The quiet death of Jack was followed shortly afterwards by the seizing and prompt distribution of Hyperion assets among the companies sieging it. Nobody mentioned anything when I had Pandora officially claimed under my company to "replace" the planet that I lost. Thankfully said lost planet wasn't Promethea but losing a whole planet still stung something fierce. I'd sank a not insignificant amount of money and resources into each of my planets by this time so losing one hurt a lot. I made a point of creating a monument for that planet in each of my cities to memorialize those killed.-
Drake corp got a few other assets such as a few of the research datacenters and manufacturing centers of the now gone Hyperion. Yes gone. The company folded inwards under all the external pressure until it died entirely. There was celebrations on Pandora about it as everyone was glad to be rid of the boot pressing against their throats. I myself wasted no time at all passing the [Agelessness] traits I stocked up to my friends who were willing to take them but Lil and Roland both made it long since clear they didn't want it right now.-
For Roland immortality in any form just didn't appeal to him and Lil decided she'd follow his lead on this. That was their decision and I respected it so only passed the traits to Mordy, Brick, Bloodwing and Ladon. I offered the same to the Jakobs and along with Hammerlock and Clay but they all rejected it without hesitation. For the Jakobs they just didn't care for unnatural longevity as a concept and for Hammerlock and Clay it was "cheapening the experience of life". Bunch of nonsense in my not so humble opinion but whatever.-
The real prize however was when I finally took a copy of Angels siren trait that was EXPENSIVE as all fucking get out. 5,000,000 units of lifeforce expensive. The trait fused into my incomplete [Phase god] trait and I had to admit it was a trip. That wasn't the only trait that caught me off guard though as Angels [Energy projection] and [Energy reservoir] traits had hit mythical rank due to her massive consumption of Eridium. Those were even pricier than the siren trait at 25,000,000 units of lifeforce each.-
I had chosen to devour a moon to buy these traits but nobody knew that since it was an uninhabited solar system far at the edge of the galaxy where few travel. The same solar system that I had devoured a planet from in fact. Let me tell you THAT had thrown the place into chaos since the gravity fields there were out of whack from a whole ass planet being missing. Using my new technology powers I started creating various pieces of tech that boggled the minds of my R&D division. Stuff that was so alien in design that only Tannis could BARELY comprehend it, a fact she was less than pleased about.-
Atlas got a nice upgrade too so he was now almost indistinguishable from a normal person if you ignored his metallic "skin". I also used my new powers along with my knowledge of Eridian programming to finish up the reset of the vault bot I had still that I chose to be cheeky and name Hyperion. An interesting fact about my newest bot was that it had an inbuilt authority over the normal Seraphs so could command them freely. Thanks to this after some education about it's purpose for existing I gave it the duty to command the robot legion, a new division created just for it in Drake. -
I'd like to say that I went on many great adventures over the next few years but that would be a lie. I charged the Pandora key and used it to summon the "warrior" that looked suspiciously like a giant Kraggon with wings that was also made of volcanic stone and lava. The fact the things traits were almost identical to a Kraggons minus the splitting reproduction of the things and the specific lava variant elemental body I'd swear it was the same species. -
Still it gave me the opportunity to dump those nearly useless traits I'd been holding onto from the things which I had to admit actually made it a genuine threat to anyone not me. [Elemental lifeform-Epic grade], [Elemental embodiment(Fire)-Legendary grade] and [Elemental embodiment(Cryo)-Legendary grade] all fused into it to create a monster that was basically a massive volcanic stone dragon that could alternate between blizzard temperature cold and straight up volcanic heat. Thanks to being the one to awaken it I also got control of it and handed it over to Roland since he was basically running the show in the "civilized" parts of Pandora.-
Other than that I legitimately had nothing to do for the next few years and focused on making my company the biggest name across all six galaxies. Not exactly an easy thing to do let me tell you. Intergalactic shipping and resource production was a logistical nightmare. Shipping could take months without delays from pirates or other companies playing the role of pirates. Messaging was a pain in the ass as no signal made it across the void easily and most that did got scrambled to hell and back needing deciphering to be read.-
This delay meant any sudden emergencies that showed up wouldn't hit my desk until weeks after the fact. To put it bluntly I had to set up the subsidiaries to be able to handle anything that came their way without main branch help. It was like stripping away the flesh from the company to do so as I needed to send the very competent employees as well as the good seeds working their way up the company to a whole different galaxy. This for obvious reasons was a damaging thing for the company in the short term.
