She pointed toward the little girl’s body.
"Your daughter’s soul has already been eaten away by that devil. What remains of her soul may not even be enough for her to reincarnate properly."
Lana’s gaze turned cold.
"If I were in your place, I would try to end this cycle by killing the devil. After all, that devil is not satisfied with your daughter’s soul. It is already eyeing yours as well."
The young madam’s eyes widened in horror. "Impossible."
She instinctively turned around.
The little devil that had once appeared small, harmless, and almost cute was no longer the same creature.
Its form was rapidly changing.
The tiny body grew larger, and the innocent appearance disappeared.
Before her eyes, the little devil transformed into the form of an adult soul, its presence becoming far more terrifying than anything she had imagined.
The young madam slowly backed away, her face drained of color.
"This is impossible. This cannot be happening."
Lana looked at her coldly.
"You made a clear deal with the devil. The agreement was that it would protect your daughter and extend her life. However, you never considered what would happen if the devil itself changed."
The young madam stared at the transformed creature, unable to accept what she was seeing.
Lana continued, "It is all right. It is not too late yet. I can still help your daughter reincarnate, and I can help you as well. However, you need to let go of your obsession with keeping your daughter alive at any cost."
The young madam lowered her head. Her hands trembled as she stared at the floor.
Lana gritted her teeth.
She had always hated mothers who became so consumed by their own inability to let go that they ended up causing even greater suffering to their children.
’How long are you going to keep clinging to something that is already gone?’
Lana’s voice became sharper.
"The more time you waste, the smaller the chance becomes that your daughter’s remaining soul will be able to reincarnate."
The young madam clenched her teeth. After a long moment, she finally raised her head.
"All right. I agree."
A faint grin appeared on Lana’s face. "Then the show begins."
With that, Lana raised her hand and began casting the exorcism talismans.
Instead of aiming the attack toward the little devil, Lana directly directed it toward the vase.
The moment the little ghost realized what she was targeting, its expression changed, and it immediately rushed toward Lana in an attempt to stop her.
However, it was already too late.
Mayra, who was acting as Lana’s protector, noticed the opportunity and immediately engaged the little devil in battle.
The previous exchange had been relatively simple. Mayra had only a limited number of attacks, one of which was the Purification Wave technique.
Normally, it worked wonders against ghosts and evil spirits, easily suppressing their corrupted energy.
However, against the little devil that had previously been residing inside the little girl’s body, the purification technique was not nearly as effective.
The little devil’s evil energy collided violently with Mayra’s attack, and the impact sent Mayra stumbling backward. A sharp attack struck her body, leaving her injured.
Lana’s expression changed when she saw it. "Mayra, use your second attack."
Mayra immediately understood.
She took the lead once again and closed her eyes. The next moment, a powerful green energy began spreading from her body, wrapping itself around the little devil like countless vines.
The little devil immediately began screaming.
The green energy was not merely attacking its physical form. It was directly interfering with the mystical energy Mayra was channeling from Lana’s body and using as her own power.
Under normal circumstances, repeatedly channeling such a powerful technique should have drained Lana’s mystical energy rapidly. However, the situation was different this time.
The technique Mayra was using allowed her to copy Lana’s mystical energy without actually depleting the energy within Lana’s body.
In other words, Mayra was temporarily able to use Lana’s mystical energy as though it belonged to her. The little devil became increasingly anxious.
It could constantly hear its master’s commands echoing inside its mind.
’Get Lana away from the vase. Do not let her touch it.’
The little devil could not understand how Lana had discovered that the vase itself was the source of everything.
Its gaze suddenly shifted toward the young madam.
It glared at her and shouted in its strange, distorted language, "Why are you just standing there? Go and snatch the vase away from her!"
The young madam flinched.
She had been under the little devil’s influence for so long that she had become accustomed to its tantrums. Even after all these years, however, its angry voice still caused a deep fear to rise within her chest.
Lana immediately noticed her hesitation. "Do not be afraid of it. It is nothing more than a puppet."
The moment she heard those words, the young madam closed her eyes tightly and refused to look toward the little devil.
The little devil gritted its teeth, despite not even having physical teeth, and screamed furiously.
"Are you going to back out now? Think carefully. Once my master realizes that you have betrayed him, he will definitely take your life!"
Lana chuckled softly. "Little devil, you can try."
She continued channelling her mystical energy into the vase before turning toward the young madam.
"However, young madam, do you not find something strange? Even after everything that has happened, even after this devil has supposedly been tormented by me, you are completely unharmed."
The young madam’s eyes widened.
She slowly looked down at her own hands as if seeing them for the first time.
"Indeed..."
Lana continued pouring mystical energy into the vase.
"The truth is that you were never connected to the devil in the way you believed. The contract it presented to you was completely different from what you thought it was."
The young madam stared at her.
Lana continued, "The contract did state that the devil would extend your daughter’s life. However, that was only the surface of the agreement. The main condition was that it would allow its little devil to occupy your daughter’s body, grow inside it, and eventually take complete control of your daughter’s body."
