Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.769 The Sphere Field Tournament, part 9

While the tournament might not have ended as I wished, because let me be honest here, I always wanted the challenger to win, we still had to hold the reward ceremony.

Myrphe got herself a gold trophy, featuring her four Xyz Spiders, Number 28, and some smaller spiders to be her main deck monsters. And while the main body of the trophy was gold, the small spiders were color case hardened steel to give them that rainbow look. Sure they aren’t exactly the same as the cards, but the trophy came out great in my opinion.

Yes I had an additional one made had Myrphe won against me. It featured the three Galaxy-Eyes Dragons, as well as the three Galaxy-Wings, all standing on top of Light of the Galaxy. But like with the Venom trophy, I’ll be keeping it and it is going into my office.

The second place duelist got himself a silver trophy featuring Blue-Eyes. Because he ran a Blue-Eyes Xyz deck. I was honestly a little jealous of him getting it. Blue-Eyes is my baby, I don’t want to give away trophies featuring it.

And Wilma of course got herself a bronze trophy with her Rail Cannons. Gustav Max, Super Dora and Juggernaut Liebe.

By the way, I made them all with Metal Magic. It really isn’t that difficult. … okay, it is, I just have over 50 years of practice.

I naturally offered Myrphe a position on HomeBase. She could live here and learn how to be a person again. Well, I actually had a way of semi-forcing her to stay under the reason of her implementation back into the System still being underway, and that she could leave after it has fully finished. Which should only take a few more days.

But luckily Myrphe was already planning on staying, so I didn’t need to talk her into it.

Over the following days, Myrphe found her place on HomeBase. She was mostly in the Workshop, but I ended up making a separate area for her which was purely for making cloth, thread and of course clothes. It was right next to the ‘traditional’ Workshop area where we made weapons, so you could easily just go over there, or even to the Forge, if you needed something made of metal the clothes you were making.

Previously we just made all of our clothes in the Workshop, which is why there was no separate space for that. But the workshop sadly isn’t really designed for an arachne, so a new space was needed.

And Myrphe didn’t like all the noise from the Forge that is next door to the main workshop, so separating it by one more room allowed for better sound insulation.

In terms of her abilities, Myrphe was … decent. They were in the upper-tier of commoner clothing. Something you’d probably wear if you worked at a decently good establishment that wanted you to look good to customers. But it didn’t quite reach the level of clothes nobles would wear.

In terms of teaching her, I ended up being the one to do it. Mainly because I’m the only Arachne who can also make clothes. Yes Sharon is an Arachne and yes she does produce thread for our use, but she is an alchemist, not a tailor. But I can do both.

Myrphe was a bit taken away when I first turned in front of her, since she apparently didn’t know that I could do that. Well, admittedly we haven’t interacted that much outside of the tournament, where I was in my advanced human form. We just never had the need to since, you know, she was me.

But since I was now teaching her Crafting, Leatherworking and Designing, we were slowly getting a bit closer.

By the way, why is there no dedicated tailoring skill? There should be one. I need to make one and separate it from Crafting. Blacksmithing is a separate skill, as are Woodworking and Construction. … admittedly those two are class race related racial skills that fall under Crafting, but still.

There is no Tailor class race or Tailor skill. I need to make those and have them implemented.

Maybe I should look at the protection against the Drider spiders while at it. There might not be anything I can do about it, but I should be able to put in a detection system that can show when a person has one inside of them at an early enough state where it can then be removed. I just need to have the System flag them and send me the information, and then I can remove the spider before it cocoons the person and turns them into a monster.

Actually, I might be able to use the demons for that. Demons want miasma, the spiders gather miasma. The demons might be able to remove it for ‘free’, just keeping the spider as payment. So I need to discuss that possibility with Ibu.

We might even be able to ‘fully automate’ the process. Improve the System’s detection of the growing spider, have it send that info to Ibu or another Contract Keeper demon, that demons sets up a mission a demon can accept, the demon summons themselves, removes the spider and then keeps it as payment. Everything over.

The only problem is, there might not be enough miasma in the spider to pay for the cost the demon would pay when they summon themselves to this world. So we’d need a way around that issue. Demons also aren’t the greatest at summoning themselves to specific locations.

… what? What do you mean what do I mean when I say that demons can summon themselves? Of course they can. They just don’t because it is against the laws Ibu put in place when he became the Demon God.

If a demon summons themselves without permission from a Contract Keeper demon, jail time. Or even execution.

But yeah. Something to look into later.

A few days after the tournament, I found myself playing Yugioh with Hiro. He wanted to duel my Galaxy-Wing deck, and I agreed to it. Sphere Field rules and all of that.

It feels almost like a tradition now, even if this is only the second time Hiro and I’ve done it. And last time I agreed because Hiro was banned from the tournament. This time I just wanted to duel more. And I never even used some of my Galaxy-Eyes against Myrphe. Cipher X, Full Armor Photon Dragon and Dark Matter Dragon.

And I also had a custom Rank 12 Galaxy-Eyes that I could summon with a custom spell, just as long as I had “Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon”, “Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon” and “Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon” on my field or in my GY.

Hiro also never got to summon his Rainbow Dragon Xyz against Myrphe, so you never saw it. It is …

… actually, I should just show them to you. Starting with my Galaxy-Eyes Origin Dragon.

Galaxy-Eyes Origin Dragon

Rank 12

Light/Dragon/Xyz/Effect

5000/5000

3 Level 12 "Galaxy-Eyes" monsters

This card gains the following effects based on the Xyz material it has.

“Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon”: If this card attacks an Xyz monster, detach all Xyz material from that monster, then this card gains 1000 ATK for each material detached by this effect.

“Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon”: Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a card or effect is activated: You can detach 1 Xyz material from this card, negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. Then you can attach 1 “Galaxy-Eyes” monster from your GY to this card as Xyz material, with a different original name from the one you detached for this effect’s activation.

“Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon”: Detach 1 Xyz material: Special summon 1 “Neo Galaxy-Eyes” monster from your Extra Deck or GY, then attach the detached monster to the summoned monster as Xyz material. This summoning is treated as an Xyz summoning. You can only use this effect once per turn, during your main phase.

Obviously Galaxy-Eyes Origin Dragon is meant to be summoned with the custom Rank-Up I made for it, so it has very specific effects.

Next, Hiro’s monsters. Because he had 2 of them. Both the “regular” rank 10, Stained Crystal Rainbow Dragon, and the rank 11 CXyz, CXyz Ultimate Crystal Rainbow Gem God.

Once per turn, during either player’s turn, when your opponent special summons a monster, or a monster your opponent controls would activate its effect, send 1 “Crystal Beast” monster you control to the GY, negate the summon or the effect activation, and send that monster to the GY.

Once per turn, during either player’s turn, you can detach 1 material from this card, choose any number of “Crystal Beast” monsters in your GY and place then into your Spell/Trap zones as Continuous Spell Cards, then special summon an equal number of “Crystal Beast” monsters from your GY. If you cannot, take damage equal to the combined original attack of all the “Crystal Beast” monsters placed in your Spell/Trap zones.

Our match ended with Hiro winning 2-1. He tried to use that as an excuse to get a Card Summoner skill orb, but I didn’t give him one. This wasn’t the tournament finals where you can earn one.

I’ll give him one eventually, but only after I’ve dealt with the States. I don’t want Hiro getting involved in that, since he lives nowhere near the States. And if he had cards of his own, he 100% would try to get involved.

What I did promise was helping him search for any more potential survivors of the silk colony destruction. Since Myrphe had survived, Hiro believed there might be others.

Of course I agreed to that, even if I doubt there are any. Then again, I haven’t confirmed, so there could potentially be some survivors.

And searching for them will be a decent side project while I wait for the States to start their plan.
