CH.742 Stats after my time in the Past
“Alright Janina, bring it.” I said, as I transformed into my dragon form. A serpentine dragon form. During my time in the past, I had mastered it to quite high proficiency and I definitely saw the appeal over the western dragon form.
An eastern, serpentine dragon just is more agile, has better flow of magic, and even more attack power when used correctly.
While a western dragon is more bulky and has more defense. And honestly even Strength, but that comes at the cost of lacking the agility serpentine dragons have.
But you knew that already. So let’s get to this little strength showcase against Janina. In the Factory, naturally. We’d destroy a lot of things if we tried this outside of it.
After a night of fun, where I had to hold back a ton so that I didn’t hurt anyone, the girls wanted to see just how strong I really was. And Janina wanted to test if I was actually ready for her.
So she brought her true soul to the Factory and we prepared to have some fun.
And while we were having fun, Tahlia and Fantasia were sitting with their moms, as the two had missed them. Even if Tahlia doesn’t admit it.
{How much strength can I use?} Janina asked, her voice echoing in the empty Factory room.
{All of it.} I responded. {Or at least as much as you use against the hierarchy 2 Gods.} I specified. {I can fight them quite well, but the super Gods are a real challenge and I can’t always win. Fricking Emptiness not wanting to play around.}
Note: As a reminder, hierarchy 2 refers to Yugioh manga’s divine hierarchy. Basically, most ‘Gods’ are hierarchy 1. Ra is 2. Some others are also. For this series, I’ve written it to be so that each set of God monsters has 1 hierarchy 2 God. So Ra, Wicked Avatar, Raviel, Odin.
The ‘super’ Gods, aka. the combined forms are higher on the divine hierarchy, ranging from 4 to 5. Exodia is 7 and Numerounius Numerounia is 10.
{I see. Then I shall.} Janina said, and before anyone else would be able to react, she moved, crossing the span of the large Factory room in what would be a blink to a normal person.
But to me, it was just decently fast. And before Janina could attack me, I had already boosted my own speed, both movement and perception, with Time Magic. So now she was actually moving quite slowly.
I easily dodged her first claw swipe, returning the energy with my tail. Janina clearly wanted to test my strength, as she turned and crashed her tail into mine.
The force of the two dragon tails hitting each other caused a massive shockwave to ripple through the room, and it made me lucky that I’d set up the audience seating in a neighbouring room and added a screen to show the fight.
I also got a small injury from it, but Regeneration fixed it in under a second. It might be because Strength is now my highest stat and I’m using Time Magic to accelerate myself even further. So my attack power is stronger than usually, and my defense just cannot keep up with the recoil of the move.
Janina took a bit more damage than I did, but she also healed. She then activated a buff spell to get more Strength and Defense.
I thought about matching her and buffing myself with a spell, but I know Janina’s ability. She can copy any stat buffs I put on myself, be it magic or skill. But she can’t copy ability increases with things like Time Magic, as it isn’t a stat buff. So I’ll just have to keep being faster and use other skills to increase my defense, instead of stat buffs.
So I did just that. I let a Gravity Singularity Chain coil around my tail, reinforcing it and increasing its mass. However, since the chain itself is a gravitational singularity, it actually doesn’t slow me down at all.
With my body now more protected, Janina and I traded a few more blows. I was still faster than her, but with her buffs, our Strengths were about equal. But with the Gravity Singularity Chain protecting me, I wasn’t taking any damage, while Janina took quite a bit. Each time her tail struck the chain, the chain pulled some of her into the singularity, adding to the mass of my chain.
Still, this dance would take forever to end if we just hit each other with our claws or tails, so I decided to turn this melee fight into a ranged one. I began that by shooting out Time-Space Sealing Swords, temporarily trapping Janina.
I teleported away from her and prepared an ice breath in my mouth. When it was ready, I let out a massive burst of extremely cold energy. Which makes no sense as energy is always related to heat. You know conservation of energy. But Ice Magic can take away energy by using Mana, so …
Don’t question magic.
Janina had managed to bust my sealing swords, but with the time lag still applied to her, she wouldn’t be able to dodge. Instead she countered with Light, as she had already used Light attribute magic to destroy my sealing swords.
The Light attribute is actually quite a bad counter to ice, as ice can easily scatter and reflect light, but it is good at outputting energy, which can counter Ice Magic. As long as that energy is used correctly and not just as visible light that will mostly pass through ice. Especially my Prism-Ice.
And looking at Janina after taking that frost breath, she likely doesn’t know the difference. The ice blast hit her solid, and she now has a layer of frost covering most of her body.
I need to remind her about infrared and microwaves after our playfight.
I let the last few swords fade away while Janina warmed herself back up with some Fire Magic.
Meanwhile, I used Moon Magic to produce an artificial moon in the Factory room. I’d never used Moon Magic on Janina, so I wanted to show it off. And using it in the moonlight was much stronger, thus using a spell to make an artificial moon.
Janina, after she warmed back up, decided that she would also rely on ranged attacks. We did already test our CQB abilities, so it makes sense. She started off with a stream of high pressure water from her mouth. Which really isn’t the best choice. I have a moon above me. And do you know what the moon controls? The tides.
Thus, I easily grabbed a gravitational hold of Janina’s water, let it orbit around me before shooting it back at Janina. She seemed to have predicted that, as she brought up a claw, cracking with thunder. She used it to block the water stream, believing it would electrocute me. But the lightning didn’t make the jump from the orbit to me. Air isn’t a great conductor, while Janina’s impure water is. And the water isn’t directly touching me.
I let the gravity holding the water at bay go, instead focusing back on the moon. I increased the gravitational force of the moon, which dragged Janina towards it. She simply flipped around and began flying upside down. Well, compared to the room's usual gravity.
Because of that, I flipped gravity again, while also increasing it. This made Janina have to adjust again.
It was a weakness I noticed dragons have. During my time in the past, I spent many days in the Factory training with my ever strengthening skills. And the dragons were great practice partners. So I wanted to figure out counters to them, other than sheer force.
Gravity Magic was one of them. Dragons fly with basically Winged Flight. It does have some Mana Flight aspects and even Aerial Swimming, but it is closest to Winged Flight. Because of that, unlike Mana Flight, it is quite susceptible to alterations in gravity, as Winged Flight pushes against gravity.
But I really shouldn’t be exploiting too many of Janina’s weaknesses. … what? Didn’t you realize the one I already exploited? The one called ‘Janina is too strong so she doesn’t have to worry about type matchups’. I know this isn’t Pokemon, but it is a problem Janina has.
You saw it twice already. Light against ice instead of fire. Thinking that her water and lightning combination will work when the water isn’t touching me.
Well anyway, I should do the next thing.
I began to charge mana in my maw again, but this time it was for a Moon Magic spell. One inspired by Pokemon. Moon Blast.
Or to be more accurate, gravitron blast. Or whatever you want to call it. It shoots a gravitational core at an enemy, and it can really screw with their … everything.
It wasn’t nearly as dangerous as something like my Collapsing Star Cannon, which was a gravitron beam, but it was still quite good. I mean, it is literally a gravitational core, so you have to dodge an attack that is literally sucking you in.
Instead of trying to dodge it, Janina decided to go with the more offensive option. She coated her tail in light magic and smashed it into my Moon Blast, which caused an explosion of light. And some particles, but we are both strong enough to ignore those. … hopefully. I don’t want cancer and I don’t want Janina to get it either.
And because I wanted to make sure that wasn’t the case, I decided to flex a bit. I know I can end this fight if Janina stays at this level, so I will. And the swords I showed her earlier are a perfect tool for that.
Janina is strong, she really is. I mean, she did already once break out of my Time-Space Sealing Sword Barrage, but that was me holding back. This time, I’m going all out with the skill.
I teleported above her, increased gravity in the room to about 20 times usual, and generated over 500 swords above Janina. I fired them downwards, making sure I wouldn’t injure her too bad, and followed after the swords myself.
With our increased gravity and all of my magical swords pushing her downwards, Janina had no chance to stay flying and crashed into the ground. I held her down with the help of the swords, and since I now matched her in size, it probably looked like I had bound up the great Divine Dragon and was about to have my way with her. Which I hoped would cause her to have a reaction.
{I think I’m strong enough for you.} I whispered in her ear.
{... Yes. I think you might be.} She agreed, and surrendered.
After transforming into our human forms, Janina and I joined the others. They had fun watching us flirt. Their words, not mine. And it basically was dragon flirting. It's not my fault they like to fight.
But now, something I know you’ve been waiting for. My status.

“You never showed us the part where you became a Hero.” Wilma pointed out.
“Yeah, we never got to that.” I admitted. “I got the Hero titles and Hero race when I returned to this time. Thus the skills being level 1. Haven’t learned what they do yet, and haven’t had the time to level them up yet.”
