Chapter 15: DEEP IN THOUGHT
I was back in my office when I realized that darkness had already crept in. I stood by the window staring at the night skies, admiring the Alaska night views.
"Do you regret it?" Freki’s voice rose over our minds.
"Not really, but I am concerned that what I did will come back to haunt me sooner rather than later," I responded.
"All because of that damn pact, "Freki’s annoyed voice rose.
"I might have been a little hard-headed today and revealed my power. "I huffed.
Mhh" Freki yawned and went back to sleep.
Walking back to my desk, I kept working for hours until I heard the knocking at the door and Zeeb walked in.
"I am going home," He announced, looking irritated.
"You sound annoyed at me. "I chuckled and leaned back on the chair, stretching my neck from sitting still for too long
"I have had enough of your madness today, Lucian," He muttered.
Standing up, I shut the laptop down and walked to the door. "I will drop you home, Zeeb. Taking it as a way of apology for making it hard on you today," I informed him.
