"You made me immortal!?" she exclaimed in shock.
"Not exactly. You can still be killed, you just don't age anymore. It was necessary i'm afraid. Your powers would have caused you to effectively age to death even with all the lifeforce I was going to give you otherwise. You see aging is caused by your cells replicating in a flawed manner due to your lifeforce slowly being consumed. When it's almost gone your body weakens and eventually just shuts down since the energy to maintain it is gone." I said seriously.
"Okay but why not just give me any other vitality trait instead?" she asked confused.
"The way your powers would have consumed your lifeforce would leave your cells in a constant state of degradation even as I constantly refilled your lifeforce. The [Agelessness] works as a buffer to this as your cells don't age anymore so the lifeforce tug of war wouldn't cause them permanent harm. If you had a normal case of Eridium dependence I wouldn't need the trait but your father being either intentionally cruel or fucking retarded funneled massive amounts of the stuff into you. The drain from your powers was the most extreme it could be and needed just as an extreme measure to fix." I said honestly.
"What about my wings?" she asked eyeing the white things that remained firmly manifested behind her.
"Those are permanent I'm afraid. As I said before once you got over your Eridium dependence the boundaries your powers were pushed to under all of that Eridium would remain. At the moment you are at least close to where I am conceptually with your powers, not quite godhood but very close to it. I wasn't joking when I said you could proclaim yourself a goddess if you wanted and no-one would be able to contradict you." I said with a shrug.
"But you didn't become an incomplete god until you fused four siren traits." she said confused.
I nodded "That's true but you are missing a key detail. None of the traits I fused were at their absolute pinnacle, yours is. Conceptually speaking each and every siren has the raw potential for godhood. What I did was stack all that potential together until it forced the trait I held to realize, at least partially, that potential. In simple terms my method was brute force whereas yours was fully expressing the potential of your powers. " I explained with a shrug.
"What about my father? You know he won't stop at anything to get me back right?" she asked worriedly.
"That's not a problem at all. Without you all he has is what Hyperion has, nothing that's actually a threat to me or you for that matter. Besides he has no clue where you are and if you use your powers right he never will. A subtle manipulation of recordings here and there and you could walk around right in any major city and he'd never know. Though your wings would definitely start rumors." I said with a grin.
"So i'm free? Really?" she said almost like she couldn't believe it.
"Really really. Now then I believe we should get you settled in somewhere more comfortable to recover in the meanwhile." I said casually.
It took me only a few hours to get the materials my fabricator spat out set up in a small but homely enough house for her. It had a water collection system with mesh and carbon filters for running water and wood burning stove for her to cook her meals if she wanted. -
I even stocked the whole place up with easy freeze dried meals that she just needed to add water and heat to turn into delicious meals. The furnishing was a bit spartan with a bed and dresser only but she couldn't be around any tech for awhile to fully recover. I left her several things to entertain her though and plenty of clothes for several weeks even if she wore something different each day. Finally I left the area and returned to my corporation. To say my return was not met with a whole fuckton of chaos would be a lie.-
Jack was PISSED.
He'd apparently found out Angel was missing four days ago and went straight for me. The fact I was also not answering his threats at all seemed to solidify my guilt in his mind. There was no declaration of war it was just an immediate attack on my planets. The entirety of Hyperion mobilized to do as much damage as possible without any warning. Not that that actually worked since I'd already fully completed my military improvements and had them on standby at all times just for situations like this.-
This was also a MASSIVE fucking violation of galactic law on his part. Due to the scale battles at the corporate level could get it was legally required that an official declaration of war be made before any military activity could be done. By him violating this galactic law it wasn't just me who went weapons free on his ass but Tediore, Maliwan, Jakobs, Vladof, Dahl and even Anshin. The war was on the verge of ending the same day it started as Hyperion was hit HARD. Then Jack broke another galactic law, one far more important. -
The madman actually busted out a celestial busting weapon, AKA a planet killer. This made it painfully obvious that whatever sanity he had left was gone with his daughter taken from him. This was madness and power meeting in a hideous union that cost me an entire planet. I was going to end him the moment I learned of it. The other corporations were the same as they were ripping into Hyperion owned planets and facilities to tear it apart piece by piece if he didn't show his face. I knew he was on Pandora though and made my way there to end this once and for all.
