CH.758 How to actually use the Number Archive
So today I decided to take another crack at the Number Archive. Because there are a few cards I kind of want for the tournament. And while I could recreate them from memory, I can also just … try to actually get them. Sure I already did, but I think I have an idea on how I can actually make this work.
Because I thought over what the Numeron Dragon told me. According to him, my memories allowed me to ‘force’ the Numbers to appear.

So I began thinking of the first Number I wanted to make. The person who used it, why they used it and how they used it. And to help me with all of that, I visited the Memory Palace and re-read the Yugioh Zexal Manga, thanks promo cards for reminding me of it. Because the person who used it wasn’t in the anime, only the manga.
Kyoji Yagumo. He used some Numbers that I have, like Number 23 and 21.

But he also used 5 that I don’t have yet. 5 Numbers that I would like to have. So I began by focusing on the weakest of them. Number 70.
I was about to start a chant. But something felt off. I wasn’t sure what until I let my instincts guide me. And as I did, my body changed and I turned into Myrphe.
I wasn’t sure why I felt that I needed to be Myrphe for this, but it did feel oddly appropriate. So with Myrphe’s voice, I began the chant.
“A small wrong can force a soul down a dark path.” I began to chant, before I even knew for sure if this was going to work. “Along that path, a Spider might latch onto your heart and drag you deeper in. Will you fight the Sin or let it grow, the choice is yours.
Number Archive, bring out Number 70. Malevolent Sin!” I called out, as I let the Archive activate its effect.
And this time, the mysterious archive responded to me. A black Number card was brought out and it flew to my hand. I caught it, and as I placed it on top of the Archive on my duel disk, I watched as the Archive compressed down into a large spider.
Well, large is a questionable term. Sure the almost 2 meter long spider is huge if you consider it in terms of being on Earth, but here. In this world. A 2 meter spider is B-rank at best. And that is if it is some sort of super venomous spider. If it is a less special spider, a monster that size would be C-rank.

Anyway. I had done it. I ‘forced’ a new Number to appear. So I quickly returned it to the hand, put it in a sleeve and a toploader, and placed it safely within my Collection.
Now, time to do it again. But with a much larger spider. … Actually, Number 35 was quite small in the manga. But for some reason, I get the feeling it won’t be when I summon it.
“I hunger what the world doesn’t give me. I don’t know what it is, but I want it. I need it. I will do anything I must to obtain it.
So watch as I consume the world in my search for it. Come, Number 35: Ravenous Tarantula!”
Spoiler
Since I referenced the manga size of this monster a few times already, here is the manga page where both 35 and 84 appear. Just so you get an idea how small they were in the manga. I don’t like that, so I’m making them appropriately large. I can't actually link it as an image because it is a .webp file, but you can see it if you click the link below.

Again my Archive shot out a blank Number, and as soon as it was in my hand, in Myrphe’s hand, it twisted to the form I wanted. And the Archive twisted with it, forming a large spider monster next to me.
Ravenous Tarantula was nearly 10 meters long, so a lot larger than Number 70. And a lot larger than it ever was in the manga. Then again, it was tiny in the manga for no reason. Well, maybe to not look threatening so that they’d be underestimated.
I returned the spider to my hand, sleeved the card and placed it into Collection, and prepared to summon another one.
“My suffering grants me the strength to carry on in this forsaken world. And the spider that embodies that pain has weaved its web around me.
The web shall spread and the whole world will know my pain. So appear, Number 84: Pain Gainer!”

You know the deal. Blank Number that I twisted to be what I wanted, and a giant spider appeared. Pain Gainer was a bit larger than Ravenous Tarantula, but not all that much. And its giant watermelon looking rear made my hungry for some watermelon. Maybe I’m turning into the Ravenous Tarantula.
I returned the Pain Gainer to the hand and prepared for the biggest of the spiders.
As I thought of the chant in my head, I felt something crawling on my back. Were they the sins I’ve committed or maybe the ones the world had? I don’t know, but it felt appropriate considering this monster.
“Since the beginning of civilization, Seven vices have festered in people. Those vices have weaved a web across the world, and on that web lives the spider that embodies all Sin, and its threads rule the false heaven.
Become a fleeting illusion and guide the disintegration of souls! Number 77: The Seven Sins!”

And like that, I brought forth the last of the Xyz Spiders. And oh boy was this one large. More like huge.
The Seven Sins’ main body was around 25 meters long, and its legspan was almost 50 meters. It was massive.
But at the end of the day, it was still just a monster I summoned. And thus it followed my orders, including the one to return to my hand. Well, I might have had to Compulse it to do so, but whatever. I once again put a sleeve and toploader on the card and secured it within my Collection.
With that, I was done with the spiders. But I didn’t change myself back yet. Because there is still one more Number Myrphe can get. At least I think so.
So with another chant and a roll of the die, I summoned out Number 28: Titanic Moth.

That should be everything related to Kyoji Yagumo, so I changed myself back to … well, myself. No need to be Myrphe any longer.
But I wasn’t quite done yet. Because I think I can get at least a few more Numbers.
The next one I tried for was Number 37: Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark. Which is actually a remade version of Number 70: Deadly Sin. Basically, after the defeat of Kyoji Yagumo, Shark got Number 70 and used his will to turn it into Number 37.

Because Kyoji no longer willed the blank cards to look the way he wanted, it allowed Shark to turn it into a new Number. No clue why the actual Number changed, but it did.
Sadly, despite my attempt, I couldn’t get that Number to appear. Maybe I misunderstood it somehow, or I was just doing something wrong. It might have something to do with why I transformed into Myrphe for the Xyz Spiders. Maybe I need some sort of Shark race to be able to make myself Number 37.
But I can still think of a few more Numbers I can try for. Like Number 94: Crystalzero. It was used by Shark in the anime, though it is more of a card that fits her sister. And for it, I have a prefect race. Prism-Ice Being.

And with the correct race, and the story of Reginald and Rio on my mind, I asked the Archive for the Number and it delivered.
… then I ran into a wall. Because there were no more Numbers from the Anime or Manga that I didn’t have.
But that doesn’t mean there aren’t more Numbers. Because I’m definitely missing some, even outside of the 37 I lack.
One I remember is some sort of Dragluon retrain, so I tried to get that but I failed. Another one was a Rank 4 Machine monster that supported the Superdreadnoughts, but when I tried to go for it, I also failed.

But I decided to try that one again. Maybe with someone who knows the Superdreadnoughts better than I do. And that someone is Wilma.
So I quickly sent her a mental message and after I got her permission, I teleported her to Quarry where I was doing all of these summonings.
I didn’t tell her too much, I just gave her the cards needed to summon the Number Archive, and let her go from there. I was basically hoping she would enter a sort of ‘flow’ state where she could just make a new Number.
And she did. On her first try, she called out Number 27: Dreadnought Dreadnoid.

Sadly she didn’t get any more cards despite a few more tries, but still, one new card is one new card.
Now, I just got a lot of new Numbers. And I also got plenty in the past two chapters. So an update on the Numeron Code is in order.
In fact, I’d gotten to 95 Numbers. Which does mean I got a new Numeron Code ability. That of All-Sight.
All-Sight is interesting. With it, I can pick an area and then I’ll see everything within that area. It doesn’t matter if there are walls or barriers or anything blocking my way. I can see it all. I also hear everything, in case you were wondering.
Now using it on a large area is basically impossible if I don’t use Thought Acceleration, but that is an acceptable fact. Because I can now easily spy on the states without even having to send a soul copy there. I can just use All-Sight to keep an eye on the important areas, like the meeting room and the room the Power Structure Holder is staying in.
I have to say, this ability will be really useful when they actually start their plan. Because I’ll be able to keep an eye on everything, so I’ll be able to manage my forces perfectly.
I’ll need to stack up on some more Xyz energy before that though. But I think I can manage.
On the Chaos side of the Numeron Code, I unlocked Barian Creation. Which can turn someone into a Barian. And while it does give them a ton of power, it does also leave them with a backdoor I can exploit to control their every action.
So I’m not sure how I feel about using it. It isn’t a bad thing because I can turn someone into a powerful warrior in an instant, but it is a bit iffy.
Nothing new on the S/F side, but that is to be expected.
