Spy-x-War Showdown

Chapter 388 - 376 Smooth Handover

Pyschological strength is essential; this is a fundamental quality of a con artist.

Chris had a trick up his sleeve; his method was to treat everyone he intended to deceive as a fool. If you think of your target as a fool, naturally, your psychological fortitude improves.

"Hello, I am Agent Ben Harvey from the National Security Agency’s Major Crimes Investigation Division."

Dressed in a suit, Chris produced his credentials, which he flashed before a female police officer without actually handing them over for a thorough inspection. Instead, she merely glanced at Chris’s ID and met his gaze with a smile, saying, "Hello, Agent Harvey."

Taking the cue, Chris put his ID away in his pocket, then said solemnly, "I request to see your Superintendent Hart, and if Superintendent Hart isn’t available, I’d be willing to see Mr. Pence from the Serious and Organized Crime Unit."

Most positions at Scotland Yard are public. If one is determined to look, then the names and positions of these individuals are no secret and can be easily found. Chris spoke the names of the individuals he had researched with familiarity and even had a backup ready when the reception officer barely hesitated.

"Superintendent Hart is in his office. Please wait a moment; I will call him right now."

Chris nodded and then glanced at his watch.

The policewoman dialed the phone, looked at Chris, and immediately said once the call was answered, "Sir, there is Agent Ben Harvey from the National Security Agency’s Major Crimes Investigation Division who would like to meet with you right away."

"Ben Harvey? Agent Harvey, very well, ask him to come to my office."

The policewoman hung up and smiled at Chris, "Agent Harvey, Superintendent Hart is waiting for you in his office on the third floor, to the right of the elevator, in the fourth office."
