Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.773 Myrphe’s Evolution

A few days after the last fissure, I noticed something strange going on in the Seamstress studio. I try to pay attention to most things on HomeBase, as a way of practicing my mental abilities to better train me for All-Sight. Maybe eventually I can use it without Thought Acceleration.

I saw as Myrphe began to collapse, but luckily Miris was there to catch her before she could hit her head or something. And just a quarter of a second later, I was also there, as I just teleported over.

I quickly appraised Myrphe, only to not get an available status. Instead I got a message saying she was undergoing an evolution.

Admittedly I’d been waiting for it. I knew Myrphe would evolve soon enough, when her monster core was finally fully processed. That is because she was technically still a Drider, not an Arachne.

Which honestly makes no sense since Myrphe was made using the Arachne race as the base, not a Drider monster. But the System twisted her into one when the correction happened.

But now she is evolving and she should come out of it an Arachne.

So I took her to the MedBay, placed her into an evolution tank that would fit her body without causing strain on any part of her, and made sure the tank was ready to support her for the … probably 2 days her evolution will take. It might take more since she is finalizing her return to the System.

… She might also evolve into a Tailor. I got the new race and racial skill implemented in under a day. It really wasn’t difficult, since the skill base is just a specific area of the Crafting and Advanced Crafting skills. I’m just separating them into a different skill and adding some specialities that Advanced Crafting didn’t yet support.

And even if it isn’t perfect, the System can just update the skill later as more Tailors are born and as they use the skill. That’s the great part about having a self-learning system as … well, the System.

While waiting for Myrphe to finish her evolution, I decided to unlock a few new races for myself. Mainly the Silk-Moth Insect-folk. I never saw the need for it, but I have the Tailor race and skill, so having both spider silk and moth silk might come in handy.

And it took like … 3 minutes to unlock, so. I did have to consider how an insect-folk would be when they are a drider when considering Myrphe’s backstory. And since I linked her to silk-moths, I also considered that, even if I never unlocked the race at that time.

Now Silk Thread did come with some advantages over Web Making. Mainly that it was a lot easier to use. Like a ton easier. Web Making is like manually copy pasting information, while Silk Thread is an automated macro. … stupid comparison probably, but whatever.

Web Making is technically the better skill, as it is a lot more versatile, but Silk Thread is definitely nice and does leave you more time to focus on the actual clothes making part.

So I’m lowkey hoping Myrphe can somehow get that skill as she evolves.

Request of Timeline God Ami Brian Wood accepted. Adjusting Individual Myrphe’s evolution to include Silk Thread racial skill and the necessary race.

… System? When did I become the ‘Timeline God’? Is it because I hold the Timeline Staff?

And how can I just make requests like that? And they are just accepted without a vote or anything? Why? How? … Actually, don’t answer that. It is because I’m the Timeline God, right?

Now that I think about it, that is probably why Myrphe was separated from me. I held a God level position without realizing it, and when I made Myrphe into a person with her own backstory and everything, I separated her from just being my copy that I used to play more Yugioh. So she became her own person.

At least I think so.

That does mean I need to be a lot more careful with my thoughts. Because I have no idea how the System ranks the God positions, or even what all the God positions are. Of course there are the 4 Continent Gods and I just learned about this Timeline God position, but I wonder if there are others? There might be, and that could cause problems.

But there also are only the twelve Ultimate System Supports currently in the System. So if there are other God positions, one of them would have to hold it. Unless there is a living holder with an Ultimate Support, but based on the few Ultimate level votes I’ve taken part in, there are only 12 active Ultimates.

System? What God positions are there?

No answer? Well, that is fine. Not like I need to know everything.

Ability to make combined races is thanks to One of Every Race and the discovery that races under the ‘Artificial’ modifier race can be combined into one.

… well now you are just giving me the sass. But that is nice to know.

Myrphe’s evolution took just over 3 days to complete. So longer than I expected. But she came out amazing.

Rainbow-Winged Silk-Moth Arachne Tailor. She got everything and then some. I didn’t expect her to get the Shining Wings skills that came with the Rainbow part, but the rest is what I hoped for.

But this does mean I’ll have to teach Myrphe how to use Shining Wings as well. Not that that is a problem, but it is somewhat of a complex skill.

For those who don’t remember, Shining Wings allows for the absorption and release of light from your wings. You can also turn mana into light. And once you have the light, you can turn it into healing energy, convert it back into mana, or use it for simple Light-attribute Spells.

Note that I didn’t say weak spells. You can cast some really powerful spells if your skill level is high enough, they just can’t be overly complex. It is especially good at blinding and disorienting attacks.

I don’t know how useful that will be for Myrphe, but it might come in handy.

As for Myrphe’s unique skill, Rainbow Thread. … well, I have no idea. She can make rainbow thread with it, and it will have some unique properties. But even the System doesn’t know what everything the skill can do, since Unique skills mold to their users.

So Myrphe will have to experiment with it. Maybe she can actually make perfectly unbreakable clothing with that skill, without it being uncomfortable to wear. I wouldn’t put it past the System.

Familiarizing Myrphe with her new unique skill did end up being my job. Because again, we don’t really have a dedicated tailor on staff, except now Myrphe. Wilma and I can both make clothes, but neither of us specialized in it, but I’m much better than Wilma is. And that is even outside of my ‘in the past’ experience.

And I don’t have any monsters that specialize in making clothes either. Sure plenty of them can do basic things like mending broken clothing or basic stitch decorations, but none are on that higher level of clothes making.

… Yugioh. How do you feel about an archetype of tailors? They could focus on evening wear style Equip Spells. Could be a cool idea. … actually, I could always make that for myself. But I don’t really know when I would. Maybe when I host the Link summoning tournament?

But those are just potential ideas for the future. Now let's check Myrphe’s skill. And maybe even her status if you guys are good.

As it says on the name, Myrphe can make thread with a slight rainbow hue to it. Nothing much, just a bit of color when light hits it the right way. With the skill still at level 1, it can’t do much more.

Well, there is one little thing. Any clothing stitched together using the rainbow thread, and especially those fully made of fabrics made from her rainbow thread come with a boost to both Light and Dark attribute resistance. Again, nothing crazy, just about 2% resistance if you use it to stitch the clothing together, and about 7% if they are made completely out of the thread. But that is just a natural ability given to any basic clothing with a level 1 unique skill. Once that skill levels up, we might get much higher numbers and Myrphe might learn how to alter the thread colors for even better results.

Maybe she can make a blue thread that resists water. Red for resisting fire. And so on.

But now, let’s actually see Myrphe’s status.

Now I think we already know most of her skills, but Throughout Time and Non-Target are something you don’t know.

Throughout Time is basically just Time Magic Resistance. I have no idea why it has a crazy name like that. It doesn’t let you see through time or anything. It does also give you a better memory, but that is a little thing. It comes from the Blessing of the Timeline God title, and I really need to have a conversation with the System about that. Why can I give a blessing and how did I bless Myrphe? Because I want to bless my wives if I can. Where is my tutorial on my new role?

Non-Target comes from Monster no more. It basically means that monsters don’t attack her, unless they are extremely hungry or territorial. They basically still see Myrphe as a monster, so she isn’t one of their usual targets. It does help but it isn’t some cheaty hiding skill.

Lastly, Myrphe has Trap Making, which is a skill I’ve never seen before. Well, I knew it was a skill, I just never bothered trying to get it. It isn’t all that great for anyone except Arachne and other spider-folk who can make webs. Well, it is alright for hunters who want to specialize in traps and such, but it really is a limited skill.
