Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.774 Generic Pack Opening chapter title number #29

Alright. Pack Opening time.

Well, more like set completion time. I have like 3 sets I’ve yet to complete, and while I’ve only opened 10 packs of Maximum Crisis, I’ve opened 30 of both Invasion: Vengeance and Raging Tempest, so I can complete them. I’m also missing like 15 cards from each, which isn’t all that many.

So I’m just jumping straight into Invasion: Vengeance with 200 packs, speedrun style. And as always, cards I don’t get are put into Capsules to be gotten in 1 to 2 days.

But yeah. 200 INOV packs coming up.

Alright. 16 new cards.

Now, usually I cover the monsters first, starting with the main deck, but how about we do it in reverse and start with the traps. I just feel like it.

Crystron Entry specials 2 Crystron Tuners, 1 from hand, 1 from GY. And it can banish itself to Foolish a Crystron and make the level of a Crystron be the level of the milled Crystron.

King's Synchro negates an attack on a Synchro monster, then you banish the attacked Synchro and a Tuner from the GY to Synchro summon.

Nine Pillars of Yang Zing negates a Spell/Trap/Monster effect and shuffles the card into the deck.

Qlife's End is a trap monster. It protects Qli Spells and Traps the turn it is summoned, and acts as 3 tributes for the summon of an Apoqliphort monster.

Dimensional Barrier is … well, you should know what it does. Quite a good card, but useless to me. Unless it can instantly fix fissures, but I doubt that it can.

Spoiler

[collapse]

Now the Spells. There are 2 of them.

Red-Eyes Insight searches for a "Red-Eyes" Spell or Trap.

Saber Reflection is a situational searcher, and it also ‘negates’ damage.

Spoiler

[collapse]

Extra deck. 6 monsters.

Darktellarknight Batlamyus turns all monsters you control to Dark attribute. And it can be used as a material to summon any Light attribute tellarknight Xyz.

Crystron Quandax lets you Synchro during your opponent’s turn, and if it is destroyed, you can summon a non-Synchro Crystron from the GY.

Meteor Black Comet Dragon does burn and summons a normal monster from the GY when it goes from the field to the GY. It is also a part of the Red-Eyes FTK, if you know that little combo.

Denglong, First of the Yang Zing searches on summon, can change its level by doing a Foolish, and specials a Yang Zing from the deck if it leaves the field.

Fullmetalfoes Alkahest steals opponent’s monsters and takes their attack to be its defense. You can also use the stolen monsters as Fusion materials.

Metalfoes Mithrilium shuffles Metalfoes from the GY to the deck to return a card on the field to the hand. And when it leaves the field you summon a Metalfoes Pendulum form your extra deck.

Spoiler

[collapse]

Now last, 3 main deck monsters.

True King Bahrastos, the Fathomer specials itself by destroying 2 cards in your hand or field, banishes opponent’s spells and traps if both of them were water and specials a non-water Wyrm if it is destroyed by card effect.

Subterror Nemesis Archer, if it attacks a face down monster, you can shuffle that monster into the deck. And if it is destroyed, special a Subterror from the deck.

Subterror Behemoth Ultramafus has the standard Subterror effects of special summoning itself and flipping itself face down. Its flip effect is turning all other monsters into face down defense.

Spoiler

[collapse]

Now for the missed cards.

Catalyst Field tries its best, but Gemini monsters mostly still suck.

Starving Venom Fusion Dragon on the other hand is amazing. Easy to summon, gains attack equal to the attack of an opponent’s special summoned monster, can copy the name and effect of a level 5 or higher monster, and destroys all of your opponent’s special summoned monsters if destroyed.

Spoiler

[collapse]

And since I completed the set, I got two ‘reward cards’ from the Invasion: Vengeance: Special Edition.

Relinkuriboh lets you draw a card if it is tributed. And you can banish it from the GY to keep a monster from being destroyed by battle.

Dystopia the Despondent is a God monster. Yes, it has the Divine-Beast effect. It has 5k attack and can be unaffected during the battle phase.

Spoiler

[collapse]

But yeah. That is the first of the two sets completed, time for the second one.

[collapse]

[collapse]

Alright. 14 this time. Though I was missing fewer cards from this set. And maybe we can start with the Spells this time.

Dark Contract with the Entities is an alright utility Dark Contract. You probably want to run 1 of them, especially if you are running Xyz D/D/Ds.

Foolish Burial Goods is just that. Good and useful in decks that have Spells or Traps with GY effects.

Shinobird Power Spot tries to help, but even it can’t really make Spirit/Rituals good.

Spoiler

[collapse]

To the traps.

Full Force Virus is a Crush Card Virus alternative and decent at that. Sure it is the ‘nerfed’ version, but it can actually be better against some extra deck heavy decks. Still not something I want to play with. No reason to start a pandemic.

Lost Wind negates the effects and halves the attack of a special summoned monster. It can also reset itself when your opponent special summons.

SPYRAL GEAR - Utility Wire places a card on the field to the top of your opponent’s deck.

Switcheroroo is a crazy control switch card. And there are definitely times I could have used it. So there probably will be times when I can use it.

Spoiler

[collapse]

Main deck monsters next.

Fairy Tail - Rella isn’t all that great. It focuses on Equip Spells, which just really aren’t all that good.

Windwitch - Snow Bell is a level 1 Tuner that special summons itself. Sure the conditions aren’t the greatest, but still. And a Wind Synchro summoned using it cannot be destroyed by card effects.

Subterror Behemoth Dragossuary has the usual Subterror effects, and its flip effect makes Subterror destruction proof for the turn.

Tierra, Source of Destruction is the next God monster of this opening. Outside of the Divine-Beast effect, it is nice, basically reducing the board, hand and GY to zero. But The Wicked Emptiness is just better in my use. Though Tierra is a lot easier to summon, even for me.

Spoiler

[collapse]

Last, we do have a few extra deck monsters.

Brave-Eyes Pendulum Dragon changes the attack of all opposing monsters to 0 on summon. It negates the activated effects of opposing monsters with 0 attack, and if it fails to kill something by battle, it banishes them.

Windwitch - Winter Bell does burn and lets you special summon Windwitch monsters from the hand.

And Zoodiac Tigermortar lets you detach a material to attach a Zoodiac from the GY to an Xyz monster as material. So situationally useful if you need the ‘while material’ effect of a different Zoodiac monster.

Spoiler

[collapse]

Now, if my math is right, I’m only missing 1 card from this set. So let me get it real quick, and I’ll also see if I get any Special Edition rewards.

The card I was missing was SPYGAL Misty. She is alright having a draw effect. And she can also return Super Agent and 1 card your opponent controls to hand.

Spoiler

[collapse]

The special edition rewards for this set were Baobaboon and Masked HERO Blast.

Baobaboon lets you draw 1 on summon, but then you place a card either to the top or the bottom of your deck. And when it is destroyed, you can summon any number of them from your deck.

Masked HERO Blast halves the attack of a monster on summon, and lets you pay 500LP to pop backrow.

Spoiler

[collapse]

So yeah. Two sets completed. And 2 new Divine-Beast monsters added to the collection.
