CH.753 Generic Pack Opening chapter title number #27
Alright. Today is just a pack day. I’ve missed my packs, so I’m going to open more.
I might even complete two sets. The two smaller sets I got last time. I don’t think I’m missing all that many cards from them, so completing them should be no problem.
But first I’m opening 10 packs of each of the three sets I have yet to complete.
Starting with The Dark Illusion.
Spoiler

TDIL 3
Magician's Robe; Wrecker Panda; Magical Mid-Breaker Field; Metalfoes Counter; Destruction Sword Memories; Pendulum Hole; Triamid Fortress; D/D Savant Thomas; Metalfoes Combination

Next pack.
Spoiler
TDIL 4
Super Hippo Carnival; Metalfoes Silverd; Performapal Life Swordsman; Forbidden Dark Contract with the Swamp King; Scapeghost; Red Gardna; Fusion Fright Waltz; Paleozoic Anomalocaris; Metalfoes Crimsonite
[collapse]
Metalfoes Crimsonite is just a 3k vanilla that needs 3 materials to fusion summon. So not worth it. Well, maybe with Super Poly.
Next pack.
Spoiler
TDIL 5
Paleozoic Hallucigenia; Destruction Sword Memories; Performapal Radish Horse; King Scarlet; Frightfur Sanctuary; Red Mirror; Paleozoic Canadia; Amaterasu; SPYRAL Quik-Fix
[collapse]
Amaterasu is really cool. Despite being a Spirit monster, it doesn’t really play like a Spirit. Instead it is this control game where you flip it face down and get a draw, and when you flip it face up, you get to banish everything else. So honestly a great card. I also like the design a lot.
SPYRAL Quik-Fix searches for SPYRAL GEARs.
Next pack.
Spoiler
TDIL 6

Next pack.
Spoiler

[collapse]
And nothing new here. Only 6 new cards from 10 packs. Not all that great. Well, whatever.
Time to change sets and try again.
So yeah. To Dragons of Legend: Unleashed we go.
Spoiler
DRL3 1
Special Schedule; Lord of the Red; Scrum Force; Legendary Knight Critias; Number 100: Numeron Dragon
[collapse]
Ooh! I got the Numeron Dragon! Another God monster to add to my Collection.
And it is quite a nice monster. Sure it is situational, since you have to use it in an Xyz deck, and more specifically a Number deck. But the effects are quite nice.
It will be really funny when someone summons an SF Number during the tournament and they get this beast. Because yes, you can summon it. Though my version is a bit different.
The attack gain effect the SF version has can target any Xyz monster on the field, and then give that monster the attack boost based on the total combined rank of all Xyz monsters on the field. Also, the SF version doesn’t have that mass destruction when destroyed. And it can’t special itself from the GY if you are attacked.
But both players do get to set a card from their GY when SF Numeron Dragon is destroyed.
Anyway. Now I have the real version and I can summon it. I wonder what I can learn from the dragon? Maybe it can teach me how to be better with the Numeron Code? Because if I recall correctly, the dragon made it.
Maybe it can even fix the dimensional barrier. It might be able to.
… okay, let’s talk about the other two new cards. Special Schedule is just a very limited Monster Reborn.
And Scrum Force protects defense position monsters from card effects.
Next pack
Spoiler
DRL3 2
Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight; Flower Cardian Paulownia; Mirror Force Dragon; Night Express Knight; Flower Cardian Lightshower
[collapse]
Night Express Knight is a good normal summon in a rank 10 deck. And it does look kind of cool.
Flower Cardian Lightshower is nice. Protection from card effects is great, and the burn damage can also be nice. Sure there is the negative side effect of having to give up your draw phase or those effects are negated, but it might just be worth it.
Next pack.
Spoiler
DRL3 3
Number 78: Number Archive; Cyber Petit Angel; Tyrant Burst Dragon; Soul Charge; Flower Cardian Lightshower
[collapse]
Number 78: Number Archive. … is both terrible and busted. Because it can get me all of the Number monsters! But the downsides make it terrible. But it can get me all the Numbers, so I can complete the Numeron Code. So I can … well, do whatever I want, basically.
Now someone might say that 78 can only get me the Numbers between 1 and 99. But I already have Number 100, as well as 101 to 107. So all the Numbers I’m missing I can acquire.
Cyber Petit Angel searches for a 1 Cyber Angel monster or Machine Angel Ritual when summoned.
Next pack.
Spoiler
DRL3 4
Berserker Soul; Snow Plow Hustle Rustle; Kuribandit; Mound of the Bound Creator; Flower Cardian Pine
[collapse]
Flower Cardian Pine draws you a card on summon, and then draws you another when destroyed.
Next pack.
Spoiler
DRL3 5
Cyber Petit Angel; Amulet Dragon; Flower Cardian Pine with Crane; Zushin the Sleeping Giant; Flower Cardian Lightshower
[collapse]
Flower Cardian Pine with Crane does more card drawing.
Next pack.
Spoiler
DRL3 6
Wiretap; Legend of Heart; Mound of the Bound Creator; Goddess Bow; Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
DRL3 7
Rocket Hermos Cannon; Scrum Force; Lord of the Red; Performapal Uni; Number 100: Numeron Dragon
[collapse]
Performapal Uni lets you special summon a Performapal from the hand. And it can banish itself and one other Performapal from the GY to negate battle damage.
Next pack.
Spoiler
DRL3 8
Legendary Knight Hermos; Flower Cardian Pine with Crane; The Fang of Critias; Soul Charge; The Blazing Mars
[collapse]
The Blazing Mars can special itself from the GY and can deal burn damage.
Next pack.
Spoiler
DRL3 9
Zushin the Sleeping Giant; Machine Angel Ritual; Flower Cardian Willow with Calligrapher; Lord of the Red; The Grand Jupiter
[collapse]
Machine Angel Ritual is just a Ritual Spell for Cyber Angels. Well, it can banish itself from the GY to protect them from destruction.
Next pack.
Spoiler
DRL3 10
Guardian Dreadscythe; Scrum Force; Relay Soul; Flower Cardian Paulownia with Phoenix; The Suppression Pluto
[collapse]
Flower Cardian Paulownia with Phoenix just does more Flower Cardian things. Aka. drawing cards.
Now, I have to say, that was quite a bit better than The Dark Illusion. I got 13 new cards. And two of them are absolutely busted.
But before I complete the Numeron Code and learn how to use it, 10 more packs.
Of Destiny Soldiers.
Spoiler
DESO 1
Creeping Darkness; Darklord Superbia; Abyss Actor - Sassy Rookie; Abyss Script - Fire Dragon's Lair; Abyss Actor - Wild Hope
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Abyss Actor - Sassy Rookie protects either itself or other Abyss Actors from destruction.
Next pack.

DESO 4
Destiny HERO - Dogma; Destiny HERO - Dynatag; Darklord Edeh Arae; Creeping Darkness; Abyss Actor - Superstar
[collapse]
Abyss Actor - Superstar can either recover Abyss Script Spells, or set them directly from the deck.
Next pack.
Spoiler
DESO 5
Escape from the Dark Dimension; Destiny Draw; Dark Hole; Abyss Actors Back Stage; D-Fusion
[collapse]
D-Fusion could be good. I mean, it kind of is. But the targeting and effect destruction only lasts for the turn, and for that, it is too specific and it is a trap. You can’t even use cards in hand with it. Not that that is a big downside when I use it, but TCG use.
Next pack.
Spoiler
DESO 6
Destiny Signal; Destiny HERO - Drilldark; Fires of Doomsday; Darklord Edeh Arae; Abyss Actor - Evil Heel
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.

[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
DESO 10
Destiny HERO - Dynatag; Abyss Actor - Sassy Rookie; Dark Illusion; Abyss Script - Fire Dragon's Lair; Darklord Contact
[collapse]
Darklord Contact is just a Monster Reborn for Darklords.
So… only 4 new cards, huh. Well, whatever. I’ll just set up some Capsules for the remaining cards. There probably aren’t all that many.
There were actually more than I believed. I was missing 12 cards from the set. Plus 5 cards that were reprints, but I’m just going to ignore them, since I already had them in the Collection. Laura will get them anyway.
And since these monsters are members of three archetypes, I’ll go over them based on the archetype. Starting with Abyss Actors and Scripts.
Abyss Actor - Funky Comedian does attack boosting. Which sounds like something I’d like, but the way this Comedian does it isn’t my favorite.
Abyss Script - Fantasy Magic makes monsters that battled an Abyss Actor, but that weren’t destroyed, get returned to the hand.
Abyss Script - Opening Ceremony heals your LP. But if it is destroyed by your opponent when it is set, you get to draw until you have 5 cards in hand. And that is crazy good.
And Abyss Script - Rise of the Abyss King destroys stuff.
Spoiler
[collapse]
For Destiny Heroes, we have D Cubed. It can special summon 2 copies of itself from the deck. And if one is destroyed, you can Foolish Burial a Destiny Hero.
And Destiny HERO - Dystopia does burn and if its attack has been raised or lowered, it can destroy a card.
Spoiler
[collapse]
Then the Darklords.
Darklord Amdusc recover a Darklord from the GY if you discard it and another Darklord. And it can activate a Darklord spell or trap from the grave, and then shuffle it into the deck.
Darklord Ixchel can draw you 2 if you discard it and another Darklord. And it has the same activate Darklord spell or trap from the grave effect as Amdusc.
Darklord Nasten can special itself from the hand by discarding 2 other Darklords. And then it has the same GY activate Spell or Trap effect as the previous two.
Darklord Tezcatlipoca can discard itself to protect another Darklord from being destroyed. And yes, it also has the GY Spell/Trap activating effect.
Darklord Morningstar is pretty cool. Shame it can’t be special summoned, but it does make up for it by summoning Darklords from hand or deck equal to the number of opposing monsters on summon. It can also mill cards from the top of your deck, and it gains 500 attack for each Darklord you mill.
And last, Darklord Enchantment. It is a Change of Heart but you need to send a Darklord from hand or field to the GY to activate it.
Spoiler
[collapse]
So that is everything from Destiny Soldiers. I’m also getting the last cards from Dragons of Legend: Unleashed, since I’m likely not missing all that many from that either.
And I was lacking 11 cards. 3 of them being Number monsters, which I really wanted to get. Both because then I don’t have to grind them with Number Archive, and so that I don’t have to make up as many Numbers to fill in the Sphere Field extra deck. Because no, I haven’t fully made it yet, but I’m working on it.
… what? I’ve been busy making all the custom Chaos Numbers. And I knew I might get sets with the missing Number monsters while I worked on those, so I just let them be until later.
But let's go over the cards.
Flower Cardian Willow specials itself and can shuffle a Flower Cardian from the GY into the deck and then draw a card.
Flower Cardian Zebra Grass specials itself and when summoned, you get to Magical Mallet Flower Cardian monsters.
Flower Gathering specials 4 Flower Cardians from the deck with their effects negated. Not OP at all or anything.
Spoiler
[collapse]
Hand-Holding Genie gains defense equal to the combined original defense of all other monsters you control, and only it can be attacked.
Odd-Eyes Mirage Dragon protects Odd-Eyes from being destroyed.
The Despair Uranus works with Continuous Spell and Traps. It protects them and gains attack for each.
The Tripper Mercury forces everything into attack position on summon and can attack twice. And if you tributed 3 monsters to summon it, all monsters your opponent controls lose attack equal to their original attack.
Spoiler
[collapse]
Cyber Angel Benten does burn based on the defense of the monster it destroyed by battle.
Number 51: Finisher the Strong Arm has a stupid counter based effect that gives you a Raigeki effect.
Number 59: Crooked Cook is unaffected by everything and gains attack by destroying your stuff.
And Number 98: Antitopian force monsters that declared an attack into defense position.
Spoiler
[collapse]
So yeah. Dragons of Legend: Unleashed is also completed. Next time, I’m summoning the Number Archive and Numeron Dragon.
