Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes

Chapter 630: Change Or Not?

It was a beautiful video filled with laughter, warmth, and memories of a time when their entire future had still been ahead of them. The more the head maid watched, the softer the smile on her face became.

She eventually walked over to Rick and gently shook his shoulder. "Sir, wake up. It is morning."

However, she suddenly froze. Rick’s entire body was cold.

Her trembling hand slowly moved toward his nose. The moment she realized that he was no longer breathing, her face drained of color, and she stumbled backward before collapsing onto the floor.

A blood-curdling scream tore through the mansion.

Meanwhile, Lana stood far away from the mansion, silently watching from a distance.

For a long time, she did not move.

Her thoughts were consumed by the same question that had been haunting her ever since she had taken this case.

’Did I really do the right thing?’

She had taken this case because she wanted to protect the people involved.

Yet, in the end, she had somehow become the person who helped bring an end to every member of that family.

First, there was the little girl. Then came the young madam, and finally, there was Rick.

Thinking back, Lana wondered if she should have saved Rick at all. If she had simply allowed fate to take its course, perhaps their lives would not have become so much harder.

Yet, she could not bring herself to regret everything completely.

She remembered what she had seen just before the young madam entered the cycle of reincarnation.

She had seen Rick and the young madam falling in love all over again, this time in completely different eras and under entirely different circumstances.

’Maybe by the time I turn four hundred or something, they will have already been reincarnated, found each other again, and even have their little daughter as their daughter once more.’

Perhaps this was destiny’s way of compensating them for the unnatural deaths they had suffered in their previous lives.

Not only would they be reunited, but in that life, they would be happy and wealthy. They would possess everything they had ever wished for, including the time they had been denied in this lifetime.

All the moments they had lost would be returned to them in their next life.

Thinking about it, Lana paused before murmuring, "Rick, I hope you are going to be happy with the decision you made."

With that, she got inside the car.

Mr. Crow sighed as he looked at her and said, "Sometimes, I truly wonder what the use of destiny is. You changed Rick’s destiny, yet in the end, he is still..."

Lana paused and frowned slightly. "First of all, it has changed. It just did not change in the way we expected it to."

The moment she said those words, Mr. Crow looked at her thoughtfully.

"Do you suspect that all the other predictions and destinies you have changed will eventually reach the same conclusion?"

Lana fell silent for a moment before shaking her head.

"I do not believe so. All of those destinies were shown to me for a reason. If the heavens never wanted me to change their destinies, they would never have allowed me to see what was truly in store for those people."

Hearing that, Mr. Crow sighed. "Perhaps the heavens themselves never wanted to grant you this power."

Lana chuckled and leaned back against the seat.

"Then it is the heavens’ fault. They should have granted it to someone more cowardly, someone who would give up after facing just one unsuccessful outcome."

Hearing those words, Mr. Crow could not help but laugh.

Once Lana had finished dealing with everything, she began packing for the International Mystic Competition that was going to take place soon.

Meanwhile, another major event had occurred. The latest ranking of the wealthiest people at the national level had been released, and Lucian had directly taken first place.

He had even entered the top one hundred richest people on Earth.

It was undoubtedly a tremendous achievement, but Lucian knew that this was only the beginning.

However, Lana had decided that they should celebrate a day before they left for the international competition.

The night before their departure, Lana looked at Lucian with bright eyes.

"Lucian, from the inside of my heart, I absolutely refuse to believe that you are going to stop me from drinking today."

Lucian immediately shook his head.

"Not today. You have several important things to do tomorrow."

Hearing that, Lana pouted and said,

"But you are sounding so much like an old man right now. Did you forget that I have healing light and healing treatments? I also have recovery talismans. Besides, I have a boyfriend who can provide me with recovery potions and even hangover potions whenever I need them. Even if I do not sleep for a long time, I can recover quickly."

Lucian sighed when he saw her expression.

"All right, all right. You can drink, but not more than three cups, and you still need to go to sleep early."

Hearing that, Lana immediately smiled. "You are the best!"

Lucian chuckled. "I am only the best only when I listen to you."

Lana pouted playfully before quickly pouring herself a drink.

After drinking two cups, she began to feel slightly tipsy. Her cheeks warmed, and her eyes became somewhat hazy as the alcohol slowly took effect.

She leaned closer to Lucian and murmured, "Lucian, why do I keep getting drunk? Especially when I used to handle alcohol so well in our past life."

Lucian paused before gently wrapping his arms around her.

"That is because you have not trained your body to handle alcohol anymore, and honestly, it is better that way."

Thinking about the past, Lucian’s heart ached.

There had once been a time when Lana would deliberately force herself to drink without allowing herself to become tipsy.

She had trained her tolerance until she could remain perfectly composed even after consuming large amounts of alcohol.
