Chapter 16: SECOND STRIDE
"I was never here" Tala shook her head in denial and rushed out of the office in a panic.
"You chased your sister out of my office for the first time in years," I chuckled once the door shut.
"Why were you yelling at her? "Zeeb demanded.
"The KODA council has summoned me. Carter went crying to his father that I wanted to control him. His father called me last night to warn me. I never expected them to send Tala to summon me and I lost my cool for a moment."
"Shit," Zeeb cursed. "You were reckless yesterday. Actions have consequences, Lucian"
"I know. You don’t need to remind me. But my wolf does not agree," I laughed.
"Are you a magnet for trouble?" Zeeb chuckled.
"That is the word," I acknowledged. "Did you know Anisha was a wolf under the Freki?
"Yes," Zeeb responded.
"How the fuck I am the last one to know that Anisha is part of the Freki wolves?" I wondered out loud.
"Because you never have never had an interest in the Pack business." Zeeb retorted.
