Chapter 72: Lavish Salon
In the lavish salon, Julia sat comfortably in one of the plush chairs, flipping her perfectly styled hair back with an air of superiority.
Her friends surrounded her, all listening intently as she boasted loudly about her latest purchase.
"Ladies, you won’t believe this," Julia said with a smug smile. "This wig? One million dollars. Custom-made. Imported from the finest sources. There’s nothing like it." She twirled a strand of the expensive wig between her fingers as her friends oohed and ahhed in amazement.
"Oh, Julia! You always have the best taste," one of her friends, Lizzy, gushed. "No one does luxury like you!"
"Of course," another chimed in. "I mean, look at her! She’s always dripping in wealth."
Julia soaked up the compliments like a sponge, smiling brightly. "Well, what can I say? Some of us were just born to live this way."
While the others showered her with praises, Sarah, seated quietly in the corner, could barely contain her irritation.
She had seen Julia pull this act before, and it left a sour taste in her mouth.
Sarah’s mind wandered back to the boutique incident not too long ago.
Julia had boasted about buying an expensive dress, making sure everyone heard her, only for her credit card to be declined at the counter.
The embarrassment Sarah felt that day still lingered, and she had no doubt that Julia was simply full of empty words today as well.
