Chapter 37: Trusting the Master's Revelation
Lorna stared at the row of right Cybernetic Hands in the cooler, feeling rather frustrated. They were all cheap knockoffs.
She had only just figured out how to properly integrate that Mutant hand, too...
"Old Cai, what if we do this—patch up what's left of this Mutant hand so I can keep using it, and we'll reattach the rest once I get it back. That Legion definitely took the missing pieces, and they're worth a decent chunk of money."
"No can do. I'm a doctor, not an alchemist. I can uninstall parts and I can install them, but I don't repair Cyberware."
Old Cai didn't stop working, swiftly setting up a blood transfusion. "I sourced all this Cyberware straight from the Tripod District."
"I know, I know," Lorna muttered in resignation. "Just a bunch of Tripod trash."
The Tripod District was a hub for underground research and taboo experiments, crawling with alchemists and doctors running all sorts of shady projects.
The New World Bank tacitly allowed the Tripod District to exist, creating a convenient place for people to handle matters too dirty for the public eye.
"Just make do with one for now," Ayane Kumiko coaxed gently.
