CH.770 Generic Pack Opening chapter title number #28
Alright, the tournament is over, Myrphe has at least somewhat been trained to work on her craft, so time for some packs. A lot of packs.
Plan is 10 of Invasion: Vengeance and 20 of Raging Tempest.
So let’s just get straight into the INOV packs.
Spoiler
INOV 1
Chemicritter Oxy Ox; Cipher Bit; Igknights Unite; Predaplant Moray Nepenthes; Summon Gate; Flower Cardian Maple with Deer; Mare Mare; The Phantom Knights' Rank-Up-Magic Launch; Performapal Whim Witch
[collapse]
Performapal Whim Witch is alright. It can special summon itself from the Pendulum zone and can then be used as 2 tributes for the tribute summon of a Pendulum monster. … but, you know, tribute summoning Pendulum monsters. Who does that?
Next pack.
Spoiler
INOV 2
Double Cipher; Paleozoic Leanchoilia; Flower Cardian Clover with Boar; Performapal Flip Hippo; Crystron Smiger; Fraud Freeze; Doki Doki; SPYRAL Master Plan; Superheavy Samurai Ninja Sarutobi
[collapse]
Superheavy Samurai Ninja Sarutobi destroys Spells and Traps, and burns while it does so.
Next pack.
Spoiler
INOV 3
Flower Stacking; Cipher Bit; Flower Cardian Peony with Butterfly; Graydle Combat; Flower Cardian Clover with Boar; Crystron Rosenix; Fraud Freeze; Paleozoic Opabinia; SPYRAL MISSION - Assault
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
INOV 4
Quarantine; Cipher Mirror Knight; Dino-Sewing; Chemicritter Carbo Crab; Amazing Pendulum; Paleozoic Marrella; Aromaseraphy Angelica; SPYRAL Resort; Predaplant Flytrap
[collapse]
SPYRAL Resort is a really nice Field Spell. It is a massive consistency engine for SPYRALs.
Next pack.
Spoiler
INOV 5
Fraud Freeze; Sprite's Blessing; Paleozoic Eldonia; PSY-Frame Multi-Threader; Crystron Prasiortle; Performapal Flip Hippo; Aromaseraphy Angelica; SPYRAL MISSION - Assault; Cyber Angel Vrash
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
INOV 6
Paleozoic Eldonia; Paleozoic Dinomischus; Chemicritter Carbo Crab; Crystron Prasiortle; Flower Cardian Clover with Boar; Flower Stacking; Doki Doki; Charming Resort Staff; Pot of Acquisitiveness
[collapse]
Charming Resort Staff is cute. Sure she is just an ‘average server’, but sometimes that is enough. I need to get her a maid dress and add her to my maid force. I’m sure she can do that. As a monster she is alright at best. Sure the reducing attack to 0 effect is nice, but that’s about it. She isn’t even a SPYRAL monster so you can’t easily search for her.
Pot of Acquisitiveness shuffles 3 banished monsters into the deck and then lets you draw 1. Really should have been 2, but that might have been overpowered.
Next pack.
Spoiler
INOV 7
Fairy Tail - Sleeper; Dino-Sewing; PSY-Frame Accelerator; PSY-Frame Multi-Threader; Doki Doki; Present Card; Chemicritter Hydron Hawk; Space Dragster; Torque Tune Gear
[collapse]
Torque Tune Gear is basically a Union monster. It can equip onto anything, it makes that monster a Tuner and gives it 500/500 boost. And if that monster would be destroyed, destroy Torque Tune Gear instead. It isn’t that great honestly.
Next pack.
Spoiler
INOV 8
Crystron Impact; Graydle Slime Jr.; Flower Cardian Maple with Deer; Amazing Pendulum; Paleozoic Marrella; PSY-Frame Multi-Threader; PSY-Frame Accelerator; Poly-Chemicritter Dioxogre; SPYRAL Resort
[collapse]
Crystron Impact specials a banished Crystron. And it can banish itself to negate an effect targeting a Crystron monster.
Next pack.
Spoiler
INOV 9
Performapal Seal Eel; Crystron Thystvern; Summon Gate; Amazing Pendulum; Cipher Bit; Fairy Tail - Sleeper; Raremetalfoes Bismugear; Paleozoic Opabinia; Space Dragster
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
INOV 10
Caninetaur; Flower Cardian Maple with Deer; Doki Doki; Paleozoic Dinomischus; Double Cipher; Dino-Sewing; Aromaseraphy Angelica; Tellarknight Genesis; Constellar Tempest
[collapse]
And nothing new here.
So seven new cards from 10 packs. Not great, but I’ll take it. I mean, just Resort was worth it. And Charming Resort Staff has her uses.
… I wonder if she can make good coffee? She might have the skills. I don’t really drink coffee because I don’t need to, but good coffee is good coffee.
Anyway. Time for a set change.
Spoiler
RATE 1
Ritual Beast Return; Machine Angel Absolute Ritual; Symphonic Warrior Miccs; Zoodiac Bunnyblast; Miscellaneousaurus; Zoodiac Ramram; Super Quantal Alphan Spike; Shinobaroness Peacock; Windwitch - Glass Bell
[collapse]
Symphonic Warrior Miccs gives you an additional normal summon, can special summon itself, and even has a decent Pendulum effect. Quite nice, but not something I’ll use. I’ll need to ask Cailie if she wants some music based monsters.
Windwitch - Glass Bell searches a Windwitch on summon. And her design is nice.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 2
Mekanikal Arkfiend; Eater of Millions; Rocket Hand; Symphonic Warrior Guitaar; Shinobird Crane; Lightsworn Judgment; Zoodiac Ramram; That Grass Looks Greener; Subterror Nemesis Defender
[collapse]
Mekanikal Arkfiend is way too late to help any deck. It specials a normal monster from the hand or GY whenever it deals battle damage. … but it has 100/2100 stats. So had it come out in 2003, it would have been played. You could have just set it and special Blue-Eyes when your opponent attacks into it. But it came out in 2017, so it sucks.
That Grass Looks Greener is a stupid card. It is another card that seems like it would have come out in 2003. It just reads like an early Yugioh card. But milling over 20 cards is a little too good.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 3
Apprentice Piper; Zoodiac Bunnyblast; Cipher Etranger; Symphonic Warrior Synthess; Terminal World NEXT; Symphonic Warrior Guitaar; Rocket Hand; Ancient Gear Reborn; Crystron Sulfefnir
[collapse]
Ancient Gear Reborn specials an Ancient Gear every turn, as long as you control no monsters.
Crystron Sulfefnir has a pretty steep special summoning cost, but it does special summon a Crystron from the deck when it is destroyed.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 4
Apprentice Piper; Shiranui Style Samsara; Shinobird Salvation; Cipher Etranger; Massivemorph; Speedroid Horse Stilts; Shinobird's Calling; Zoodiac Drident; SPYRAL MISSION - Recapture
[collapse]
Massivemorph doubles the stats of an opposing monster. Which might sound useless, but combine it with Magic Cylinder for some massive burn! … that was a joke. Don’t do that. But I suppose it stops that monster from attacking directly.
Zoodiac Drident does Zoodiac Xyz things, and it can detach 1 to destroy a face-up card.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 5
Beginning of Heaven and Earth; Speedroid Gum Prize; Shinobird Salvation; Miscellaneousaurus; Performapal Handstandaccoon; Symphonic Warrior Miccs; Flower Cardian Cherry Blossom with Curtain; Shinobaroness Peacock; Zoodiac Ratpier
[collapse]
Speedroid Gum Prize specials itself if you take battle or effect damage, then let’s you Synchro during your opponent’s battle phase, and can even give the Synchro you summoned a 1k boost, if the top card of your deck is a Speedroid.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 6
Beginning of Heaven and Earth; Apprentice Piper; Super Quantal Alphan Spike; Zoodiac Bunnyblast; Cipher Etranger; Eater of Millions; Purushaddoll Aeon; Performapal Dag Daggerman; Fusion Recycling Plant
[collapse]
Performapal Dag Daggerman can either recover a Performapal from the GY, or send 1 from your hand to GY to draw a card.
Fusion Recycling Plant is alright for a Polymerization based fusion deck. But most of the time they have better Field Spells.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 7
Shinobird Crane; Void Feast; Rank-Up-Magic Cipher Ascension; Symphonic Warrior Guitaar; Beginning of Heaven and Earth; Cyber Tutubon; Super Quantal Alphan Spike; Shinobaron Peacock; Performapal Dag Daggerman
[collapse]
Shinobaron Peacock is still stupid. I don’t want to ritual summon a monster that returns to my hand during the end phase. Even if the on summon effect is great and it leaves 2 tokens behind. It isn’t worth it.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 8
Symph Amplifire; Speedroid Horse Stilts; Zoodiac Combo; Metrognome; Rank-Up-Magic Cipher Ascension; Shinobird Salvation; Rocket Hand; Envoy of Chaos; Crystron Sulfefnir
[collapse]
Symph Amplifire is cool. It is exactly the type of Field Spell I like. It just passively boosts your monsters more as the duel goes on, and then you can detach the building counters to do some alright things that might win you the duel.
Envoy of Chaos is a wannabe Honest for BLS.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 9
Zodiac Sign; Ancient Gear Hunting Hound; Speedroid Horse Stilts; Eater of Millions; Beginning of Heaven and Earth; Flower Cardian Cherry Blossom with Curtain; Terminal World NEXT; Zoodiac Barrage; Windwitch - Crystal Bell
[collapse]
Zodiac Sign is … alright, I suppose. 300 attack and defense boost is nothing, but forcing your opponent to attack your strongest monster can help sometimes. As can the ‘tribute another monster to protect a monster from being destroyed’ effect.
Zoodiac Barrage specials a Zoodiac from the deck. And when it is destroyed, you special a Zoodiac Xyz from your GY and attach this to it as Xyz material.
Windwitch - Crystal Bell is really nice. It can copy the name and effect of a monster in either player’s GY. And when destroyed, you can summon 2 monsters from your GY, Windwitch - Winter Bell and 1 Level 4 or lower Windwitch monster.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 10
Rocket Hand; Lightsworn Judgment; Apprentice Piper; Metrognome; Shinobird Crane; Shinobird Salvation; Ancient Gear Howitzer; Heavy Armored Train Ironwolf; Fusion Parasite
[collapse]
Heavy Armored Train Ironwolf is kind of bad. Sure it can allow for direct attacking, but at what cost? I did make it available for the tournament, by the way. I looked over the set lists of the two sets I’d yet to complete for any Xyz monsters that should be added, and this was one of them. Wilma did run a copy in her extra deck, but she never summoned it even once.
Fusion Parasite is just a fusion substitute monster that allows you to fusion summon when it is special summoned. But it might be able to do some useful things outside of that. Like taking over someone's mind like it did in the anime.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 11
Purushaddoll Aeon; Cipher Etranger; Void Feast; Symphonic Warrior Miccs; Flower Cardian Cherry Blossom with Curtain; Shinobird's Calling; Shinobird Pigeon; Zoodiac Broadbull; Flower Cardian Lightflare
[collapse]
Zoodiac Broadbull can search for Beast-Warriors.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 12
Symph Amplifire; Zodiac Sign; Symphonic Warrior Miccs; Flower Cardian Cherry Blossom with Curtain; Lightsworn Judgment; Shinobird Crow; Shinobird's Calling; Superheavy Samurai Stealth Ninja; Windwitch - Ice Bell
[collapse]
Superheavy Samurai Stealth Ninja can attack in defense position, like most Superheavy Samurai can, but it can attack directly if you halve its defense. And if it is destroyed by a card effect, it returns during the next standby phase.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 13
Ancient Gear Howitzer; Machine Angel Absolute Ritual; Zoodiac Bunnyblast; Speedroid Horse Stilts; Eater of Millions; Majespecter Gust; Mekanikal Arkfiend; Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon; Subterror Behemoth Voltelluric
[collapse]
Subterror Behemoth Voltelluric can take control of a set monster. It specials itself when a monster is flipped face down. And it can flip itself face down.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 14
Ritual Beast Return; Super Quantal Alphan Spike; Symphonic Warrior Synthess; Void Feast; Speedroid Horse Stilts; Beginning of Heaven and Earth; Machine Angel Absolute Ritual; Delta The Magnet Warrior; Fusion Recycling Plant
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
RATE 15
Purushaddoll Aeon; Eater of Millions; Symphonic Warrior Guitaar; Symphonic Warrior Miccs; Hebo, Lord of the River; Zoodiac Ramram; Recardination; SPYRAL MISSION - Recapture; True King Lithosagym, the Disaster
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
RATE 16
Shinobird Crow; Rocket Hand; Beginning of Heaven and Earth; Void Feast; Machine Angel Absolute Ritual; Eater of Millions; Ritual Beast Return; Zoodiac Whiptail; Shiranui Sunsaga
[collapse]
Shiranui Sunsaga on summon, returns Zombie Synchros form the GY or banished to the extra deck to destroy an equal number of cards. And if it would be destroyed, you can banish a Shiranui instead.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 17
Apprentice Piper; Ancient Gear Howitzer; Symphonic Warrior Synthess; Shinobird Crane; Symphonic Warrior Guitaar; Speedroid Gum Prize; Hebo, Lord of the River; Crystron Quariongandrax; Envoy of Chaos
[collapse]
Crystron Quariongandrax banishes 3 on summon and when destroyed, summons a banished monster.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 18
Ritual Beast Return; Cyber Tutubon; Shiranui Style Samsara; Crystron Rion; Apprentice Piper; Flower Cardian Cherry Blossom with Curtain; Ancient Gear Hunting Hound; Zoodiac Whiptail; SPYRAL Tough
[collapse]
Crystron Rion specials a banished Tuner and then immediately Synchro summons using that monster and this card as materials. And the materials are shuffled into the deck instead of being sent to the GY.
SPYRAL Tough can destroy a card on the field if you guess your opponent’s top card correctly.
Next pack.
Spoiler
RATE 19
Crystron Rion; Ancient Gear Howitzer; Eater of Millions; Ancient Gear Hunting Hound; Zoodiac Combo; Cyber Tutubon; Majespecter Gust; Delta The Magnet Warrior; SPYRAL MISSION - Recapture
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
RATE 20
Cipher Spectrum; Zoodiac Ramram; Yokotuner; Shiranui Style Samsara; Performapal Handstandaccoon; Zoodiac Bunnyblast; Terminal World NEXT; Zoodiac Whiptail; Zoodiac Boarbow
[collapse]
And nothing new in the last pack either. Still not a bad opening. 26 new cards from 20 packs isn’t terrible.
