Chapter 120: Audrey.
When the girls were done exchanging numbers and promising to call each other, Tristan ordered their breakfast but as take out, seeing as they’d stayed beyond thirty minutes and his rent had expired.
"Call me." Mia mouthed to Bethany as she and Tristan headed towards the entrance, smiling widely.
"I will." Bethany mouthed back, sending a short wave as she disappeared behind the door, Tristan following closely.
"Soo... What do you think?" He finally asked the question he’d been wanting to ask since stepped out of the diner, stretching his arm to the back seat so he could keep their purchase.
"She’s soo.. gingerly. So happy, so easy. I couldn’t find any hidden emotions in her eyes. Her countenance was light and warm. I think I like her." She admitted, turning to see the look of pride as happiness on Tristan’s face.
"Already?" He asked, mustering a questioning look despite his happiness. "Thought you’d have to know more about her to do that."
"Well.." She drawled, looking away as she leaned in further into his plush leather seat. "Sometimes, it doesn’t take much to know someone’s a good person." She said shrugging. "Doesn’t mean I’m not going to watch her closely." She eyed him, causing him to break into laughter.
"Whatever you want, Bunny. I’m just happy my theory was right, or else I would’ve had to kill her." He said easily, turning on the car.
"What do you mean kill her?" She asked, looking up at him in confusion.
"You wouldn’t have liked her for some reasons, and she would’ve known our secret. So, since you guys wouldn’t have ended up being friends, that would make her a loose end. I don’t leave loose ends." He explained like he was explaining why it was going to rain that day, but the horrific look he say on her face when he glanced at her told him a lot.
