Chapter 383: Hu Fei’s Gameplay
"Master Sima Ye... I’m telling the truth..." Lee said while he tried to sit up straight using his hand holding onto the table.
"The truth? You think I wouldn’t suspect that those men were indeed from the Hu Clan.
"And after being found out, Master Hu wanted to make peace so that the Sima Family wouldn’t pursue the matter anymore?
"I will only believe so after you come with much more convincing evidence." Sima Ye said and the aura that was pressing onto Lee was gone.
He withdrew his finger that was pointed at Lee and held his hands at his back again.
Lee lowered his head and narrowed his eyes.
It was much more tricky than he thought it would be.
However, he couldn’t do much now.
Unless he could convince Sima Ye on the spot, if not, whatever Sima Ye had said was a reasonable speculation considering the history between the Sima Family and the Hu Clan.
He couldn’t do much with words for now and he could only get back to Hu Fei and ask for the next step of action.
Lee cupped his hands at Sima Ye and said, "Master Sima Ye, I shall get back to you again soon to clear the misunderstanding."
He stood up from his seat and staggered slowly towards the entrance of the guest room.
"Bring back the gifts with you."
Sima Ye’s voice sounded from behind and Lee glanced at his men.
His men quickly picked up the chests of gifts that Lee had brought with him to the Sima Family Mansion.
They went back to the Hu Clan straight away.
...
"He did what?!" Hu Fei fumed and shouted when he heard the news from Lee.
He cursed Sima Ye and grumbled silently.
Sima Ye was playing into the script of whoever was trying to frame him willingly.
And he had to either find those men who had attacked the retail shop or figure out what the things were that Sima Ye wanted from him as compensation.
He felt frustrated at being wronged all of a sudden and his anger had nowhere to be placed.
If he went up against the Sima Family, he would have to pay the price for it and walk into the trap laid by whoever it was that had framed him.
That gave him a hunch on who was behind all of this.
It couldn’t be anyone else but Ruo Zhi.
He had rejected her offer for alliance previously and he didn’t expect her to do something so cunning and devious like this.
"Argh." Hu Fei felt pain in his chest and gritted his teeth.
His Spirit Qi was going awry when he thought about the situation he was in.
And it was especially so when he thought about Ruo Zhi and what she had done to him.
"Master Hu, are you alright?" Lee bowed and asked when he saw beads of sweat appearing on the forehead of Hu Fei.
Hu Fei took a deep breath and stabilized his Spirit Qi.
Fortunately, his Spirit Qi got better after a few moments.
He glanced over at Lee and said, "Go and find out the business deals we are in competition with the Sima Family.
"Withdraw from all of it and give them anything they want."
Hu Fei had decided to lie low for now and he would rather let the Sima Family gain some advantage than give in to Ruo Zhi.
Dealing with the Sima Family which was out to compete with him openly was a much preferred option to dealing with Ruo Zhi who would stab you in the back out of nowhere suddenly.
"Yes, Master Hu. I will get it done." Lee bowed at Hu Fei and he quickly got to work.
He went through all the documents and contracts that he was dealing with and he directed his men to withdraw from the competition with the Sima Family.
One of Lee’s men who was in charge of the properties had something in the back of his mind but he couldn’t recall what it was.
So he kept quiet and went through the documents with Lee.
...
Lin Mansion.
After he had dinner, Lin Xuan Qi went to the lab and he tried to figure out how to set up a Formation Array.
It was much more urgent for him now to figure it out after the warning from Sima Ye.
He wanted the mansion to be protected if he was away when Ruo Zhi and Lee Qing came to the mansion to seek trouble with him.
He had the containers he had bought from Wan Shou Fang laid out in front of him while he flipped through the Daoist Five-Element Cultivation Techniques manuscript.
The pages that he was reading were about the Five-Element Formation Array.
In it, he read about how the Five-Element Formation Array was different from the others.
It would be powered by the Five-Element Stones and the Five-Element Qi from within the Five-Element Stones would be adjusted to form different types of defense according to the layout of the containers and scriptures of the Formation Array.
Lin Xuan Qi tried to place the containers according to what was depicted in the manuscript and drew the scriptures on the ground of the lab.
It was an Ice Formation Array with one of the containers for the Five-Element Qi pointed at the front and the other four containers placed like a square behind it.
He placed one Five-Element Stone into each of the containers and took a step back from the Formation Array.
Putting more than one Five-Element Stone might be too powerful for the Formation Array as an experiment, so he decided to put only one into each of the containers.
Lin Xuan Qi raised his hands at the Formation Array and he chanted the words on the manuscript.
He directed his Five-Element Qi from his dantian to his hands and his palms gave out a glow.
The glow extended out from his palms to the Formation Array and the scriptures of the Formation Array gave out a blue glow.
All the containers also emitted a blue glow afterwards, extending out to the area covered by the containers.
The area covered by the containers was engulfed in a blue glow before it dissipated after a few moments.
