Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.759 Myrphe Deck and Rank-Ups

Today I was pondering what deck Myrphe really should use. Because while the basic Yuma deck is fun, a spider and butterfly deck would fit her better. I mean, I literally used her to get the Xyz Spiders, and Number 28: Titanic Moth. So I feel like she should use them instead of Number 39: Utopia.

Besides, those chants were … kind of personal for Myrphe’s false backstory. So if she doesn’t use them, it just feels wrong.

… but there is a problem. There are basically no Insects in the current tournament card pool. And even my Collection has no good Xyz focused Insect monsters. There are the Digital Bugs, but that is basically it. Inzektor, I suppose, but neither of those archetypes even have a Number monster associated with them.

For Spiders, there is basically nothing. Of course there are the rank 4, 10, 11 and 12 Number spiders, but they lack a main deck. Just Spyder Spider does not make a main deck, and it isn’t even all that good.

Now for butterflies, you might think Butterspies is an option. But they aren’t Insects. They are Warriors!

So I have to make myself a custom deck. And update the card pool with all the cards needed for it.

It isn’t a big problem as I’m updating the card pool anyway. I didn’t have the Sphere Field finished yet, and it still isn’t.

And since I’m about to add the Xyz spiders, Numbers 70, 35, 84 and 77 in the next ‘patch’, I can add a deck around them at the same time. And since 70 is Rank 4, a rank 4 focus deck is probably the best. But with a card that can make level 4s into level 7s or 10s for the turn. Level 7s are needed for Titanic Moth.

Spoiler

[collapse]

There are other Number Insect monsters, but those 5 will be the main 4 Myrphe will be going for. I might also make her one more Butterfly based Xyz monster, but it won’t be a Number. … actually, it might be.

Numbers such as 95 and 62 won’t be Number monsters in the tournament, since they’ll be a part of my boss deck. So I can make one of them be a Butterfly or Moth Xyz monsters.

Spoiler

[collapse]

But the main deck is the bigger problem. If I make it too good, the tournament will be boring. And others will also be running it.

The main two monsters of her deck will be Rainbow Spider and Rainbow Butterfly. Rainbow Spider comes from the manga, where Kyoji Yagumo used it. And as I said when I got them, he is also the one who used Titanic Moth and the Xyz Spiders. Now I don’t recall Rainbow Spider ever having an effect, so I can just make my own.

Both will have similar effects. Both can special summon themselves if there is an Xyz monster on the field, and on summon they have an effect.

Rainbow Butterfly will allow you to add an Insect from deck to hand. And if it is detached from an Xyz Monster and sent to the GY to activate that monster's effect, you get to Special summon an Insect-type “Rainbow” monster from the deck. Yes, including another copy of itself.

Meanwhile the Spider, on summon, allows you to Foolish up to 2 Insect monsters from your deck. And if it, on the field, is destroyed by your opponent’s card, battle or effect, you can special summon Insect monsters from your GY up to the number of Xyz monsters your opponent controls.

Oh, and before you wonder, the on summon effect will be once per turn. A hard once per turn. Otherwise they might be a little too good.

This duo should put in some work, but there will need to be some more. But I’ll think about them later and I’ll also reveal them later.

Alright, now that I’ve made that decision, maybe some evolutions? Well, more like Rank-Ups.

Because I think my tamed monsters could use some rank ups.

And that naturally starts with my trusty steed, who I never use in combat because she just isn’t strong enough, Rani.

Like last time1CH.695, she got the Argent Chaos Force rank up. It turned her from a B-rank Silver-Space Horse to a B-rank Silver-Star Horse.

Spoiler

[collapse]

Space to Star might seem like a downgrade, but I think you all are starting to see where I’m going with this. Rani is silvery and has star powers. Well, she can’t make or manipulate Stardust, yet, but she’ll get there.

Next up, Glad. He got a Raid Force and went from a Phantom Hippogriff to an A-rank Raid-Phantom Hippogriff. This evolution had him develop some metallic looking parts across his body, similar to what the Raidraptors have.

Spoiler

[collapse]

Now, Aoi Koiru was going to be facing an important Rank-Up. As it is the one that will evolve her from the D-rank Forest Snake to a C-rank monster. It will really be giving her the start of her evolution path. So she got the Rank-Up-Magic Numeron Force. It sadly just is the best option.

Spoiler

[collapse]

It evolved her into a C-rank Water Snake. Probably because of her blue color, because in my tests, it could pick any of the standard four attributes, Fire, Water, Earth and Wind. Barian’s Force resulted in Light and Dark evolutions, fyi.

And being a Water Snake just fits Aoi. And you never know, she might evolve to get some other cool things. Maybe I can bake some Wind into her and eventually make her into a Lightning Snake.

Time for Mothra. She naturally got another copy of Rank-Up-Magic Cipher Ascension.

Spoiler

[collapse]

It evolved her from a Lightwave Rainbow Butterfly into a Neo-Lightwave Rainbow Butterfly. Still S-rank. The improvements were honestly barely even noticeable, so it wasn’t as big as you might think. She didn’t grow additional heads or anything, despite the Neo in her name. She clearly doesn’t take after the dragons.

Hege Natrix is not ready for her rank-up. Especially since the only rank-up that would work on her is Hyper Learning Force. And that rank up is a lot more intense than the usual ones, at least based on how Nir described it. So I’m giving Natrix more time before she will go through it.

Spoiler

[collapse]

The same goes for Himeśaila. She isn’t ready for the Hyper Learning Force.

Luna though got her Rank-Up. And she got a strange, somewhat experimental one. Rise Rank-Up-Magic Raidraptor's Force.

Spoiler

[collapse]

Usually it is used with two monsters, combining them together into one super strong monster. … but that, in my tests, resulted in a Gojira situation where the monster went mad with power.

So I made some slight customizations to a copy and used it on Luna. That turned her into a Rising-Moon Owl.

And last, Swampert got his first Rank-Up. I used Numeron Force on him, because I didn’t have a better idea. He went from a Mud-Water Alligator into a Mud-Water Crocodile. Which seems so random. How can an Alligator turn into a Crocodile?

Well, whatever. Swampert is a bit larger now, and quite a bit more powerful. Not like a crazy change, but a good increase still.

And that is it for Rank-Ups.

And since it is, how about some packs?

Of course I’m opening more Invasion: Vengeance packs. I have 10 queued up, so lets just get straight into it.

Spoiler

INOV 1

Paleozoic Dinomischus; Doki Doki; Graydle Slime Jr.; Performapal Changeraffe; Quarantine; Cipher Mirror Knight; Pandora's Jewelry Box; Sauravis, the Ancient and Ascended; Superheavy Samurai Soulpeacemaker

[collapse]

Cipher Mirror Knight is decent. It acts like a handtrap that you discard when a Cipher monster is destroyed, and you get to summon back that monster. And then during the end phase you get a search.

And Superheavy Samurai Soulpeacemaker forces your opponent to attack the monster it is equipped to. And you can tribute it and the monster it is equipped to to special a Superheavy Samurai from the deck.

Next pack.

Spoiler

INOV 2

Crystron Thystvern; Predaplant Moray Nepenthes; Paleozoic Dinomischus; Fairy Tail - Sleeper; Cipher Mirror Knight; Caninetaur; Crystolic Potential; Poly-Chemicritter Dioxogre; Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon

[collapse]

Nothing new here, but Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon is still such a cool monster. That design is just fantastic.

Next pack.

Spoiler

INOV 3

Raremetalfoes Bismugear; Quarantine; Paleozoic Marrella; Chemicritter Carbo Crab; Flower Cardian Maple with Deer; Flower Cardian Peony with Butterfly; Poly-Chemicritter Hydragon; Cyber Angel Vrash; SPYRAL MISSION - Assault

[collapse]

Cyber Angel Vrash is pretty nice. Sure destroying everything summoned from the extra deck is useless for me, but double attacking and protecting cards from effect destruction are great.

And SPYRAL MISSION - Assault is a draw card.

Next pack.

Spoiler

INOV 4

Paleozoic Eldonia; Paleozoic Marrella; Flower Stacking; Performapal Flip Hippo; Mare Mare; Summon Gate; Crystron Smiger; The Phantom Knights' Rank-Up-Magic Launch; Meteor Dragon Red-Eyes Impact

[collapse]

Speaking of Rank-Ups, The Phantom Knights' Rank-Up-Magic Launch. Obviously I already had it, but this is the first time I pulled it from a pack.

Meteor Dragon Red-Eyes Impact is a bit slow, as all Gemini monsters are, but it is nice. Alice will definitely get a copy of it.

Next pack.

Spoiler

INOV 5

Paleozoic Eldonia; Quarantine; Predaplant Moray Nepenthes; Cipher Mirror Knight; Aromaseraphy Angelica; Crystolic Potential; Flower Cardian Maple with Deer; Space Dragster; Crystron Quan

[collapse]

Space Dragster is a Trap monster Tuner that protects your other Tuners from being destroyed. All it really needs is an effect to Synchro during your opponent’s turn as long as you use it as a Tuner.

Next pack.

Spoiler

INOV 6

Fraud Freeze; Crystron Thystvern; Paleozoic Dinomischus; Paleozoic Leanchoilia; Amazing Pendulum; Doki Doki; Performapal Changeraffe; Space Dragster; Subterror Behemoth Stygokraken

[collapse]

Fraud Freeze is good, but it is Flower Cardian locked. I mean, if it wasn’t, it would be overpowered.

Subterror Behemoth Stygokraken destroys set cards, can special summon itself and can flip itself face down.

Next pack.

Spoiler

INOV 7

Performapal Flip Hippo; Fairy Tail - Sleeper; Cipher Twin Raptor; Crystolic Potential; Cipher Bit; Cipher Mirror Knight; Amazing Pendulum; Fullmetalfoes Fusion; Flower Cardian Boardefly

[collapse]

Cipher Twin Raptor specials itself and can then special a Cipher monster from the deck.

Fullmetalfoes Fusion is a Quick-Play Fusion for Metalfoes.

And Flower Cardian Boardefly gives Flower Cardians piercing, and can prevent effect activation in the GY, as well as resurrection.

Next pack.

Spoiler

INOV 8

Performapal Changeraffe; Double Cipher; Performapal Seal Eel; Mare Mare; Flower Cardian Maple with Deer; Cipher Twin Raptor; Crystolic Potential; Crystron Quan; SPYRAL MISSION - Assault

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

INOV 9

Cipher Twin Raptor; Flower Cardian Maple with Deer; Sprite's Blessing; Pandora's Jewelry Box; Performapal Changeraffe; Doki Doki; Performapal Flip Hippo; Paleozoic Opabinia; Predaplant Flytrap

[collapse]

Predaplant Flytrap gives a monster a Predator Counter. Then when it attacks a monster with 1, it automatically destroys it. And it grows in level equal to the level of the monster destroyed.

Next pack.

Spoiler

INOV 10

Predaplant Squid Drosera; Double Cipher; Aromaseraphy Angelica; Fairy Tail - Sleeper; Graydle Slime Jr.; Crystron Rosenix; PSY-Frame Multi-Threader; Crystron Phoenix; Predaplant Flytrap

[collapse]

PSY-Frame Multi-Threader is okay. It is a decent card in a pure-ish PSY-Frame deck, but outside of it, you’ll just use the Driver.

And Crystron Phoenix banishes all Spells and Traps your opponent controls, and in their GY, on summon.

And that is it. 14 new cards. Alright, I suppose.
