"Thank you so much, Harumiko. I really appreciate you buying such an expensive gift for me. I promise I will treasure it forever, and I absolutely love this necklace. To be honest, this is actually the first time a girl has ever given me anything. Before this, the only presents I ever received were from my uncle and aunt!" Hiroshi said to her, his face beaming with happiness.
Harumiko nodded happily in response. Hearing his words, she finally felt a huge weight lift off her chest. She could relax completely now.
When she had bought the necklace earlier, she had been worrying non-stop that he might not like it.
But now, there was absolutely no need to worry anymore!
"Alright then, I’m so glad you like it. You stay here and look at it for a while. I’m going to go take a bath now. I feel all sticky and sweaty from being outside all day," Harumiko said softly as she stood up and smiled at him.
Hiroshi nodded with a smile, and watched as she walked slowly into the bathroom and locked the door behind her.
Once inside, Harumiko prepared everything she needed, took off her clothes, and stepped into the shower. It felt absolutely wonderful to take a nice, refreshing bath in the middle of summer. It washed away all her tiredness and got rid of the smell of sweat, leaving her feeling clean and fresh.
"I can’t believe Harumiko gave me a necklace... it really does look so cool and handsome! And this is the very first gift I’ve ever received from a girl!" Hiroshi said quietly to himself, looking at the item in his hands with a wide smile.
He carefully picked it up and slowly put it around his neck. At first, it felt a little strange and uncomfortable, since he had never worn anything like this before. He knew he would get used to it eventually, though, and after wearing it for a while, he probably wouldn’t even notice it was there anymore.
"I have to admit, it does feel a bit weird right now... but I’ll definitely get used to it in a few days! You know what? It actually looks a little bit similar to the necklace that Naruto Uzumaki used to wear. But honestly, I think this one is even better!" Hiroshi said with a laugh, turning his head from side to side to get used to the feeling.
After that, he stood up and walked over to the window, looking out at the view. He was surprised to see that there were still so many people outside, and all the streetlights were shining brightly, illuminating the whole area.
"I never imagined there would still be this many people out and about at this hour. It really is amazing! The people in this village sure do love being active at night!"
"I’ll plan for tomorrow then. Tomorrow I’ll take Harumiko to see the Lake of Mirrors. I have a feeling we might find something interesting or unexpected there. I’m really curious to see what the lake actually looks like and why it attracts so many people from all over," Hiroshi thought to himself as he gazed out into the night.
Then, he turned his gaze slightly towards the bathroom. Looking at the frosted glass, his mind couldn’t help but wander back to everything that had happened last night and this morning.
"I am just so happy... being loved by a girl like her feels like the greatest blessing in the world. But I really need to remember to be more proactive myself from now on. I can’t just let her do all the work and make all the moves, otherwise she might think I’m not interested or that I don’t want to be with her!" Hiroshi thought, his eyes glancing towards the bathroom where Harumiko was taking her shower.
Shaking his head slightly to clear his thoughts, he walked back to the bed and sat down, picking up the instruction manuals for the board games once again.
"It’s still pretty early. I should try to figure out the rules properly right now. That way, as soon as Harumiko finishes her bath, we can start playing right away!" Hiroshi thought to himself as he focused his attention on reading the pages.
