"Hey, stop acting dumb with me. Don’t you already know that all our phones and other electronic devices have already been confiscated? I believe that you already understand why they did that.

It is impossible for us to be able to make a call, even if we make the request to make the call. Additionally, they have just revealed to us, thought not in detail, about something big.

So, even if they could have allowed you to make a call during other times, it is impossible to be able to make a call right now. After all, what would happen if you suddenly leak out the information that they had just given us?" Lina rolled her eyes at Kate as she responded.

Kate of course understood this point. It was just that, she wanted to contact Michael, to confirm with him. If he was not aware about this information, at least, she would let him know.

That way, in case anything happened to her during the time that she was here, he would be able to give the news back to her family.

It seemed that ever since she fell in love, she had actually forgotten about informing her family directly, instead of expecting Michael to do so.

Additionally, if she could be given the chance to contact Michael, why not contact her mother as well? That way, she could give her a heads up, and if not her, she could just contact her grandfather.

Regardless, Kate really wanted to make the call. And other than just asking about Michael’s knowledge about what they had just been informed, there was more to this.

It had not been that long since she communicated with Michael, and it was through a video call. But meeting face-to-face, it had already been over a month since they last saw each other.

So, in her heart, she was unwilling to suddenly disappear from his world, without hearing his response to her feelings. Of course, she would never admit that.

Lina observed Kate for quite a while, and she felt amused, looking at her expression. Eventually, she closed in on Kate and whispered, "Come with me, I will give you a chance to make a call."

"Huh?" Kate, whose thoughts were already wondering about, was left stunned by Lina’s words.

She looked towards Lina, who had already began walking towards the dormitory. At this moment, Kate was puzzled, what did Lina mean?

Could it be that she had some connections within this camp? Could she perhaps have one of the instructors give her a phone, so that she could make a call?

Other than this, she could not think of any other way that Lina would be able to allow her to be able to make a call. After all, all of their electronic devices, not just the phones, had already been confiscated.

It was just that she was left a little puzzled, wondering why Lina was heading towards the dormitories, instead of towards the offices where the instructors were.

Despite her confusion and doubts, she still decided to follow Lina. She didn’t understand why, but she always felt that Lina was kind of a mystery girl.

Not to mention the fact that when it came to the physical training sessions that they had been having for the previous month, Lina always breezed through it all, her combat skills were amazing as well.

And when it came to physical strength, Kate had to admit that she could not compete. Lina was just on another level.

Quickly, the two ladies got to the dormitories, before they headed for the washrooms. Inside one of the cubicles, after locking the door, Lina looked at the confused Kate and smiled.

"Hey, don’t worry, I have my own methods. But, you have to make sure that you make the call as quickly as possible. Otherwise, if they find out that I have a phone here, things will get complicated." Lina whispered, just in case someone came in and overheard her.

Kate subconsciously nodded ahead in agreement, but she still looked confused. The moment that the two of them came back to the dormitories, they headed straight for the washrooms.

So of course, Kate had not seen Lina take anything along the way. So, how was she supposed to make the call?

Under Kate’s confused gaze, Lina knocked twice on the wall of the washroom, before a hidden compartment suddenly opened.

This left Kate completely dumbfounded, wondering how that compartment had appeared. Additionally, even if it was there, how did Lina even notice it?

Despite the many questions that she was having in her mind, she did not ask, as she observed Lina stretching her hand and inserting it into the compartment.

The compartment that had opened up was quite small, just enough for a hand to go through. And inside, it was kind of dark, making it impossible for Kate to be able to tell what was inside it.

Within just a few seconds, Lina pulled out her hand, and she was holding a phone. Of course, it was not a smartphone, but a very small button phone, small enough that it can completely fit in the palm of her hand, before enclosing the fingers around it.

"You have memorized the contact number of the person that you want to call, right?" Lina asked, bringing Kate back to her senses.

"Yes." Kate responded as she quickly nodded her head.

Lina nodded back, before handing over the phone. And when Kate took it, she realized that the phone was actually on.

Even though the phone was small, Kate realized that it operated the same way that a normal phone would. Of course, this phone was quite simple, lacking quite a number of features that could be found in a smartphone.

But that was not her concern at the moment, as she only needed to make a call.

Subconsciously, she began dialing the number, before she made the call. As she brought the phone close to her ears, she felt her heart thumping slightly, as she felt a little nervous.

Lina seemed to notice her reaction, making her feel even more amused, but she said nothing, just continuing to observe from the side.

The call went through, which made Kate feel relieved. And as she waited for the other end to receive the call, she began getting a little anxious.

What they were doing right now was illegal. So, they had to complete it as fast as possible, to avoid any further complications.

So, she just hoped that the call would be received, so that she could pass on the information that she wanted as fast as possible.

Just about two rings later, the call was received, and Michael’s voice came through the phone’s earpiece, making Kate feel relieved.

"Hey, are you already on another break?" Michael’s voice seemed surprised, which was something that Kate had already anticipated.

She whispered in response, "No, but there is something that I need to inform you. I think there is a possibility of the presence of humans with special abilities within this organization.

One of the instructors, yesterday, during the combat assessment, demonstrated jumping abilities that are beyond human capabilities.

And today, we have just been informed that there is another segment of the assessment that we are going to undergo. There is a high probability of death, but as long as we succeed, we can achieve what the other instructor showcased yesterday."

"Huh? This is what you wanted to tell me? I thought that you called because you were missing me?" Michael’s response left Kate completely baffled.

What was up with this guy? And when did he start teasing her like this? Additionally, could he not get serious for a moment? The information that she had just informed him, did he not hear even a single word that she had said?

Otherwise, his attitude would definitely not be like this. He should have been surprised, or at least he should have reacted differently.

Was it really possible that he already knew about this? If so, why did he not warn her in advance? Could it be possible that he wanted her to make the decision herself?

As those questions emerged in her mind, Michael, upon not receiving a response for a few seconds, continued, "Hey, you don’t need to worry about the next segment of the assessment.

I already possess detailed information on this organization, though, this part of the information is something that I acquired after you have already joined this organization.

But don’t worry, in case I find any information that you need to know, I will make sure to inform you about it.

For the next segment, you can proceed with confidence, I got you covered. So, you don’t really need to worry about the possibility of you dying. At least, not under my watch."

At Michael’s words, Kate was momentarily shocked, while at the same time, she felt relieved. But listening to his final words, a faint blush appeared on her cheeks, something that Lina noticed.

"What watch are you talking about? You are far away from where I am, so it is impossible for you to watch for me. But don’t worry, I will listen to you, because I trust you." Kate eventually responded.

"By the way, how did the combat assessment go? No complications occurred, right? After all, I believe that not many people can be your opponents when it comes to fighting." Michael then inquired.

Kate was just about to respond when suddenly, the two ladies heard the sound of footsteps approaching. Then before they could react, someone knocked on the door of the cubicle, making Kate shocked and panicked, to the extent that she immediately ended the call.
