CH.744 Cards obtained in the Past
Alright. So, as you might recall, I never spoke about Pack Opener during my recap of the past. And that is because there simply wasn’t a good time for it.
But you better believe I opened a lot of packs during my time in the past. To the point where all the sets I have open are fully completed now. So now is as good of a time as any to talk about all the cards I got.
And we are going in the order of sets. Starting with the Dimension of Chaos.
From where you knew my progress, I was missing 29 cards. And as always, I’ll ‘review’ then starting with the main deck monsters.
Assault Blackwing - Kunai the Drizzle is okay, but needing to tribute to special summon it can be costly. The level altering also isn’t all that great, but maybe sometimes you can use it.
Charging Gaia the Fierce Knight is fine. Being able to summon it without tributes at 1900 attack is good. And the search when tributed also works. Though sadly it is still level 7, so it can’t be the entire tribute for a BLS ritual.
Evening Twilight Knight is good. Sure it just gives a BLS ritual additional effects, but the effects are nice.
Giant Pairfish specials Wyrms from the deck, which is nice. But just based on the art and when it came out, it should have been an Aquaactress. They could have used a monster that lets them special summon from the deck.
Kozmo Dark Destroyer is another space ship. But even outside of that, it is pretty good.
Kozmo DOG Fighter is fine. The token summoning is good.
Kozmo Strawman is fine, but it is more of a combo piece or a monster that brings back banished Kozmos than something I’d use.
Majespecter Raccoon - Bunbuku is a Majespecter that searches a Majespecter when summoned. Yeah. I hate it.
Majespecter Cat - Nekomata is the same, but at least it only does the search during the end phase.
Performapal Splashmammoth is decent in Fusion Odd-Eyes decks, but not really anywhere else.
Skilled Red Magician is not for Red-Eyes. It works with Archfiends.
And The Legendary Fisherman III can put in some work, but it isn’t amazing by any metric.

Now to the extra deck. … well, there is also one ritual monster to mention, but I saved it here because it deserves to be with extra deck monsters.
Assault Blackwing - Raikiri the Rain Shower is really nice for a Blackwing deck. Outside of it, it is an average Synchro monster.
Black Luster Soldier - Super Soldier is the one Ritual that I got from this set. It is a decent upgrade, but could be even better. It still has no protection.
D/D/D Duo-Dawn King Kali Yuga is great. It prevents card and effect activation, and can wipe out all Spells and Traps. And it can also Dark Contract cards from the GY.
D/D/D Wave Oblivion King Caesar Ragnarok is great. I love monsters that gain attack.
Frightfur Sabre-Tooth is fine. The attack boost it gives is useful, and with 3 materials, it is nearly indestructible.
Graydle Dragon is okay, but not really what Graydles normally do.
Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon returns monsters to hand and can negate Spell and Trap activations.

Spells are next.
Gateway to Chaos is very mediocre for what it is trying to be. Sure the on activation effect is nice, but that is all. For a Field Spell from 2015, very disappointing.
Odd-Eyes Fusion is great. Being able to use monsters from your extra deck as materials really makes it better than your average fusion spell.
Painful Decision is another card that is good for TCG use, but only okay for me.
And Super Soldier Ritual is exactly that. A ritual spell. While it does have that decent GY effect, it also has the downside of needing an exact match on the level, instead of the usual match or above.

And last, traps.
Blazing Mirror Force is just Mirror Force but with more fire.
Graydle Parasite specials Graydles from the deck.
Majespecter Tornado is a part of why I hate Majespecters. Okay, I moreso hate them because they are a control deck that never runs out of resources, but cards like Tornado don’t help.
Painful Escape is a bad searcher.
Super Soldier Shield can negate a Spell/Trap/Monster effect that targets a monster.
And Urgent Ritual Art can act as any Ritual spell you have in your GY.

So that was everything from Dimension of Chaos, let’s move onto the next set.
That set is The Secret Forces.
And since it is a smaller set, I wasn’t missing nearly as much from it. Only 13 cards.
Ritual Beast Tamer Lara is nice. Sure it is basic, just summoning a Ritual Beast from the GY on summon, but that is just fine. Fantasia also likes wearing her outfit, so that might be a boost.
Shurit, Strategist of the Nekroz is great. Acting as the entire tribute is fantastic, and it searches while at it.
Yosenju Kama 1 is a part of the Yosenju normal summon combo. It is fine.
Yosenju Misak is basically Ally of Justice Catastor, but instead of Dark, Misak lets wind through.
Mayosenju Daibak is nice. The on summon return 2 to hand is good, and 3k attack is always nice.

Now the Rituals. They get their own section as there are 5 of them. And as a surprise to no one, they are all Necroz.
Nekroz of Brionac is great. Discard it to search any Nekroz monster. The on field effect is also nice, but a little too specific as it only affects extra deck monsters.
Nekroz of Catastor is fine. Discard it to resurrect a Nekroz. And on the field, Nekroz can destroy extra deck monsters at the start of the damage step.
Nekroz of Clausolas can be discarded to search Nekroz spells and traps. Or on the field, it can negate the effects of an extra deck monster, and reduce its attack to 0.
Nekroz of Decisive Armor can be discarded for a 1000 attack boost. Or be used to destroy and banish Set cards.
Nekroz of Valkyrus can negate an attack and end the battle phase, or let you tribute 2 monsters, including from the hand, to draw 2 cards.

Now all that is left is 2 fusions and 1 trap.
Ritual Beast Ulti-Apelio is a pretty basic Ritual Beast. It is unaffected by everything when attacking and can be tributed to bring back a banished Ritual Beast Tamer and Spiritual Beast.
Ritual Beast Ulti-Cannahawk can search by returning banished Ritual Beasts to the GY. And then has the same tribute itself to special summon effect as Ulti-Apelio.
And Yosenjus' Secret Move negates spells, traps or monster effects.

Onto the next set.
Next up, World Superstars.
And I was actually missing 20 cards from it.
Chronomaly Nebra Disk is nice. I mean, it is an on-summon search, so of course it is good.
Elemental HERO Blazeman is okay. Poly search is nice, as is the Foolish Burial for attribute and attack swap.
Galaxy-Eyes Cloudragon can tribute itself to special summon a Galaxy-Eyes from the GY. And it can attach itself to a Galaxy-Eyes Xyz as a material from the GY.
Star Seraph Scepter is another searcher. And the ‘if used as Xyz material for a summon that needs 3, pop a card’ is also good.
And Star Seraph Sovereignty is great. Specials itself, lets you draw a card, and if that card is a Star Seraph monster, you get to special that one as well.

For the extra deck, we have 5 Xyz monsters. All of them Numbers.
Number 18: Heraldry Patriarch is situational. It counters decks that run multiple monsters with the same name.
Number 36: Chronomaly Chateau Huyuk is pretty nice. Reducing the attack of something to 0 is something Chronomaly appreciates. And it can honestly be good in other decks as well. But it really should also negate their effects. And it really should be generic instead of Chronomaly only.
Number 55: Gogogo Goliath is okay, but really only usable in an Earth Rock deck.
Number 79: Battlin' Boxer Nova Kaiser is nice. It gains attack for each overlay unit it has, and when destroyed, you can summon Battlin' Boxers up to the number of material it had.
And Number F0: Utopic Future is okay. It just takes control of a monster it attacked. Which can sometimes be good.

Now, as you might have realized, I gained some additional cheats in the Numeron Code thanks to getting these Numbers, but I’ll talk about those later. Because there are still a lot of cards to go over.
Like some spells.
Dodododraw lets you discard a Dododo for a draw 2.
Dragoroar is made for Dragon Rulers, they are even in the image, but it still sucks. Too specific for not enough payoff.
Onomatopia is pretty nice. Counter based attack boosting is something I like. And it can also special summon stuff from the deck. Just a great card for a Yuma based deck.
And Photon Stream of Destruction is just a simple target and banish.
Spoiler

Now for the traps.
Guard Go! is situational, but potentially quite powerful. Not that I need it, unlimited summons trumps any sort of ‘summon form hand’ card.
Hi-Five the Sky allows an Xyz monster to attack again.
Jolt Counter negates a spell, trap or a monster effect during the battle phase, if you control a Battlin' Boxer.
Planckton is way too situational, and even in that situation, it isn’t good.
Tachyon Transmigration is busted, being able to negate multiple cards, as long as they are in the same chain. And it can be activated from the hand.
The Door of Destiny negates an attack and becomes an effect monster. And then during your standby, you can banish Utopia monsters for burn, and for this trap monster to gain attack.

And as you may have realized, that is another set completed.
One more before I stop for the day. I had too many sets, so there are a lot of cards to go over.
Last one for today is Dragons of Legend 2.
From it, I was missing 16 cards.
Aquaactress Arowana is nice. Once per turn searching is good, but it is a shame that effect is on a level 6. Even if Guppy can special Arowana from the hand.
Legendary Knight Critias is cool. When attacked, you basically get to activate a trap from the GY. Okay, you get to set it, but you can activate it this turn, so same result with an extra step.
Prediction Princess Crystaldine has a flip effect that adds a Ritual monster from deck or GY to hand, which would be fine, but this thing is level 5.
Prediction Princess Petalelf just forces everything the opponent controls to defense.
Paladin of Dark Dragon is fine. It is a Dragon Paladin, but it is a better one as it is newer. I guess the important thing is that you can special Darkness Metal with it.
Lord of the Red is fine. It destroys either a monster, or a spell or trap, after an effect activation.
Spoiler

Doom Virus Dragon is basically the OG Crush Card Virus. And yes, it is strong. I need to be extremely careful if I ever summon it outside the Factory.
Mirror Force Dragon is straight up unfair. Turning any attacks back on the opponent makes it extremely difficult to take down. I’d know, I trained a lot with it during my time in the past.
Tyrant Burst Dragon is okay, but nothing compared to Mirror Force and Doom Virus Dragons. Sure the multi-attacking can be a problem, but is is much easier to deal with than the other bullshit.
Rocket Hermos Cannon just lets the monster it is equipped to attack twice. And also gives it piercing.
Timaeus the Knight of Destiny is cool, but it basically just kills one monster and then fucks off.
Spoiler
[collapse]
Now, just 5 cards remaining. 4 Spells and a Trap.
Dark Dragon Ritual is pretty basic Ritual spell, but it can be banished to search for a Red-Eyes Spell or Trap.
Red-Eyes Transmigration is not that great. Yeah, it is another basic Ritual spell, but the additional part of banishing Red-Eyes monsters from the GY as a cost isn’t that helpful. Or at least it wasn’t until some of the latter Red-Eyes support, but it wasn’t out yet.
The Fang of Critias is just that. It can be used to summon the busted fusions I spoke about earlier.
Toon Kingdom is just a better Toon World. Much better.
And Toon Briefcase is nice. In the TCG. Negating a summon and shuffling the monster to the deck is great. Not that much for me, as summoning is rare, but you get the point.
Spoiler

Anyway. I still have 3 sets to go through. And two of them had a lot of cards I’d still yet to get, so those will have to wait until next time.
