Chapter 209: That scent?
Aiden’s raspy voice left Kylian a little awestruck as he wasn’t expecting him to be there to protect him since it had been quite a few times already when he was saved by Aiden from a bad fall. Turning his face around, when Kylian glanced at his dark hazel eyes fixated on him, it made him feel a little odd to notice there was a tint of obsession visible in them.
Since his wolf Morpheus was already concluding possible assumptions about Aiden’s gestures towards him, Kylian couldn’t stay calm and quickly unleashed himself from his rams, realizing his hold around his waist was getting a little tighter.
There was a momentary anticipating silence at first, but soon after getting a grip over his awkwardness, Kylian lividly smiled at him, "Oh...thank you for being there to protect me again, Aiden. It’s quite embarrassing to admit that we met at times when I tripped over..."
Aiden didn’t fail to notice the awkwardness hidden beneath his small smile but it left a small snort escape from him when he crossed his arms over his chest, answering in a rigid tone, "Well, I don’t mind it very much if you keep falling into my arms like this, Kylian. Just make sure to trip over whenever I am around you."
~ "I told you before too, this boy keeps hitting on you, but you’re too dense to even notice that, Kyle. Your naive nature sometimes irks me a lot..." When his wolf Morpheus grunted inside him all of a sudden, Kylian felt it a bit awkward to keep eye contact, especially after what Aiden had blatantly expressed.
Thus, he chose to press a small smile before urging in a stiff voice, "What...were you doing here, Aiden? I didn’t see you coming behind me—"
"Did you also forget that I also live on this same floor?" Aiden’s tone sounded a little surly when he pointed his thumb towards his room door, in front of which both of them coincidentally met at that moment.
Feeling a bit flustered to realize Kylian had actually forgotten about that, he chose to mask his awkwardness with a forged smile, "Oh...sorry, my bad. Alright, then...I will go back to my room. T-Thank you for saving me today as well, Aiden."
Kylian turned around and proceeded to head towards his room first, but before he could take a step ahead, he sensed Aiden march another step closer to him from behind, followed by a cold grunt, "It won’t do you any good if you keep sneaking outside the campus getting influenced by Zenith. His dad will back his shoulder if something goes wrong, but what about you? Do you have any spare choice if you get in trouble, Kylian?"
