Chapter 79: Putting A Certain Alpha in His Place

"You can’t be serious right now." Kenny echoed behind me right before he stepped forward and draped his arm across my shoulders in a protective way.
Jason frowned at once, his eyes zeroing in on the hand Kenny had around my shoulder and I wanted to hurl a bag or a pair of shoe at him right now.
"What do you want, Jason?" I asked bristly, already feeling like the walls were starting to close in on me.
"Are you stalking him? The fuck are you doing here right now?" Kenny demanded almost at the same time, sounding quite angry. A scowl appeared on Jason’s face right before he stepped forward, making my heart hammer against my ribs when he stopped a few feet away.
"If you must know, I was by the hospital. This is nothing but a coincidence." He responded but for some reason, I couldn’t bring myself to believe him. Up close, I noticed the way eye bags were underneath his eyes which appeared tired, but that didn’t make him less menacing to me.
"How convenient, so you suddenly give a fuck about your grandma?" Kenny snipped at Jason whose scowl deepened. He and Kenny stared at each other pointedly and I could almost taste the tension in the air.
"I’ve always cared about my grandma, not that it’s any of your business," Jason finally snapped in response and Kenny let out a sarcastic, airy laugh.
"You sure have a weird and unusual way of showing that." He drawled and Jason gritted his teeth, clearly annoyed.
