My Favorite Game Followed Me!

Chapter 766

Chapter 766

“Are you planning to get married soon?” Anton asked Kirk, with Luna shyly looking at the ground while holding her paramour’s hand.

“No. We will follow Sir Anders’s advice and wait for a few years,” Kirk replied.

Anton nodded his approval. At least Kirk and Luna were sensible and would not dive into marriage immediately. Time would tell if they were truly serious with each other or if it was just a passing infatuation. He also understood that it would be better if the relationship went on since it would truly tie Kirk, who now looked to be a talented mage, to the family firmly. Although if everyone involved were honest, the four young wizards' talents were below average. The reason they looked to be extremely talented was because of Anton’s effort in increasing their rate at which they could increase their wizardly rank.

First, the manor was providing them with abundant resources like coins and teachers. Second, Anton provided them a tool, which was the enchanted mirror that he created, that did nothing but store mana and release it tamed into a room. Basically, once Kirk, Mesono, Omar, and Abdul memorized spell slots were full, they could expend their spells by casting them into the enchanted mirror. Then, when the mana in the mirror was full, they would release the mana into the room. The effect of a room filled with tamed mana was that it would allow wizards to memorize spells at an increased rate. Third, which was the most valuable thing that Anton had allowed them to have, was their use of the Insight Runeword Spear that Anders left them. The runeword weapon would allow them to bask under a high-level Meditation Aura. For some reason, the Meditation Aura also caused wizards to memorize spells at an exponentially faster rate.

Currently, the family has two Insight Spears that Anton transferred from the game. One was supposed to be with his father, but since Anders was going into battle, his father thought that the weapon would be safer inside the manor. The second one was with Anna, which, based on what she had shared with them, allowed her to increase her rank extremely fast, to the astonishment of her teachers in the academy. Thankfully, Anna was tight-lipped and did not share the effects of the weapon with anyone who would blabber it to the public.

Basically, Kirk, Mesono, Omar, and Abdul understood that they had been incredibly lucky in meeting Anton, comparable to winning the lottery. Not only did Anton allow them to enter the ranks of the powerful, despite their lackluster talents, but he would also allow them to earn a fortune in the future. The family did not put a limit on what they could do, so if they entered into a side business, for example, learning how to create enchanted items, the earnings from those would just be for them, minus a small cut that the family rightfully owned for giving them the resources to grow.

One good example was that according to Kirk, their families in New Drennor were thriving from the coins the four had been sending them regularly.

“Since father has given his blessing, your relationship is fine by me. Just make sure not to hurt Luna. She’s a precious family member,” Anton told Kirk.

“I understand. I will make sure that she’s protected and I will never hurt her,” Kirk replied.

Kirk then told him that during the next few years, the two of them would not have the time to focus much on their relationship. Kirk, together with Mesono, Abdul, and Omar, would be incredibly busy learning from their wizard tutors and increasing their magical rank. Luna would not foolishly wait for Kirk and would also be busy herself. Romina was grooming her to have the ability to handle the family businesses of the Cinema and Fashion Magazine.

Anton understood that the main reason why the Rose Manor was calm, even though both the Patriarch and the Heir were going into war, was that even if they fell, the family was stable enough that it would be able to continue without them.

Not that Anton planned to meet his demise anytime soon. With his prodigious magical prowess given to him by his Diablo System, his survivability was through the roof. Of course, he would also be extremely careful. He knew that the Divine Rank beings were extremely powerful and could end him in an instant. What he would need to make sure of was not to enter their sights.

After two more days, Anton had finally settled everything that he needed to do in the Rose Manor and was ready to report his presence to join the fight against the coalition. Without ceremony, he left in the morning for the army offices.

The family was used to him leaving all the time and knew that if he wanted to return, he would be able to do so immediately because of his ability to create portals.

The Ormunda Recruitment Center was now assigned to a series of buildings located to the east of the city. It actually took Anton a couple of hours by carriage to reach the recruitment center. When he identified himself to the wizard handling recruits, the low-level wizard became excited. Anton understood that his name was flagged, and he knew exactly why. The portal scrolls that the Ormundan Wizards were using came from him. He understood immediately that the wizards would not allow him to go to the frontlines like before.

“You must understand that we can’t let you be killed,” The Supreme Rank mage who was talking to him inside an office told Anton.

Anton realized that since the wizards had not been able to crack the magic behind his portal scrolls, his importance to the kingdom became extremely high. He even learned that a team of powerful wizards and warriors had already been created to retrieve him from his exploration of the northern forest.

Anton was given to understand that the current fight against the Undead Coalition was composed of different strategies. One was offensive, another was a covert investigation, which consisted basically of intelligence gathering activities like spying, another was a covert attack strategy, which consisted of remote rescue or assistance to those who needed it, and last was the defensive strategy, which was the stance that the kingdom of Mendoza had taken against the Undead Coalition.

Because Anton was now considered a very important resource of strategic magical items that could very well be the reason for the success of their war against the undead, namely the town portal scroll, he would only be allowed to remain under the defense department.

Anton had no choice but to accept it for now. He was not worried, though, because he knew that sooner or later, the wizards would be able to create their own portals, and that was the time they would release him. In actuality, wizards already could create portals; it was just that their version needed an incredible vast amount of resources and power to be established.

The wizards of both Ormunda and New Drennor knew his abilities. He had been part of the fight against the undead ever since the undead attacked Mendoza. They also knew Anton and his whole family’s history because they never kept it a secret. They knew that his magical prowess was through the roof, and his abilities would allow him to travel at an extremely fast pace. His ability to fly, teleport, and create portals, and his combat abilities were already well-known. Still, Anton understood that the wizards of both kingdoms would feel it a pity if they just lost him to a meaningless skirmish against the undead. Everyone knew that it would be better to foster such talent.
