. But even then, she did not want to admit it.
"What nonsense are you saying? Did you not hear what I just asked him?" Kate asked while pretending to be angry.
During the conversation with Michael, Lina was here the entire time. So of course, while she was whispering, it was impossible for Lina not to hear.
As for why she did not ask for privacy, it was simply because Lina had already done her a favor. Additionally, she did not feel that there was much to hide anyway, as in the conversation, there was not much that would be revealed.
Yes, Lina might ask some questions, but as long as she played everything right, it would not be a problem to be able to get a good excuse to give later on.
"Of course, I heard you. But anyway, didn’t you tell me that you don’t have a boyfriend? But I realized, every time that we get a chance, you usually call him.
Yet here you are, claiming that you don’t have a boyfriend? Do you think that I will believe you?" Lina asked, finding this funny.
She tactically did not ask anything related to what Kate had just been talking about on the phone. This was something that made Kate feel relieved, but at the same time, she felt a little guilty.
Regardless, she decided, in case there was something that they needed to pay attention to in the future, she would make sure to inform Lina about it.
But for now, it was obviously impossible for her to be able to make another call to Michael. They did not have much time inside the dormitory, and it would be much better to leave before the dorm matron came over again.
But even then, from the way that Michael was speaking, it seemed that he already knew about what was happening here. If that was the case, could he possibly know about her relationship with Lina?
If possible, she really hoped that Michael would help out if he could, so that Lina would not have to die, during the next segment of the assessment.
"Let’s go. If she comes back, we will definitely be punished." Kate did not respond to Lina’s question, as she said while leading the way.
Lina did not give up. Instead, she insisted, "Tell me, what is your relationship? Don’t tell me that he is just an ordinary friend or a good friend. I will not believe any of that."
Seeing that Lina was still insisting, Kate reluctantly responded, though she felt shy, "Fine! Actually, he really is not my boyfriend. Still, I already confessed to him, and he did not reject me.
Therefore, I believe that there is a chance for us to be together. But, because I have been here for quite a while, I can only contact him during the breaks that we are given, to make sure that we don’t grow distant."
"Wow! I really did not expect that you would be so straightforward! But I guess that this is to be expected of you?" Lina exclaimed playfully, as a big smile graced her face.
"I will just ignore you. Hmph!" Kate responded as she snorted, before completely ignoring Lina, who was asking for more information.
Lina was quite persistent, as if she had just smelled some gossip. So, she continuously asked, "Since he did not reject you, it means he accepted you, right? If that is the case, then he definitely is your boyfriend.
Hey, are you thinking about going back to meet him? You know, the next segment of the assessment is quite risky, why don’t you just go back and live a happy life with him?"
Just like that, the two ladies left the dormitories, with Lina constantly teasing Kate, who completely refused to talk. But the faint blush on her face was enough to answer most of Lina’s questions.

Ethan was completely fuming. Despite the pain that he was enduring, he really wanted to kill someone at this point.
Having already killed several people, this time, he wanted to kill more than ever. All of these men, he wanted to kill them. Just a bunch of useless people. He would have to ask his uncle later on, to get better people to follow him around.
As he was thinking about this, the group had already carried Ethan to the parking lot. Ethan had come inside his recently acquired Lamborghini Urus, but the guys took him inside one of the vans that they used to come here.
The moment that he was laid on the back seats of the van, the fuming Ethan asked, "What are you idiots thinking? Did I not tell you to kill him? What is the meaning of this?"
