Chapter 123. A Quick Soak
Jael stopped in front of a door and Damon threw it open. Jael walked in and Damon stood by the door unsure whether to walk in or not.
"Leave the bags by the door and shut the door close," Jael said and Damon simply nodded and did as Jael requested. The sound of the door closing echoed in the room. She was still in Jael’s arms.
"You can drop me now," she blurted, glaring at him.
"Hmm," he said and carefully dropped her to her feet.
She dropped to the ground and took off the boots. Wondering what the purpose for them had been. She immediately stood to her feet, her bare feet wiggling on the carpet, she had taken off the socks, they felt a little constricting.
She took off the scarf around her neck. The room was warmer than outside and there was no need for the scarf anymore. The room was similar to the size of her own room back in the castle.
There was a candle on the bedside table and one by the entrance. That was the only source of light in the room. The bed was big enough to be comfortable for both of them.
The bed hanging were parted, and the bed laid to perfection, Mauve couldn’t spot a crease. Mauve frowned, her bed didn’t have this. She could have been spared all those embarrassing moments with Mill. She made a mental note to ask for one as soon as they go back.
She looked at Jael, he just stood staring not saying anything. She wondered if he was still angry. She frowned.
