Divorced and Chased by My Alpha Billionaire Ex-Husband

Chapter 71: Good Terms

Back at the doorway of room 203, Lucas noticed Julia’s clenched fists as she stared at Aurora’s retreating figure.

His gaze shifted from Aurora to Julia. "You and Aurora don’t seem to be on good terms," he commented, breaking the silence.

Julia turned to face him, her expression darkening.

"How could we be on good terms?" she snapped. "Have you already forgotten everything she did to me— to us? Aurora is the reason I had to leave this city in the first place. The torment she put me through, the schemes... She destroyed our happy relationship, Lucas!"

She took a step closer to him, her voice turning sharp. "She’s nothing but a gold digger, a manipulative pest. Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten her devious plan to get a share of your wealth."

As Julia moved even closer, Lucas instinctively raised his hand, blocking her approach. His outstretched arm stopped her in her tracks.

The gesture shocked Julia, her eyes widening in disbelief.

"You really believe that, Julia?" Lucas’s voice was calm but firm. He looked directly at her, his gaze unwavering. "Actually, now that I think about it, I believe your so-called evidence was false."

Julia’s jaw dropped, too stunned to respond immediately. "What?" she stammered.

"You heard me," Lucas said, his tone confident.

Julia’s face paled as she tried to recover. "Why would you say that? I would never lie to you!"
