My Favorite Game Followed Me!

Chapter 767

Chapter 767

“I would prefer to be on the frontlines fighting the undead. With my history as a combatant during the coalition’s attack in Mendoza as one of the defenders there, you all knew about my abilities!” Anton told the Supreme Wizard handling the recruitment.

“I see that you’ve heard something about the different divisions that our armies had against the coalition. I understand why you want to be part of one of the offensive teams, but you should understand your situation. You’re a Supreme Wizard at such a young age, and to me, it means that you should be wiser than your peers. The gate scrolls that you have been providing us are truly invaluable, and as of right now, we can’t replicate them without consuming a vast amount of resources and the power of at least two Divine Rank wizards. As long as you’re our only source of the gate scrolls, we simply can’t put you in danger. You don’t need to worry too much; you will still be able to use your magical might against the undead. Just like in Mendoza, you will be placed in walls that we’ve erected using magic, facing the area that the coalition had already conquered. We’re ashamed that we had been extremely negligent in allowing the coalition to penetrate New Drennor. We were surprised that the Coalition managed to teleport several Divine Rank liches that caused the Western Gate to fall. But we’re prepared now, and we haven’t allowed the undead to penetrate New Drennor further.”

The supreme wizard named Renato, who was called in by the recruitment mage who saw Anton’s name being flagged by one of their crystal balls that worked as Ormunda’s network computer.

Anton was flabbergasted to learn that he would be in a team of wizards that were sons and daughters of the most influential wizard from both Ormunda and New Drennor. Renato told him that several groups of young wizards wanted to experience the battle but were not allowed by their families to be put in any real danger.

The group of wizards that Anton had started calling in his mind the “coddled mages” were the same age as him, but upon joining him, he would be the highest rank. The highest of them had only reached the High Wizard rank.

“That is truly preposterous! With my abilities and experience, I will not allow myself to be coddled like that!”

“I understand. I truly do, since just like you, I’ve clawed my way to the top and have been a combat wizard since I was young. If it were me, I would also not care for the same situation, but please comprehend the fact that we simply can’t let you out of our sight. Your scrolls can truly make or break this war,” Renato told him firmly.

Renato expounded on the fact that Anton wouldn’t be allowed to galivant all over the continent again. Basically, the supreme wizard was telling him that he was now, more or less, someone like a prisoner. They would even prefer, even strongly recommend, that he remain in Ormunda, either continuing his business of retrieving entertainment materials from other dimensions or entering one of Ormunda’s academies to continue his studies.

They even strongly advised him to enter past the 50th floor of any high-level dungeon despite having reached the 65th floor of the Corridors of Amuneta dungeon.

Anton was hugely surprised that the wizards of Ormunda and New Drennor knew that even with his unique “bloodline” magic, he was still capable of learning the standard magic of this world, so they wanted him to continue his studies.

Basically, the wizards would only allow him free rein again if either of the two conditions were met. The first one was if they cracked the town portal scrolls, which was proven to be highly difficult since they have not yet, even though Renato admitted that it was being studied by several Divine Rank wizards, or if he reached the Invincible Rank. The wizards from Ormunda and New Drennor believed that once he reached the Invincible Rank, he would be able to escape even from someone like a Divine Rank creature.

Anton now understood the effect of allowing everyone to know about his town portal scrolls. At least no one captured him to be studied.

When Anton jokingly said that same thing, Renato joked back that it was because of the situation. If it was peaceful time, there would have been several attempts already from powerful wizards to capture him. That comment from Renato made him sweat, and the wizard saw that.

“You don’t need to worry too much, young Anton. The council of both Ormunda and New Drennor had given their assurance that you’ll be protected. One of Ormunda’s powerful artifacts is already attuned to you and would emit a signal if you’re ever in danger. Again, that monitoring would be removed once one of the two conditions that I’ve said was met.”

Anton understood that even if he went to New Drennor, he would just be a butterfly there. So after a few minutes of thinking, he decided to remain in Ormunda to continue his studies and strive to reach the Invincible Rank as soon as possible.

One surprising thing that Renato had told him was that he might not be waiting for long, since Renato had received information that the Divine Wizards were close to cracking Anton’s scrolls.

“I thought you said that they were having a hard time cracking it?”

“You shouldn’t look down on Divine Wizards, young Anton. Their comprehension ability is something you will not be able to fathom unless you reach the same rank. At least that was what my Divine Wizard teacher told us,” Renato told him.

Anton was guilty of that. He kept looking down on the magic of this world, probably because he had attained his prodigious powers easily.

Since Anton had reached the decision that he would stay in Ormunda to continue his studies, he forlornly started his journey home.

When he arrived at the manor, everyone was surprised at his return. He asked Raymond to accompany him to his office so Anton could tell him about his situation and to spread it to the family.

Upon learning what happened, Anton could see that Raymond was actually relieved that Anton would not be joining in the fight.

After the butler left, Anton wrote a letter to his father and his sister telling them of his situation. He could see Anna laughing her ass off about his circumstance. Once he was done with his letter, Anton felt a little down, so he decided to return to his bedroom to level up his character.

Before leaving his office, Raymond rushed back.

“What happened?!”

“Huge news, Anton. The wizards of New Drennor established a Gate to Rendindura.”

The information was brief. The said gate was formed in New Drennor, and supposedly, offensive groups would be formed to infiltrate the continent to check the situation there. After Raymond shared the news, the butler left.

A started to form in Anton’s mind. He would sneak inside New Drennor and sneak towards the gate. He wanted to reach Rendindura so he could establish a save point there. That would allow him to travel back and forth from Rendindura to the Gale continent.

Thankfully, it would probably be easy for him to go to New Drennor since, according to Anders, some portals were established by the Ormundan Wizards that allowed even ordinary folks to travel from Ormunda to New Drennor. It costs an arm and a leg, but Anton was willing to pay to reach New Drennor and reach the gate there.
