Chapter 36: Doctor Profession System
Lorna stared at the row of cybernetic right hands in the cooler, feeling rather frustrated. They were all cheap junk.
She had just figured out how to properly adapt to that Mutant hand...
"Old Cai, how about this? Fix up what's left of my Mutant hand so I can keep using it for now, and we'll reattach the rest when I get it back. That Legion definitely grabbed the missing piece—it's worth some good money."
"Can't do it. I'm not an alchemist, I'm a doctor. I can only take things off or put things on. I don't repair Cyberware."
Old Cai didn't stop working, swiftly setting up a blood transfusion. "I got all this Cyberware from the Tripod District."
"I know, I know..." Lorna sighed in resignation. "It's all third-rate trash."
The Tripod District was a hub for underground research and forbidden experiments, crawling with alchemists and doctors tinkering away.
The New World Bank tacitly permitted its existence, providing a place where people could carry out the sort of work that couldn't be done in the light of day.
"Just make do for now," Kumiko advised gently.
