With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods

Chapter 1581: Perhaps this was luck (3)

After sending away the spiders, Lin Fan was able to see the state of the main hall of this pavilion.

"It’s completely filled with webs."

It didn’t seem like there was a single spot that wasn’t covered in webs with how many webs were here. It felt like this pavilion had long been turned into the territory of these spiders.

Only Lin Fan was still confused where these spiders even came from.

He couldn’t see any signs that this pavilion was a place where spiritual beasts were raised. It felt like this pavilion was some kind of production pavilion with the way that it was arranged in the first place.

In the end, the only thing that he could do was cut down the webs in front of him to keep pushing forward.

When he did, Lin Fan was surprised to find that there were even more spiders that were here. He had thought that he took care of all that spiders that were in this place earlier, but that clearly wasn’t the case.

But then again, he couldn’t help feeling that he might have made a mistake when estimating just how many spiders were here.

Just the amount of webbing that was in this place showed that there were far more than just the few spiders that he had captured earlier.

However, it wasn’t as if this was a problem for Lin Fan.

Even if he had made a mistake in estimating the number of spiders that might be here, it wasn’t as if they became any stronger.

Since they were still at the same level as the other spiders, it was easy for Lin Fan to capture all of the spiders that came forward. Once they were captured, they were all sent to the Minor World to be ’educated’ like the other spiders.

While he was walking past the webs, he couldn’t help taking a closer look at them.

It didn’t seem like they were anything special at first, but then he noticed something with his Appraisal Eyes.

"High quality silk."

Once he saw this, Lin Fan couldn’t help looking closely at the web once again.

The more that he looked at it, the more certain he was that this was spider silk that could only come from spiders that were specially raised.

Which meant that there had been a reason that the spiders were in this pavilion to begin with. It seemed like they had used the silk from the spiders for something special.

Only he figured out what that was once he reached the next room.

After entering the next room, Lin Fan found that it was in a similar condition to the previous room. It was just that there was something different about the webbing that filled this place.

When he looked at it carefully with his Appraisal Eyes, he found that it wasn’t spider silk this time.

It was silkworm silk.

Just based on the spider silk alone, it was hard for him to figure out what they had been raising these spiders for. But once he saw the silkworm silk, it was actually quite easy.

This was a pavilion that was dedicated to weaving.

It was most likely the place that had been used to create all the special uniforms and armours that the Dao Sect once used. At the same time, it was most likely the place where any kind of special cloth was made.

A smile slowly appeared on Lin Fan’s face as he figured this out and there was a part of him that was glad that he hadn’t done anything to the spiders.

"If I can bring these back, we’ll have all the high grade material that we need."

With that same smile on his face, Lin Fan looked around the room.

He was trying to find the silkworms that were hiding inside of the silk that was spread all over the room. It was just that with the silk covering everything, it really was hard for him to find anything.

Even if he tried using his Appraisal Eyes, the only thing that he found was the silk itself.

So in the end, Lin Fan had no choice but to start cutting away at the silk that was in front of him.

The moment that he did, there were moths that suddenly jumped out at him.

Lin Fan was surprised to see moths appearing, but then he remembered that this was what silkworms became after they had reached maturity. It was a pretty common misconception that silkworms just remained as silkworms.

Once they matured, they would become moths that would no longer produce silk.

In fact, silk making required one to boil the cocoons of the silkworms to get rid of the larva inside and to harvest the silk itself.

So if there was no one to prevent them from breaking out of their cocoons, they would turn into moths like this.

But as he remembered this, Lin Fan couldn’t help taking one more look at all of the silk that was spread out in this room. After all, this silk could only be left behind when the moths broke through their cocoons.

With the moths only being around the size of his fist, it wasn’t hard to imagine just how many cycles it would have taken to fill this place with this much silk.

"It really has been a long time since the Dao Sect’s collapse..."

That was the one thing that was deeply imprinted on Lin Fan when he saw all of this.

Of course, Lin Fan didn’t kill the moths and stored them away in the Minor World.

As long as he collected these moths and properly cultivated them, he would be able to have a steady supply of this high grade silk in the future. Though as for who would cultivate the moths, naturally it wouldn’t be him.

Other than collecting the moths, Lin Fan also collected some of the cocoons that he found that were intact while he had been cutting up the silk.

...

"Just how many kinds of animals did they farm in this place?"

It was no wonder this place looked like it was completely dilapidated from the outside.

Lin Fan already knew that it was impossible for the spiders alone to cover the entire pavilion, but now he knew that there were countless other species that were in this place.

It seemed like the weavers of the Dao Sect really had been obsessed with creating the perfect kind of silk, which was why they had cultivated countless creatures that were able to provide silk.

However, it wasn’t as if this was a bad thing.

It had been a big harvest for Lin Fan as he collected all of the creatures that were able to create silk. He would be using them later as his own supply of high quality silk for his various ventures.

There was no doubt that Yue Lan would be interested in these creatures.

But with how big this place was, it really took a long time for him to reach the end of this place.

At the end was what seemed to be the workshop of this pavilion.

It was the place that was filled with all the looms and other machines that were needed to turn the silk into a meaningful product. Only seeing these things caused a wry smile to appear on Lin Fan’s face.

After all, he had no idea what these were and how to operate them.

Still, it wasn’t as if he was worried since if it came down to it, he would have the guidance of the system. Since this was a skill that was related to production, then he would be able to exchange for the knowledge and have the system guide him on how to use these machines.

The only thing that he was waiting for was the sign that the trial was beginning, only it didn’t seem to be coming.

No matter how long he waited, it didn’t seem like anything was going to happen.

"Do I have to just make something on my own?" Lin Fan thought to himself with another wry smile on his face.

But in the end, it didn’t seem like that was the case.

As he approached the biggest loom, there was a voice that suddenly said, "It seems like you’ve captured my babies."

Hearing this, Lin Fan was completely caught off guard.

After all, this was different from what any other elder had said to him so far.

The way that the elder said this was almost as if they were blaming him for something.

So after thinking about it, Lin Fan pulled out a few of the creatures that he captured to show the elder that they were all still alive. He didn’t know if this would work or if the elder would still blame him, but he certainly didn’t expect the reaction that the elder gave.

"So it turns out that you’re also a fan."

The elder’s voice seemed to fill with joy and kinship as they said this.

A very strange look appeared on Lin Fan’s face when he heard this, but he didn’t actually get to say anything in the end.

"In that case, I can entrust you with this place."

Before he could even react, he found that there was a token that appeared.

Only this token seemed to be in the shape of various creatures that could create silk.

It was a token that really demonstrated just how obsessed the owner of the token had been in life...
