With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods

Chapter 1582: Perhaps this was luck (4)

With the token, Lin Fan found that it didn’t just give him control over this pavilion.

It also gave him control over the facilities that were used to breed these creatures that produced the silk.

At the same time, he had a good idea of how they had broken out of those facilities.

"It really wasn’t made to hold more than a certain amount of creatures..."

With how the facilities were designed, it really was surprising that they didn’t break out sooner. It must have been quite cramped inside for the creatures that were being bred, they must have suffered quite a bit while they were trapped inside of the cage.

But other than seeing the cage, Lin Fan was also able to use this token to find where all of the animals in this pavilion were.

That meant that he was also able to find the ones that he missed.

Since he was about to leave, it just didn’t feel right to leave behind all of these creatures.

"No one will be here to take care of them, so I should step up." Which was the excuse that he gave himself.

Though there was also another thing that he was able to obtain from this pavilion.

Since this was a place that was used to breed these creatures, it meant that there had to be a food source for them as well. There was this entire room that had been set up to breed smaller insects to feed the larger ones and that was what had sustained this environment all along.

It was also the one room that wasn’t filled with anything since it was the room that none of the other creatures that lived in this pavilion expanded to.

It seemed like the other creatures that lived in this place all understood that this was where their food came from.

So it became the place that they avoided since it was the place that guaranteed their survival.

"No matter what, it seems like their survival instincts are still strong if they recognize this place."

After thinking about it, Lin Fan also decided to take the insects that lived in this feeding room as well. After all, these were special insects that had been used to feed the insects that they had been breeding in this place.

There was no doubt that there would be something special about them if they were being used to feed the insects being bred. It might even be the reason that they were able to produce that special silk in the first place.

After cleaning everything out, Lin Fan turned to leave.

The only thing that he felt regretful about was...

"As expected, there’s nothing that can actually be used in this place."

Every finished product had been taken away, most likely used during the disaster of the Dao Sect. This was the story with every pavilion, so it wasn’t as if this place would be any different.

But what he did obtain from this place was already far more than enough.

...

"More ghosts..." Lin Fan couldn’t help shaking his head with a bitter smile when he felt all of the yin energy coming from this pavilion.

It wasn’t even the second one that he was encountering, this was the third one that he faced.

It seemed like they had really been lucky when it came to the pavilions that they encountered since they didn’t have to deal with all of these ghosts all the time.

But now that he needed the final authority from these places, he really didn’t have a choice but to face these ghosts.

However, it didn’t seem like they paid any attention to him at all.

That was the strange thing that happened every time that he faced these ghosts, it was as if they didn’t care that Lin Fan had entered the place that they lived. It was as if the only thing that they cared about was whatever they were doing.

In this place, it seemed like the ghosts that were gathered were only focused on a single thing in the center of the room.

"A stove? Does this mean that this place was where the food for the Dao Sect was cooked?"

Since this was the outer part of the Dao Sect, it only made sense that there would be a place to cook food for the disciples. They hadn’t reached a point in their cultivation where they would be able to ignore food completely.

But at the same time, the food that was made in the Dao Sect definitely wouldn’t be normal. There was no doubt that there would be spiritual herbs used to cook the food, which would even help with their cultivation.

Otherwise, there was no need for such a fancy set up.

Just a single glance was enough for Lin Fan to tell how special this stove was.

It was something that had been carefully crafted for this place, or else it wouldn’t have been made with such precious materials.

"The Dao Sect really takes good care of their disciples..." Lin Fan couldn’t help shaking his head with a wry smile on his face after learning this.

But the more important thing was the ghosts that were just staring at the stove.

It didn’t take long for Lin Fan to figure out just why they were staring at the stove since they were wearing chef uniforms in the first place. They were clearly the ones that had once cooked in this place and they wanted to do it again.

It was just that as ghosts, it wasn’t as if they would be able to cook at all.

So that was why they could only gather around the stove and stare.

Lin Fan didn’t know how to deal with this since it wasn’t as if his cooking abilities were that good in the first place. But seeing the way that the ghosts just stared at the stove, it really didn’t seem like he had a choice on the matter.

However, it turned out to be much worse than he thought.

"Just give them a chance to cook."

When the voice of the elder said this, Lin Fan was confused at first.

But then he figured out what it was that the elder wanted with how the ghosts were gathered around him.

He had no choice but to lend them his body to let them cook with the stove.

As for the ingredients, they were things that he had previously gathered in the forest that he had no choice but to take out. After all, these ghost chefs had tastes that couldn’t be satisfied that easily.

Unless the ingredients were of a certain level, it wasn’t something that they would accept.

But once they were finished, at least they left behind the dishes for him.

"It’s no wonder they were chefs that had been brought into the Dao Sect."

That was all that Lin Fan could say when he tasted those dishes.

They were dishes that were on the same level as the ones that came from Duanmu Ming Yue. There was even a small part of Lin Fan that felt that they were better than the dishes that Duanmu Ming Yue came up with.

But it wasn’t as if that was an insult to Duanmu Ming Yue since these were once the cooks of the Dao Sect.

It meant that her cooking had been on par with the best of the best in a foregone era.

Once they had finished cooking, all of the ghosts started to disappear as if their final regret had been fulfilled.

It was also because of this that Lin Fan received the inheritance of this pavilion.

It was strange that there was no trial, but thinking about the state of this place, it only made sense that this was what was required of him.

After he received the token that represented authority over this pavilion, he found that there was also something else unexpected that came with it.

"Are these recipes?"

He wasn’t a cook, so it wasn’t as if he was certain if these recipes were any good. But since they were recipes that had been handed down from the Dao Sect, then they shouldn’t be that bad.

Regardless of whether they were good or bad, it didn’t matter since it wasn’t as if he was the one that was going to learn them. This was something that would go to Duanmu Ming Yue.

With it, there was no doubt that their inn would become one of the best inns on the entire continent if not the world.

That was just how much confidence Lin Fan had in Duanmu Ming Yue’s abilities.

After receiving this token, Lin Fan didn’t waste any more time in this place.

Or it was better to say that once he received this token, he no longer had to spend any more time in the outer part of the Dao Sect. After all, this was the last pavilion that he had to clear.

With this, he had claimed all of the authority that he needed to claim and it was time to challenge the inner part of the Dao Sect.

It was finally time to claim the right to take over these ruins.

Though it certainly wouldn’t be something that was easy to do.

Regardless, it was what they had to do.

But as he was about to leave the outer part of the Dao Sect, Lin Fan noticed a commotion.

"You think that we’ll go down that easily? You better keep dreaming!"
