Chapter 174: The Last Time

Lorelia’s cold scowl froze the head butler from immense fear, as he realized the fatal mistake Barnes had committed already before he arrived here. He rolled his anxious gaze down on him but saw Barnes was only gawking at Aiden, hugging his unconscious body tighter, compressing the ice on his scars with tears streaming down his eyes.
Just from one glance, Rick understood Barnes’s heart was breaking to watch his beloved Aiden in such pain...and it was natural to feel rage towards the person who hurt their loved ones.
But Lorelia wasn’t a normal woman in the first place. Indeed, whatever Barnes told her was the exact truth about her existence, but right now, Rick couldn’t afford to take any more risk.
"I-I am terribly sorry for his rude words, Madam. Of course not, the servants here never thought ill of you, Madam...not even for a day. But still, I will make sure to give him a good scolding for his mistake, so please allow me to take him from here—"
"How dare you think I would let him leave alive after hearing his disgusting thoughts about me?" But cutting in between the butler’s words, Lorelia widened her scary sneer, while directing her gaze back on Barnes, "I will kill this miserable brat right at this instant.
"Firstly, he committed an unforgivable mistake by barging inside my room when I was teaching my ’own’ son a lesson. Also, he dared to touch my son with his filthy hands right in front of me...so...how audacious of you to think I would let this slide?"
Lorelia’s voice sounded extremely serious, and each of her words winced Barnes from fear as he couldn’t help but hug Aiden tighter. His scars were badly bleeding and he was awestruck to witness such a crazy woman who was worried about her damn ego, more than the life of her own son!
